Quinn and Ellis have settled into a happy daddy boy relationship when they find themselves smitten with talented, smart-mouthed — and sexy — actor Amory Reed. Amory has a daddy kink. Amory wants a boy. Quinn and Ellis want Amory. But Amory’s lower-class background makes him wary of these rich Savannahians, as does a scary secret he’s keeping. They want to make the romance work. But their jealousy … jealousy threatens to leave them with nothing but empty arms and broken hearts.
Full of memorable characters, including a bratty boy, a smart-mouthed switch, and a strict-but-indulgent daddy, Beautiful Boys will hook you with a good plot — and keep you reading for the high heat.
A spinoff of the Southern Seduction and Low Country Lovers universe, the Southern Scandal series can be read on its own.

I loved the first of this series, with Quin and Ellis but adding Emory into this duo and taking it to the three of them is perfect. They all have such deep backstories and a lot to learn of each other and how to work to be a throuple and how to Really love each other. Julia has a way of really pulling on the heart strings and make you feel for her characters. You need to read the first to get the full feel for Quin and Ellis. There is a lot of heart and love in this story and I can’t wait for more.
I just finished reading Beautiful Boys and I liked a lot but… 3 1/2 stars because the premise was good – two rich men, a boy and his daddy, fall in love with a beautiful poor boy who is an actor and very good at playing a part.
The story details their journey to try to come together as a family(?), a threesome(?), a connection of some kind.
There is angst and a LOT of sex and a slow build to conclusion. I will read more from this author, but I want more too from what I read.
Beautiful Boys picks up a couple of years after, I Wish I Were Special. Quinn and Ellis have both decided they would like to try adding a third. It is something they both desire and they find the perfect boy in Amory a theater actor.
All three men have enough chemistry to blow a science lab. However, Amory struggles with the fact that Quinn and Ellis both come from Savannah’s elite money class and he actually came from humble beginnings and even now struggles with being homeless unless a miracle happens.
Unfortunately this is not a Hallmark movie, so there are real struggles to battle and hurdles to get over. At times I felt there was no way this story could have an HEA because of all the baggage and strife. My heart cried for these three broken men as they ripped their souls open for all in the name of love and pride.
If you like complex characters who evolve and grow as the story progresses, along with explosively detailed manage scenes to curl your toes, then definitely give this book a try.
I was given an advanced reader copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the sequel to “I Wish I Was Special”. In the first book we meet Quinn and Ellis and see them fall in love and grow together as individuals and as a couple. In the second book they’ve been together for two years and decide to take a third in their relationship, Amory. It starts casual but soon all three men discover that their feelings for each other are deeper. Being in a polyamorous relationship is harder than they imagined. There are tears and fights but they still try to make it work because those three really belong together and complete one another. You’ll have to read the book to see if they succeed.
I loved how complex and well developed the characters were. Not just the main three, but the side characters too. I have to admit that I have a soft spot for Isa, she’s adorable. The characters feel like real people with real problems and it was easy to connect with them.
Also, I really really adore the writing style, it’s dreamy and I love the dialect.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
The followup to I Wish I Were Special has the same sensual, erotic, almost dreamlike interactions between Daddy Ellis and his boy Quinn…with a huge complication. Amory, whose charming swagger has both Daddy and boy wanting to add a third to their already complex and, in some ways, fragile relationship. Ellis and Quinn both want what they want, and Amory wants them, too, so they all go for it and in doing so run up against the kinds of obstacles you’d think would come with bringing a third person into an existing relationship. Everyone gets jealous and envious, everyone gets hurt feelings, everyone has difficulty coming to terms with it but no one wants to let go, so they work through it all. The sex among and between them is sizzling hot, but as erotic as this book is, it’s also highly emotional and romantic. I think it’s Julia McBryant’s best work yet.
Wow! Such an emotional rollercoaster, as Ellis, Quinn and Amory maneuver their way through the emotional swists and curves of their developing relationship. But anything worth having is worth fighting for, so if they are going to have this, and decide if this is what they want and if it is worth while it work it out so they can move forward together. I really enjoyed this book, but it drove me crazy because if they just would have talked things out it would have been so much better, I laughed, I yelled and yes I even cried but in the end it was so worth it, such a good read!
Ellis, Quinn, and Amory are all wonderful characters and their relationship is amazing. They felt very real, they had arguments and hurt each other but their understanding of one another grew. You can see Quinn’s and Ellis’s relationship continuing to grow, even after two years together. Amory’s relationship with the other two is complicated and they all make mistakes and then make-up. At one point, I absolutely hated Amory for what he did to Quinn. But I was in love with Amory again within the next couple of chapters. Art the beginning Amory thinks Ellis and Quinn are just a couple of rich boys and by the end, he understands that they’ve had their share of hardships. At one point, I was crying and my heart was breaking for Quinn and then again for Amory. Ellis is a good Daddy for them, with each of the boys giving him something different that he needs, with both of them giving Quinn all the love and attention, and Amory gets both a Daddy and a boy. The sex, between all three or even just two of them, is HOT. Which is what I’ve come to expect from Julia McBryant. The one thing I did not like is that Amory did not get a special nickname for Quinn to call him. Ellis is Daddy, Quinn is Baby Q, so where’s Amory’s nickname? But that’s a small detail that can be easily overlooked.
I received a copy of this book as an ARC.
This is the second one in the Southern Scandal series, the first one is I Wish I were Special and is Ellis and Quinn’s story. It MUST be read before this one as there are events that are mentioned in Beautiful Boys that actually took place in I Wish I Were Special.
