Team Shifter is a dating app that promises happily ever after and all that goes with it. Robert and Meredith both have gone through heartache and don’t believe in happily ever after. Will this dating app prove them wrong? I really enjoyed this book.
This was my first book from this author and I am glad that I took the chance. I really enjoyed the easy way that she introduced the characters and gradually provided more insight into them and their behaviors. Not only them actually, but into the entire community. The banter and natural interactions between Robert and Meredith (MMC & FMC) keep the reader engaged from the ccx very opening of the book through the conclusion.
Robert is a bear shifter, and pediatrician, who is new to the community of Claw Valley (CV). CV used to a happy community and open to everyone, however that was before Meredith’s mother was attacked and killed by a random stranger. Robert did not know about the death nor the people’s response prior to taking the job at CV. All he knew was that people were down right hostile. He did note that the bartender, Meredith, was at least nice superficially.
Meredith noted Robert the first time the stranger came into the bar that she worked in. She knew right away he was a shifter by sent, and while he was a stranger and she was cautious, she was not anxious like she normally would have been.
After parting ways, and once Meredith gets home, she logs into a shifter app Foxy (her BF) told her about. She meets BEAR and they chat all night. They have a date for that evening, but she smells it’s him and stands him up! When she sees him at the bar that day, she can’t help but tell him the truth. He’s not mad and they try their date again.
The second try goes much better. In fact, they end up back at her house. Robert has not been physical since his divorce, and while his bear wants her, he knows if he does, he will never want to let go. When a storm forced him to spend the night, Robert ends up claiming Meredith. Usually a happy thing, she ends up telling him she never wants to see him again.
Will Meredith reconsider and listen to Robert’s profession of love and devotion? Will she insist on reversing the claiming bite, removing any connection she has with Robert?

A very sweet story. Some troubling things at first then they found out they wanted to make it work. I enjoyed this one. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is book one of the Team Shifter series and the main characters are Meredith and Robert, who both live in Claw Valley. Meredith has been concentrating on her job as bartender in one of only two bars in the small shifter town. She has lived there all of her life and never wanted to leave, but doesn’t trust anyone after what happened to her mother. Outsiders aren’t trusted by most of the townsfolk due to events in the past and her number one rule is to never to trust others. Claw Valley used to be a friendly place, as everybody knows each other and there is a limited dating pool due to this. Robert has come to town to take up a job as a paediatrician, and soon finds a lot of the locals very unfriendly towards him, amongst patients, parents and even the other staff in the small clinic. He ends up in Meredith’s bar after one of his first shifts and starts talking to Meredith, not believing the prices after coming from a big city and finding her easy to talk with. Robert came to the town to help other shifters specifically, having worked in hospitals and clinics that treated both humans and shifters. But the treatments needed for shifters can sometimes be very different than what can be used for humans. He had expected it would take some time for people to be comfortable with him treating their kids, but he face outright hostility from some!
Foxy, a fox shifter and best friend of Meredith who is a wolf shifter, suggests that Meredith try out the Team Shifter dating app, which helps match up shifters in the local area, but without any photos of the daters being shown. Shifters are supposed to meet in their shifted form and figure out if they are compatible by sniffing each other. Robert also tries it out and is matched with Meredith, not that either of them know that at the time, just spending most of the night sending messages back and forth to each other. They agree to meet the next night, but Meredith has a lot to overcome before she can feel safe going on a date. Robert is a bear shifter and some smaller shifters, such as Foxy, get a lot of hassle and prejudice due to the size of their shifted forms, which is unkind. Meredith has some second thoughts about her date and this causes a few issues, between a pair of characters who seem to have so much to build upon in a relationship. There are lots of tales of others having found their life partner or even fated mates with this app. They have chemistry, but both have to deal with their own issues, Robert has to decide if he wants to stay in a town where it seems he is not welcome, whereas Meredith has to learn to take a chance on life, to trust others and let someone into her life! Great short story and romance with a HEA ending and an easy read for all. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
A fabulous read. This is the story of Meredith and Robert and their journey to their happily ever after. The story is well written, it will keep you interested till the end. The characters are likeable and have a great connection. Looking forward to read more.
Meredith is a bartender in a small town . Ever since her mother was killed she has had problems trusting anyone especially strangers. One night at work, a sexy hot stranger starts to flirt with her. Meredith enjoys the interaction but thinks the guy is way out of her league. The interaction makes her realize that she is lonely and horny. Her best friend talks her into signing up for a dating app called Team Shifter. This app connects people through their interests and doesn’t show pictures of the people. Meredith makes a connection with a bear and talks all night with him. She even agrees to meet him in person but when she arrives, she figures out her date is the sexy guy from the bar and she chickens out.
Robert is a bear shifter who is still trying to recover from his divorce from his high school sweetheart. He has just gotten a job as a pediatrician in a small town and is looking forward to his new life. Then he finds out that nobody in town trusts people who just moved in. Many people are distrustful and even hostile. So far the only person who seems to enjoy talking to him is Meredith the bartender. He decides to try the dating app Team shifter a try

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Welcome to Claw Valley where the welcome might not be so warm. There is a new Team Shifter dating app that is going to shake up the town. Meredith is a bartender and wolf shifter. Robert is a pediatrician and bear shifter. They both decide to use the app and things get complicated fast. Robert is a great guy but she still does not trust easily. With some help, these two will find out that love and fate have their own agenda. I really liked the storyline and how the characters grew together

We have a little love story. Meredith owns a bar and meets Robert there. Robert is a new doctor in town. They both have issues and working on them. They both try this app for a chance at date. They don’t expect what happens. They both keep making mistakes. What will happen? Can they ever be on the same page? Can they get past their past?

I love reading stories with different dating apps. For shifters, for aliens, for plain ole humans. This dating app is for shifters but unlike most dating apps, there are no pictures. That way you are judging from what is written not what your eyes see. I think that is pretty good.
Claw Valley is a very small town, a small town that is very standoffish to strangers. Years ago a stranger, a bear, came into town and killed Meredith’s mother. Ever since then, the residents take a very long time to accept new residents. Meredith runs one of the two bars in town and when Tall, Dark, and Dashing shows up and tips $15 for a scotch, she notices him. He is nicely groomed, dressed nicely and very courteous. Definitely not from around here. When her friend Foxy talks her into trying the newest Shifter Dating App, she gives it a try. She hasn’t dated in quite some time so she is a little reluctant to go for it, but she does. She agrees to meet her first match, in their animal forms, at a beautiful place. She shows up and sees who it is and takes off before he sees her. It is Tall, Dark and Dashing. He is a bear.
Robert left the big city to come to this small town to try to start again. He wants to make a difference. He likes the small-town vibe, but he is really getting tired of people being rude to him because he is new in town. He really likes Meradith at the bar and sees how she is with others. But when she stands him up for their first date, he doesn’t understand it. They go on their first date again. This time, things turn out different. He shares how he was divorced, but he didn’t mate with her. She shares about what happened when she lost her mother. While getting together, he accidentally mates her. He gets upset because he feels it should have been something discussed first. She sees it that he regrets it at all. They need to get together to get things straightened out.

When you are new in town use the Team Shifter dating app to meet your match
Bears VS Wolves is the first book in the new Team Shifter series by Sophie Stern. This story is about Meredith and Robert. Both are shifters living in Claw Valley. Meredith is a wolf shifter and works as a bartender in the local bar. She is weary of strangers and new people in town, as are the rest of the town folks, because her mother had been killed in a robbery by a stranger. This incident changed the community as a whole.
Robert is a bear shifter and has come to Claw Valley to be the new pediatrician. After his first day he goes to the local bar for a drink and meets Meredith and her best friend Foxy. He chats with them and they let him know of a dating app, Team Shifter, that matches the shifters with their perfect mates so when he gets home he decides to try it.
After Meredith closes up and gets home she logs into Team Shifter also and before they can each blink an eye they are matched. They end up “talking” into the night but do not know who the other person actually is. Before they end their chat they arrange a date for the next night but in their wolf and bear form. But Meredith ditches the date before it even starts after recognizing Robert’s scent and instead goes to work. Robert shows up to have a couple of drinks and console himself after being stood up. It will take Foxy to get Meredith to finally let Robert know what happened and why. But he is understanding and they do have their first date. Things are not always easy for these two but in the end they do get their HEA and lots of little cubs running around.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Robert is new to Claw Valley and has found most of the citizens are not friendly. Meredith has trouble trusting because of tragedy in her past. The Team Shifter Dating App pairs them, however, unexpected difficulties may tear them apart. Bears vs Wolves is an enjoyable novel and I will read more of Sophie Stern’s work.

This is the first book I’ve read by Sophie Stern but won’t be the last. Robert and Meredith were well developed, interesting characters. The storyline was compelling, well paced, although at times I thought I was reading a YA story. Robert was, at times, pretty indecisive which was weird for a doctor. But overall, I thought the book was a good read.
