Growing up in a broken home, I had two missions—to protect my sister and get the hell out of my father’s pack. I didn’t need my father, his money, or his Alpha bear legacy clouding over me and holding me back. I had almost forgotten about him, making it on my own as a solider and football player. If only he’d stayed alive, I might not have had to think about him again. Then again, if not for his …
Then again, if not for his untimely death, I never would have met Lucinda, the high-powered and stunningly beautiful lawyer who is trying to make me an offer I don’t want. However, I can’t resist her perfect lips, stunning eyes, and legs that go on for days…
As much as I want her to go away, I know I must claim her as my own. Is fate conspiring against us as we strike a bargain that’s bound to end in heartbreak?

Arthur grew up in a bear pack with a horribly abusive father, who was also the Alpha of his pack. Once he was old enough he moved out and joined the military and now he’s a famous pro football player. When his father unexpectedly dies he wants nothing to do with his inheritance and throws out the lawyer who brings him the information. Lucy is the youngest partner in the law firm, led by her parents, and they send her in to get Arthur on board no matter the cost. Arthur and Lucy start out rocky and get rockier but discover they have a lot in common. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.

Great storyline, great characters with chemistry off the chart. It is well written and engaging.
The twists and turns and drama. The secrets and lies. The steamy, hot shifter’s romance lies.
Definitely recommended!

I enjoyed this story very much. You have fantastic world-building and very believable characters. You can relate to them and you can feel what they are going through.
Lucinda is working her way to the top of the law firm her parents founded. She hasn’t been given any help along the way. She does everything her parents want her to do, but she doesn’t get any support from them. They have always been more involved with their business than with her. When their biggest client passes away and if his son won’t take over the company, it is to be disbanded. When her father went to talk to the son, the son shut him down. Then her parents sent her to talk to him and if she gets him to take over his father’s company, she will be a named partner, meaning her name will be part of the title of the company. She makes a deal with him that at the end of a week of her being at his beck and call, he might sign the contract. Their chemistry is off the charts. She doesn’t mind, but when her mother sticks her nose in it to check on her, things blow up.
Arthur was regularly physically abused by his father all his life. He would rather take the abuse to protect his sister. He vowed that he will make his way in the world doing what he wanted to do and won’t have anything to do with his father. He even supported his sister when she left their father’s home. He put her through college and helped her afterward. When their father passed away, his sister handled the funeral which he refused to attend. When Luci came to talk to him about taking over his father’s company, she played on all those people who have worked there will lose their jobs if he doesn’t run it. She didn’t mention that the law firm that she works at will lose over 25% of their billable hours. When he looks at her, all he wants to do is grab her and throw her on his bed. He makes a deal with her that she has to be at his beck and call for anything he wants. He might now call her for days then he calls her when she is in the middle of meetings and demands that she attend him. When her mother shows up to check on how things are going, he starts to wonder why kind of parent is she to Luci and what do they want him to sign the papers so much.

I absolutely enjoyed the plot of this story. The beginning was rough, but it gets better. Lucinda, Arthur and Regina are gems. Carter, the dad is a piece of work. Arthur was abused by his dad, Carter. Carter considered brute force a sign or authority. Carter was presumably the well respected Alpha. His pack had no idea of his true abusive nature. He has a successful, well decorated tour in the Army, then as a football player. Lucinda, Sr Partner in Cortez, Semple and Pearlman, is a professional who loves the challenge of stress. Carter died unexpectedly and his will dictated Arthur take over as CEO or the company would need to be sold off. Lucinda’s parents, managing partners of Cortez, Semple and Pearlman, insisted she get Arthur’s signature, by any means necessary. Arthur and Lucinda played the will he/won’t he game. What is behind the urgency of C/S & P? Does Lucinda seal the deal? Does Arthur go back to the company? How does Regina like the new possibilities? Nice story. The plot could have spent more type on Smythe. The epilogue didn’t go far enough. Lots of elements left dangling. Good story! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

After a brutal childhood, Arthur has made a success of his life, and is faced with a decision that brings up memories of that cruelty. Lucinda is expected to go to any lengths for her parents and their firm. Juniper Hart has written a story of two emotionally scarred people working to overcome their pain.

Arthur comes from an abusive home. He’s constantly told that he won’t be a good alpha. He has two goals to achieve. The first is to protect his sister. the second is to get out as fast & as far away from his father as possible. He becomes a soldier and then a pro football player. Lucinda’s firm handled all of Arthur’s fathers affairs, including his will which states that Arthur has to take over as CEO & as pack Alpha. She is tasked with convincing Arthur to take both positions even if he doesn’t want them. If he doesn’t do it, the firm will lose a lot of money & the employees of his father’s company will all be unemployed. While meeting, he tells her that if she will be at his beck & call for an amount of time that he will do it. He throws in that if she’s late or doesn’t show up even once the deal is off. The attraction between the two is electric. What happens when your fate is staring you in the face is not always easy to accept.
Great characters & world building. Lucinda is smart & determined. Arthur is brooding & sexy as sin. The two of them together causes steam to escape the pages. HEA!
Book one in the Kiss-Mate Shifters series a well written story with drama, revenge, twists, turns, lies, and romance. I want to read the next book. This is Lucinda and Arthur’s story of two people raised by uncaring parents and the things they have to overcome to be able to move forward as a couple.

Arthur came from an abusive home that gave him two tasks he had to do to survive. First was to protect his sister, Regina, from their abusive father. The second was to leave his father’s pack and never look back!
After many years, he had all but forgotten his broken home life because he was successful as a solider and football player. But when his father died, his past came back to haunt him. In his father’s Will, Arthur was required to accept the CEO position at his father’s company and become Alpha of the bears. He really didn’t want it, but the law firm, not wanting to lose the account, sent Lucinda to convince him to comply. If he refuses, the business will be shut down and the employees left jobless. So more was at stake than Arthur’s pride or painful past. And there is something about Lucinda that calls to his bear – is she his mate? How will this complicate things now?
Shifter books are always my favorites, and this book didn’t disappoint. This one deals with the uncomfortable topic of abuse and its effect on the lives of people who suffer and often can’t escape what is happening to them. The characters are well-portrayed, and the reader is given hope when Arthur and Regina escape their father’s cruelty – even though that kind of past can affect the victims throughout their lives. Yet Arthur still cares for others and is ready to put their interests before his own. Will he accept the CEO job? Will he become Alpha? Will he recognize his mate? Can he find the strength to overcome his painful past? Or has he been too badly hurt to want any part of that life again?
Good story. There is so much emotion in this story. The author has an way of infusing her work with reality and making you want to weep for what they go through. weather with the mind or body. And the way it creeps up on them that they have fallen in love is funny. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
An abusing father who drove his children away early, despite the money and the position he was offering them dies in an accident and now his children need to make decisions about their legacy. Will a mate help them or distract them from their path?
An interesting story-line, and well executed.
The series is named after the dating app the shifters in the story are using, but they actually meet their mate without the app. It is more of a confirmation of their feelings than someone new introduced.

A well written short shifter bear story. Has a great storyline and characters. This story is about Lucinda and Arthur. She is a lawyer and he is a bear shifter. Arthur does not want anything to do with his abusive father, but he needs to take his father’s legacy after his death. Lucinda’s firm needs to keep the business of Carling Industries, which would be lost if Arthur does not agree to inherit it. Will Arthur keep the business? A wonderful story that will keep you turning pages.

So much subtifuge. An interesting story, with multiple, although related threads running through. Arthur and Lucinda had a lot to work through, but at the end I wanted to know what happens with Reggie, and who is Baxter?

This was a good book. The writing style of this book took time some time to get into. A son despises his father, a women sent to seduce him. A sister who wants her own life but is betrayed by a lover.

This is book one of Juniper Hart’s new series “Kiss-Mate Shifters”. As to be expected from one of her books, the storyline is intriguing, filled with all the chemistry, angst, and drama needed to keep any reader’s attention. The characters were personable and had personality traits that were so easy to relate to. This appears to be a series to follow and I won’t miss the next book.
