This series centers around a wedding planning business called Something Borrowed. The first two stories were about employees of the business. Now we finally get to the story of the owner/founder Kelly. I have to admit, Kelly didn’t really ever give me the warm fuzzy vibe in the other books, regardless of her profession. Happily, getting to know her in this story, she really stole my heart.
Chris is Kelly’s best friend. They’ve actually been friends since 8th grade!!! That’s a long time to be friends with someone regardless of their sex. Turns out, the thing that keeps their friendship strong through the years is also the thing that keeps them at “just friends”. I adore the friends to lovers trope so I thoroughly enjoyed watching Kelly and Chris become aware of each other and their real feelings.
Kelly sometimes tended to twist things Chris said into a pretzel and get mad. That was a bit much and it happened a bit too often. But for his part, Chris did have some kind of wall up whenever things started getting too real. So sometimes I couldn’t blame her for her attitude.
The dreams Chris had in this book were so touching. And (trying not to give too much away) when he had his heart to heart with Mrs. J. I was bawling like a baby. The author definitely was able to squeeze the emotions out of me with this one.
Not only did I cry while reading this story, but I also felt the chemistry. I have no doubt Chris and Kelly were wonderful, platonic friends in the past. But that friend connection seemed to only deepen their sexual chemistry once they stopped fighting their attraction. It was wonderful.
The more I get to know the people in this town the more I want to continue to get to know.

I really enjoyed this friends to lovers story. I like Kelly and Chris a lot. Their past has their feelings all mixed up and it was fun to see them unravel and acknowledge those feelings. Kelly is the owner of Something Borrowed. With her business being all about weddings she is constantly surrounded by people in love. Her own HEA never happened when her fiance was killed but it’s been ten years and she needs to get back out there and live. She soon figures out love might be closer than she thought.
This is a very well done story with great writing and characters. I highly recommend it.
This is a cute friends to lovers book. When Chris was thirteen, he had a crush on Kelly, but didn’t act on it as his best friend Ray asked her out first. The three of them became great friends , and Ray and Kelly become engaged. Ray is killed in combat a few years after high school. Chris moves back home to be near his best friend Kelly. Ten years have past and Kelly is finally starting to date again. Chris begins to realize that perhaps he has more than friendly feelings for his dead best friend’s girlfriend. Both of them have to get past the ghost of Ray to get to their happily ever after.
For Kelly Barrow the love business has been good to her. She gets to help others find their happily ever after even though hers didn’t pan out. With a love of a wonderful family and a little help from her friends she may have the chance to discover her own fairy tale ending. Be Mine, Sweetheart is a friends to lovers romance. Chris may have been relegated to the friend zone, but he won’t take that lying down. Gary has a way of pouring on the charm with a handful of heartache in between.
A great book of friends to lovers. Chris and Kelly have been friends since high school, in fact she was suppose to marry their mutual friend, until he died in the military. For the next ten years Kelly and Chris have been inseparable, but now Chris wants to take their relationship up one notch. But are they both afraid of loosing what they have in their friendship? Kelly is the owner of Something Borrowed, so she is always around the HEA.
A fun read that I had a hard time putting down. Great characters, who would do anything for each other. This is the third book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. Loved this series.
