This book was everything; I love Captain; have done from book one, so, finally, have his story and all the in your-face-twists, well, dam woman? I bow to your storytelling perfection.
I read this in one sitting, I could not put it down, the story of Victoria and the life she lived was so heartbreaking, and her involvement throughout was something that made me smile, she one sneaky girl! But the shocker of it all was her involvement with Captian daughter and everything that leads to that, I’m not going to spoil it because you need to read this to find out what? Which I promise will have you guessing until the very end.
OH. MY. GOSH. Captain and Victoria’s story was everything I had been hoping for since I finished Reign of Brayshaw!!! I can’t even handle it! From beginning to end, I was hooked, on the edge of my seat, flipping page after page. I had to force myself to put the book down and go to sleep each night. This book legit gave me chills and was such an intense ride. Once again, blown away by Meagan Brandy.
I’ve loved Captain since the previous books, especially in Reign of Brayshaw, and was curious to see what his story was going to be about. We see Captain go through the ropes of being a father, the happy, sad, and scary times. As we know, the Brayshaw boys are known to be assholes, and Captain is no exception. When he learns one of the secrets Victoria has been keeping (so many!!!!) that hits him hard, she immediately becomes his enemy, yet living under his roof where he can keep an eye on her. He treats her pretty poorly throughout parts of the book, and it made me hurt for her, but she is so strong. She was so sweet to him even when he threw his angry words at her. She is so selfless, probably one of the most selfless characters I’ve read, always taking care of other people before herself without a second thought. She has a sad and interesting childhood and journey that lead her to the Brayshaws. The twists and turns, I was not expecting!! I would have liked to see a little bit more of Captain and Victoria’s relationship, and I am sad that their story is over, but it was so great!
Five Freaking Stars! Brandy has rocked my world all over again! This book was so much more than I ever anticipated! First things first, if you have not read the Brayshaw series you NEED to! I will never and I mean NEVER get enough of these characters and their loyalty. It’s truly something so special, that nothing compares! This is Captain and Victoria’s story and I have to say… out of all the characters, for me Captain was put kinda on the back burner, I was interested in him and his story but I was always more fascinated with the other character… buckle up buttercup because Captain is about to consume you!!! Man, I was so unprepared for this book. I went in excited, it was on my anticipated list because I love Brandy and this world of Brayshaw she created, but I was not on top of my game and this book put me on my A33! Be My Brayshaw is absolutely jaw-dropping! The storyline is unpredictable and intoxicating, also very emotional! There is so much heart and soul in this book, so many secrets filled with so much pain. This is a slow burn that is well worth the wait! You will fall so quickly and get lost in everything that is happening both in the past and in the present. Brandy really did a remarkable job with this story, She pieced everything together so perfectly. I’m dying for more, there’s no secret that Royce is my favorite but Captain really pulled one over on me! Victoria was such a phenomenal character, a hidden gem! I loved this book, it’s easily on my Best reads of 2020. A hands-down MUST READ! I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
So, I’ll start by saying that I didn’t hate this book as much as I thought I would, but what might be even worse, is that I feel mostly indifferent towards it. I was a massive fan of the first three Brayshaw books and I even liked Captain in them, but this version of Cap is definitely not the one we were introduced to there.
Honestly, the Cap that’s in this book is a punk. Straight up. He’s a jerk, and not even in an alpha sort of way that I could pass off. He treats Victoria terribly because he thinks he’s justified in doing so. I also felt like Victoria’s character was altered as well, although not to the extent that Captain’s was. She still held her secrets, but kept onto them with an iron clad grip that wasn’t necessary. I also felt like she was basically a doormat for the majority of the book and when Cap realizes how horribly he’s treated her, it’s basically a one sentence apology scene and Victoria is basically just like, ‘oh yes, no problemo my dude.’ WHAT?
For two people who claimed to be able to read others so easily and be the logical ones, they were terrible doing that with each other. Neither of them were willing to make the first move. This whole book was like one long stalemate.
Also, this book is marketed as enemies to lovers? WHO?????? Who are the enemies?! It surely wasn’t Captain and Victoria, maybe like Captain and Captain, seeing as how he’s his own worst enemy’s for 450 plus pages. Like come on. *eye roll*
Also, the Mallory drama was ridiculous. The big crux of the book was also far fetched too, even for a Brayshaw book.
I was so hyped for this book, but then right before it released, something changed for me. I just had a gut instinct that it wouldn’t be what I had hoped for. While I wasn’t completely right, I wasn’t completely wrong either.
The majority of this rating, by the way, comes from Zoey calling Royce ‘Uncle Bro,’ because that’s the cutest thing I’ve ever heard. While some points had my eyes rolling so hard or even feeling angry over them, this book really is the biggest ‘meh’ for me.
Royce is my favorite of the trio and I’m extremely hesitant and apprehensive for his book. Fingers crossed.
Captain, you broken and swoon-worthy man. My heart broke for you during this book. For all you’d been through at the hands of those who wanted to hurt you. For all your daughter had endured because of the life you were born into. For all your brothers went through to keep your head above water. Meagan Brandy really dug deep to pull out all the stops for this character and absolutely did him justice!
This story was tragic and beautiful. Victoria’s perspective was gut-wrenching but she proved that nothing was going to stop her from getting the life she knew she deserved. She was so darn strong and determined. I wanted to dislike her in the beginning but as more time passed and she continued to prove her loyalty, in her own way, I was more drawn to her and her happiness. I was worried that she’d be giving Raven a run for her money, but they complimented each other in the best ways.
Be My Brayshaw was so tangled and corrupt. You really had to pay attention or you’d miss something imperative. I found myself having to go back and re-read parts of past books to refresh my memory because there was just SO MUCH going on in this world. So many small details that made huge impacts.
I really loved Captain and Victoria together. They were exactly what each other didn’t know they needed. The push and pull between the characters made this such a fun read. The angst was so high and you were chomping at the bit for the fireworks to finally detonate!
Victoria’s love for Captain’s daughter Zoey was on another level. Some of my favorite scenes in the book were between Tor and ZoZo. Their connection to one another was unbreakable. They shared a bond that no one would ever understand. It was breathtaking.
I have no words, just overflowing emotions! This book was perfect. A chaotic storm that couldn’t have been more tragic and happy at the same time. The characters, the plot, the crazy, I loved it all!!! My heart is full!! Bring on Royce!!! My chocolate, burrito loving playboy!
I knew I would love Captain & Victoria’s book but man I FLOVED it! Their story isn’t easy but that’s Brayshaw. Meagan Brandy is a writing genius! She sucks you in and keeps you so engrossed.
I love that we get to get into Captains head. And man what a freaking ride we get to go on. I love seeing the more vulnerable side of him. It just makes you love him so much more. Victoria is fierce. I love how she is with Zoey. So gentle and protective. She’s the perfect match for Cap & Zozo.
I have loved every book in the Brayshaw world! I cannot wait for Royces book!
I’m a big fan of this series and Cap just made me love it even more!
Cap is protective and guarded and he has every reason to be. His family and his amazingly, adorable daughter Zoey are his everything. You have to earn your place in his life because the people that stand with him, have to be willing to fight and die for each other. He can be broody and a jerk sometimes but it just makes me understand that its his protective nature coming out.
Victoria is clearly misunderstood and is hiding things but she has her reasons. Her body and heart can’t resist Cap, they share a chemistry that is electric. The angst about killed me. A slowburn but so much sexual tension I thought I was going to burst. I love her relationship with Zoey, it just pulls hard at my heart strings.
Just a truly irresistible read that had me immersed from beginning to end!
I’ve been waiting for Captian’s story for what seems like forever. I love all the guys but Captian just captivated me. I needed to know his story. There were times I wanted to kick his butt for just being a jerk to Victoria. Victoria was such a contradiction. You think you know what she’s about but actually, she was so much more. Can’t wait for Royce’s book.
This book was a much anticipated read for me this year and it did not disappoint!
I have never wanted to curse and hug (maybe more than hug) characters as much as I have Captain and Victoria but
they were totally worth the stress.
BMB was filled with angst, and twists and turns that you don’t see coming. It was an absolutely perfect fit for Cap.
I can’t wait to see what Meagan brings when it comes to Royce!
Oh wow, this book was so freaking good. Captain and Victoria were quite the pair.
She was so strong and good and brave and loyal even when it hurt her. Cap was broody and complicated, confused and cautious and a jerk at times. These two needed each other but jeez did they make us work for it!
This story hurt so much, I found myself tearing up a lot. These characters, I love them flaws and all. I root for them, turning the page with angst and excitement for what’s to come.
This was a sloooowww burn that torture my soul. I wanted to scream at them to get their s*** together… Communication is key ppls, without it, well bad ppls/situations happens.
I loved every minute of this book. It was everything and more. Victoria is amazing and Zoey is so darn adorable… I was satisfied with the ending. My heart needed to recover. Lol.
Can’t wait for Royce’s story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
Captain Brayshaw is everything I knew he would be and so much more! Victoria Vega is absolutely what he needed and he didn’t even know. Meagan Brandy has delivered another jaw dropping read with Be My Brayshaw.
I loved Victoria in Maddoc and Raven’s books, but my love for her grew into so much more with this book. She’s the girl that holds all the secrets and let’s them out when she knows they are needed. She’s willing to play the villain if it means others get to be happy. She’s really good at staying in the shadows and watching, after all it’s what she was groomed to do. Her childhood was beyond rough. But Victoria had a backbone and stood up for what she believed in from the very start. She was willing to wish her safety because it saved someone else. Victoria’s loyalty was given before it was even earned. She is something that the Brayshaws never saw coming and didn’t know how to take her. Captain, the man we all love. The loyal, unforgiving man, who just can’t seem to get his head on straight. Zoey is finally with him and has everyone in that house wrapped around her finger without even trying. The problem is Victoria knew and didn’t say anything. To Captain and the others she betrayed them, but in reality she gave them a gift they never knew they had.
Meagan Brandy doesn’t skip any emotions with BMB. My feelings were all over the place. I cried, man did I cry. My heart just broke into so many pieces for Victoria. The Brayshaws are not easy to win over, and to them she had betrayed them so she was even more in the hole. But Victoria is strong, and she wasn’t letting them keep her down. She also didn’t let them walk all over her. Maybe she didn’t question them when they had things wrong and I understand why she didn’t. Victoria didn’t need Captain, she wanted him. And yes there is a difference. I have to say watching Captain being brought to his knees by Victoria was fantastic. The stronger they are the harder they fall. Add in stupid decisions and you have a rollercoaster. And I’m saying it, so I hopes it not a spoiler. But man do I hate Mallory. And I hate how Captain used her to hurt Victoria. Even if at times he didn’t even realize what he was doing. He’s lucky his mistakes could be undone.
Be My Brayshaw is addicting and perfection. Meagan Brandy gets better and better with each book she writes, which still amazes me because they are all just so amazing. Captain and Victoria’s story is emotional and messy. The pull that these two had towards each other is amazing to read. Victoria was the girl that was looked right past until she wasn’t. She’s the girl with the biggest heart but never shows it. She stays in the shadows and comes out when needed.
Be My Brayshaw is a must read! Meagan Brandy holds nothing back and delivers a well written book. The plot and characters are amazing and her writing just brings them to life. I cannot wait for Royce’s book. And I hope she gives us a Mac and Chloe book because there is so much more to them than what we see.
CAPTAIN!!!! Gah!!! I’ve been waiting for his book and OH MY GOD I love him even more now!! Granted, he was kind of a dick and I wanted to punch him myself lol, but gah, how can you just not love Captain!? Victoria was just amazing. You get to see her role in his daughters life and just why exactly his daughter means so much to her. It really put things into perspective for you because as a parent, you look at an outsider being so attached to your kid with a “why do they have any right acting this way, it’s not their child.” With that said, I really appreciated the way Meagan wove Victoria into her life, it made you appreciate Victoria all the more and not look at her like she was stepping over a line by being so attached. The hardest part of Cap and Victoria’s story was lack of communication. They caused most of their problems together, and that’s where that angst comes in. You just want to shake them for being so stupid for not communicating and causing themselves all this drama! That though, is one of my favorite things about reading, when an author can bring out those emotions that make you want to yell at the pages! Meagan pulled out all the feels for me in Cap & Victoria’s story and I’m just so freaking happy to be back in Brayshaw world to enjoy it once again!
“ , ℂ,” . “ , .”
Be My Brayshaw is absolutely everything you want, expected and didn’t know you needed from the Brayshaw world. The angst level of this story was out of this world!
The Brayshaw world is in a league of its own. From the first time I read BOBH (book 1), instantly fell I love. I wanted to live, breathe and be everything that was Brayshaw. I became completely obsessed with Raven and the boys and all the supporting characters especially Bass and Victoria.
Victoria while introduce in BOBH, she made her mark in TAB (book 2). It felt like she came out no where with her insight and secrets and completely shook up the Brayshaw world.
Be My Brayshaw gives us a whole new insight of the Brayshaw world in a way I didn’t know I needed. It gave you answers to questions, I didn’t think to ask. It dissected secrets and truths in such a way that gave me chills.
The character development throughout BMB is unparalleled. Meagans has this ability to show you every facet of a character (the good, bad and ugly) and still make you fall head over heals in love with them. Every single person has a purpose and a place, there is never anything or anyone randomly thrown in.
I thought no other books of this series could
top the first ones, even if I was looking forward
to this one … but ohh was I wrong. I was definitely
surprised and blown away. This book was EVERYTHING!!!
Captain’s book was so, so good and so much more.
Really can’t out into words, you really have to read it
I’m order to understand.I’ll leave it at that because
otherwise there’d be spoilers
I was really looking forward to Captains book. Unfortunately , I’ was disappointed in the way his story was told. I tried to think out of the box to try and connect with Captain and Victoria but, it just didn’t work for me. There were some sweet scenes though with Zoey. Meagan hit the mark with Zo Zo! (Zoey)
Other then that Captain was out of character and Victoria had so much potential but, was written in a way that left me confused.
This has been one heck of a series about the Brayshaw boys and our Queen, Raven. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Captain and Victoria. We saw snippets of her in earlier books, but I didn’t really understand the attraction between her and Captain. It seemed to just “be there” right from the start, so I didn’t connect well with it. I wanted more from Captain. He had his reasons for keeping Victoria at a distance, but the stance on his behavior lasted a little too long for me. Great series, but sadly this didn’t wow me.
I was so happy to go back to The Brayshaws, I didn’t know I was missing my girl Raven and all the guys, Maddoc and Royce. And the top of cherry was the adorable Zozo. I love we got this family vibe with Victoria and Zoey living with all the Brayshaw family.
This was a lovely journey, Victoria never had something that belongs to her she always felt like the one in the shadows, she always wanted a family or a place to belong, she only can have what others gave her, until now.
Now she belongs to a family, now she has a sister, now she is a Brayshaw.
But she knew it won’t be easy, it’s not easy to be a part of a closed circle… The Brayshaw.
And Captain didn’t make it easy for her, nevertheless he made her suffer, this is the part of the book that I didn’t enjoy, for me, Captain was mean to her and I wanted to punch him on his pretty face. I wish Victoria would have made him suffer at the end, he deserved some pain, well without telling you too much of the story he suffered at the end. Well deserved, don’t mess with my Rora.
Can Zozo be more adorable, I really love all the interactions she had, she was the most cutest baby girl, sigh Royce and her are something you don’t want miss. Love the beautiful epilogue at the end and the beginning of what we all are expecting. Royce’s book!!! Can’t wait for more Brayshaw!!!
Well I didn’t think this series could get any better, but…it has. Spoiler alert, this book is amazeballs. The push and pull of Captain and Victoria…off the charts tension, and passion. The secrets, lies, twists and turns kept me reading this book well into the morning hours. There was just so much going on in this book, and just when you think you have everything figured out, the author is like “naw, man hold my beer, watch this.” Then she WRECKS you.
I have been waiting and waiting patiently I might add for this book. The second I got my greedy hands on it, it became apparent, I was doing nothing but reading. I am so glad that I waited on this, and was patient because it did not let me down. The characters as always as super well thought out, and the story is just spellbinding. Told in dual pov, this story wows the reader, and makes you feel like you are right there in the story. A must read for the summer.
4.5 / 5
I can’t begin to describe how excited I was to enter the Brayshaw world again. I missed Raven, the boys, Zoey, the drama, the twists… everyone and everything!
Victoria seriously owns my heart. I don’t care what anyone says. Rae Rae is still my top girl but she’s right behind her. She’s strong, loyal, selfless.. such a great heroine! The whole mystery upon her only made me want to know more and more. She’s the perfect fit for our Pacman!
Captain once more showed his strength and devotion to his family. We get to see other sides of him once he’s exposed to certain situations. There were so many layers and all I wanted was to unveil them. Sometimes, I found myself not appreciating his behavior towards Victoria. It seemed unfair even when he didn’t have every piece to complete the puzzle she was. And what a puzzle…
Zoey is such a precious and lovable kid. Reading about her with Cap and Tor swooned me away! And can I get more scenes of her with the boys? Because don’t even get me started on how adorable Royce and Maddoc were with her. Oh, and can we get Daddy Maddoc already? I’m so eager for him! He went over the charts to make sure his queen and prince/princess were safe. I’m sure both will be amazing parents and I’m avid to witness it!
The bond that they all share is out of this world!! The way they know what’s going on through each’s mind without having to say a word or how they expect every single reaction from the other… I love it!
I’ve always had a hard time choosing my favorite between the guys because different things drive me towards each one and they all work as one. And I still can’t quite figure it, ahah. Maybe once I read Royce’s book, I will be able to decide. We get a hint of it at the end and let me just say: bring it! He’s easily the funniest among them all and I’m sure he’ll make me laugh and smile a lot. There’s also so many to discover about him. I can’t wait!
