Bearly Breathing
River:
When I was seventeen I made an unforgivable mistake.
My entire clan hates me even though I’m their alpha.
I was willing to live alone in the darkness until I saw him.
He is mine. Every fiber of my being tells me that.
The clan will object to their alpha being with both a human and a man.
I don’t care. I will have what’s mine.
Darius:
Everyone gets one great love. I’ve had mine.
She died.
Now all that’s left for me is survival.
One day at a time. One breath at a time.
But why is it when I look at him I feel like I could love again?
I can’t betray her memory…
But I also can’t betray my heart.

So these three stories might not be traditional love stories since they are between two males and a female in the first two stories and between two males in the third storie, but the love between these couples were sweet. I enjoyed the stories and how they cared for each other. I liked hos they show that the love can be just AS strong and true regardles of what the couple pairing looks like.

This is a really enjoyable shifter series. This set includes Books 1-3, and my opinions on each book follow. Book 3 far and away had more feels, emotion, and angst, and it was definitely my favorite.
Bearly Rivals – 4 stars
First the disclosure – There are some really unrealistic events in this book. I don’t know many women who would be okay with being misled and kidnapped AND then immediately come on to the guy. But if you suspend disbelief and just enjoy this book as a sweet romance and rivalry between two guys for the same girl, it’s a great story. Of course, there are ulterior motives. Levi and Jaxom are contending for leadership of the clan, and Bailey (or her womb, anyway) is the key. Bailey is looking for the perfect man, and finds two. How does she choose? Do they really love her for her, or just for the child she could bear? There are secrets, old betrayals, revenge, some hot sex, and a juicy past relationship. I thought the ending was perfect. This is an enjoyable, low angst, steamy romance.
Bearly Dangerous – 4 stars
The Bears of Southoak series is fun and entertaining. I really enjoyed this second book in the series. It has less angst than the first book, but still two hot and sexy bear shifters and one lonely girl looking for love. I was so glad to see Felicity finally free of that dead weight Rob! And Felicity’s mom is so insulting and truly terrible to Felicity that it is almost funny…almost. Kyle is truly a sweetheart, and I loved the way he took care of Hunter and Felicity, and was so generous. The pink scooter and practical joking of the guys was hilarious. If you want a light, easy, fun menage read (MF/MM/MMF), this is a great choice!
Bearly Breathing – 5 stars
This is a great story of figuring out where you belong. River is the rightful Alpha of a xenophobic, homophobic bear clan, but as a gay man AND the killer of the clan’s prior alpha, he is derided and despised by most of the clan. They don’t like him, fear him, and are willing to pay him to leave. You might wonder why he stays. It’s his right as Alpha…and he believes he has nowhere else to go. It takes meeting Darius, a human, and his half-bear son, as well as a terrible loss, to help River see what is truly important to him and to find where he belongs. They were some sad parts in this book, some drama and angst, and lots of sweet, sexy love. I loved the way Darius found his place, too, in a way, and grew enough to support River and to realize he was using his grief as a crutch as much as he had the alcohol. The scenes with the bottle of alcohol, sponsor Meg, and the gravesite were poignant and touching. Great story!
