Garrison I’ve lived on this mountain my whole life. For the most part, I’ve been alone and that’s just the way I like it. No annoyances, no people, no noise. That is until SHE moves into the abandoned house next door. I don’t know what her intentions are, but she insists on being friends. So, being the good neighbor I am. I am more than happy to roll out the UNwelcome mat for her. She needs to … needs to disappear and fast. All I want to do is continue my solitude and send the tiny woman on her way back to wherever she came from.
Ugh, if it was only that easy.

Perfect! There is no other word that would describe this book’s writing and narration. I loved this book and everything about it. This is a must read for everyone!
Nicole Garcia knocks it out of the park with Bearly Even Friends. This book is a sweet story of fate with a side of comedy and a lot of heart. Love the characters and the reminder that not everything is as it seems. Enjoy!
Great chemistry right from the start. Garrison is a bear of a next door neighbor-literally. Minnie is such an amazing character. Her antics had me entertained through the whole book. You Definitely need to pick this one up
This is a great PNR story that’s filled with laughter and love. Garrison is one of a kind for sure and although he gives off that grizzly bear personally there’s so much more to him then meets the eye and little by little Minnie and her antics help us see that. A non stop page turner that will have you wanting to see what happens next. If you’re looking for a light hearted read this is the book for you.
Another great read by Nicole Garcia. If there’s something I’ve come to love by her it’s that her stories are always filled with fun characters, a sweet romance, and plenty of steam. Bearly Even Friends did not disappoint.
I loved everything about this story. Garrison was adorable! A grumpy bear shifter completely bewildered by the hilarious human, Minnie. Minnie for her part was bananas! She’s funny and crazy and determined to break down Garrison’s walls. I freaking adored her. I loved watching their push and pull relationship and how Garrison slowly gave into the crazy little human next door. Also, extra points because I loved the bit about playing a certain Mariah Carey song on loop because that song rocks. Even in July! Haha.
Funny, adorable, and plenty steamy, Bearly Even Friends was like Christmas in July! If you’re a fan of fun, flirty, and funny PNR then this book is for you.
This was another enjoyable addition to my holiday listening. A completely stand alone shifter romance, this was my first experience with Nicole Garcia. I enjoyed her sense of humor weaved throughout this. While Garrison & Minnie start out antagonistic, many of their interactions left me laughing.
Lots of great tropes to love here: fated mates, enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine, and opposites attract. Many unique takes on these themes made this a real treat. (I don’t want to spoil them.) I look forward to more writing by Garcia.
Narration:
Kai Kennicott & Wen Ross were truly delightful in this and really brought Garcia’s writing to life. Flawless duet narration that completely immerses me in the story. Garrison’s grump and Minnie’s cheer (and snark) really came to life.
Bearly Even Friends was a good read by Nicole Garcia. Garrison has lived on the mountain his whole life. He has been alone a long time and that’s ho he likes it. Minnie moves into the abandoned house next door and insists on them being friends. All he wants is for her to leave and fast. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more by the author.
This was my first shifter romance and I really enjoyed it!
It wasn’t as spicy as I expected (as I’m not as much sexy times lol) but that didn’t stop the purpose of the story!
This was a beautiful story that was beautifully performed by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott
This is a cute story. I loved how gruff/mean Garrison is to Minnie at the beginning. He really made some changes throughout the story. That being said I loved how she decided to kill him with kindness…..or just be annoying to him depends on how you look at it. Porter was a wonderful secondary character. I could feel his love for Garrison.
I listened to this on audio. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross were the narrators. They do such a great job!
I love Nicole Garcia’s writing! This is a great bear shifter paranormal romance. Garrison and Minnie’s story is fun, sweet, sexy, and beautiful. They are opposites attract, and they share a great chemistry. The storyline is fast paced and captivating. I love the ending. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it!
Bearly Even Friends

Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
I have waited for this book to come out on audio and it was so worth the wait. Nicole Garcia has a writing style that is like coming home for me. This book has a little of everything, from the grumpy hermit to the spunky woman to the wise old uncle. I could not stop listening! Minnie has recently moved to Yaak Montana, getting away from the crazy life she was leading; Garrison who is the only person near her is not happy. He likes his solitude and her intrusion is not welcome. He isn’t making life easy, but she does not let it stop her from getting to know him. The two share an unexplained connection and their chemistry is strong. In true Nicole Garcia style, she masterfully weaves a deep, well thought out story that steals your heart, makes you love bears and understand families. I felt like I was right there with Minnie and Garrison. I could feel their love, their heartache and their passion. Every minute gave us something new and led this shifter romance to a wonderful ending.
The narration is what brings this story to life. It’s very visual and emotional. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross get it, and use their voices to give us every feeling. Kai’s voice for Minnie is perfect, with a stubbornness that will not let up. We know she means business, and then she finds that warmth and passion. Wen plays Garrison with a grumpy, loner feel until he knows what he wants and his voice meets the change. Their duet style is flawless and I love how easily their narration flows together. They are the dream team for this book.

Bearly Even Friends by Nicole Garcia is the story of Minnie and Garrison.
Garrison is a well off bear shifter who lost his parents at a early age. This has set him on a path that allowed him to isolate himself because he didn’t want any interactions really with humans or others. Of course he has someone to look after his business and things and does have to interact with other sometimes but it isn’t a goal of his to do so. Then a new neighbor moves…Minnie who is total opposite of him. Minnie is outgoing, fun and a total person who loves everything it seems. But he not putting up with her at all until he finds he can’t do anything else but be hers.
Loved this story and I am a big fan of Ms. Garcia’s writing.
Garrison is one grumpy man, although he wasn’t always that way.
Minnie is a sweetheart who has moved in next door.
Little by little this sweetheart is gonna thaw his icy heart although it won’t come easy.
The characters are lovable and funny, and it’s all-around a real good story.
And of course, we get twists and turns as these two learn more about each other, and even perhaps a big eye-opener for the grumpy bear.
If it’s meant to be it will be…
Nicole Garcia always has a way to draw you into a story and care deeply for the characters. She makes you feel the story. Feel what they’re feeling and live the story alongside them. This is what happened with Barely. You feel the struggles they have both lived with and the pain to overcome them. I will always recommend Nicole’s books this one is no exception.
Cute, and fun book! Grumpy Garrison and his bid to get “rid” of Minnie. And Minnie with her attempts to “befriend” Garrison are downright comical. The antics of these two will have you entertained until the end.
This was a fun, sweet romance. Garrison iis a grumpy bear shifter who lives on the mountains by himself and prefers to be by himself since he lost his parents when he was a cub. Minnie moves in next door and disrupts Garrison’s peace and he wants her to leave. The chemistry between these two are instant and Garrison tries to fight it and Minnie makes it her mission to annoy the grumpy hot mountain man. The banter between these two are funny and when they get together it’s explosive.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review!
Garrison is a bear shifter whose parents were killed when he was a bear cub. He survived and has been alone for a long time and only has one friend-his foreman Porter, who is in charge of Garrison’s building business. He rarely leaves his mountain home. Then along comes Minnie and turns his life upside down. I loved the storyline which has romance, humor and some sad and angst moments. I loved Minnie who was such a sweet and tenacious woman. Garrison, I wanted to smack his head at times but fell in love with him and so will you. Highly recommend this book!!
