“Quirky characters, madcap antics, snappy dialogue, charged love scenes. . .” –Publishers WeeklyHe’s big, burly, and way smarter than your average shapeshifting bear. He’s also about to get trapped by own his game. . .Lou Crushek is a reasonable, mellow, easygoing kind of guy. But once someone starts killing the scumbags he works so hard to bust, that really gets under his fur. Especially … under his fur. Especially when that someone is a curvy she-tiger with a skill set that’s turning Crush’s lone-bear world upside down–and bringing his passion out of hibernation. . .
As a member of an elite feline protection unit, Marcella Malone has no problem body-dropping anyone who hunts her kind. But Crush is proving one major pain in her gorgeous tail. The only reason she’s joined forces with him is to track down the wealthy human who’s got her entire species in his ruthless sights. It sure isn’t because Crush’s stubborn and contrary attitude is rubbing Cella in all the right ways. . .

Loved this book. Enjoyed the humor and the characters especially Marcella and of course, Crush…
Crush and Marcella is a hot romance done right. The charaters and sub charaters are interesting and strong. The world is easy to imagine. The romance is funny and witty. While there is a layer of mystery and intrigue. #romance #witty #romance #UrbanFantasy #Shifters #hot
3 stars – I liked it
Lou Crushek is a bear who hates change. Unfortunately, he is being transferred to the Group’s law enforcement unit which includes a crazy she-tiger who won’t leave him alone.
Lou and Cella’s relationship starts as a fake relationship to get her family off her back. As with most fake relationships, it leads to feelings and to a true relationship. While I liked both Lou and Cella, I found their relationship a little flat. I think this is because they didn’t really spend a lot of time together outside of work or sex. I did really like how adorable Lou was, especially when it came to his “foster” dog.
The thing I liked most about this book though was the relationship between Cella, Dee-Ann, and Desiree. Those three women are crazy and make a great team, when they aren’t beating the crap out of each other. I also enjoyed that Laurenston did not make Cella’s daughter into a copy of her. She was different from her mother and was a great character in the small scenes she was in. Overall, this was a good book but not one of my favorites in this series.
Lou Crushek was an undercover cop until his cover gets blown. The polar bear shifter, is traded to another division and they are looking for humans hunting for shifters. Cella Malone is part of a feline protection unit and also the enforcer for the hometown hockey team. Sparks fly from these two but they both fight the attraction. Crush is a by the book cop and Cella is “rough around the edges” and doesn’t mind getting a little dirty.
Excellent story. Blood, fighting, and sex. A little cliffhanger. Crazy family.
The antics between these two had me laughing. He was a great balance to her and she definitely kept him on his toes.
Quirky and fun
I loved it. 5 stars.
This was a lot of fun, I laughed a lot reading this book! I swear, the bears are the best, not rude, just straight up honest, and that seems to set everybody off. Crush is better than Novikov, he is a gentleman cop bear, but he still tends to speak his mind in a logical fashion, and then wonders why everyone gets so upset
And Cella, she is total cat, stirring the pot for the sake of stirring. She likes to poke a Crush, but then, she doesn’t know what to do when she starts to feel for him. While working to solve a mystery of a shifter hunter, the bear alliance is against them, and crazy relatives and friends around, it is no wonder the fun times never stop!
I haven’t read a Shelly Laurenston work in quite some time, but I’m so glad I dove back in. Her character interactions always make me so happy.
Lou and Cella’s story is pretty slow burning (in my opinion), but it’s so worth it. I love all the quirky characters and their super strange friendships. Those interactions made this story so amazing.
The only reason I’m not giving this story five stars is because it did drag in a few places. Oh, but I just loved it so much. It made me want to go back and re-read the earlier books in the series. Because Shelly Laurenston’s characters give me life.
the series and the author. Many thanks for the entertainment you give me.
I absolutely loved it and i would definitely recommend it.
Love Shelly Laurenston books! Always funny, loving, and full of charismatic characters who take you on a wild ride through their worlds.
