Fall in love at Bayside, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod. Bayside Summers is a series of standalone steamy romance novels featuring alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They’re fun, flirty, flawed, deeply emotional, always passionate, and easy to relate to. Gavin is about to find out that Harper really does exist—and … really does exist—and she’s going to knock his socks off! Find out for yourself in Bayside Romance!
When screenwriter Harper Garner got a shot at the big-time in LA, she celebrated her brave cross-country move with her first and only one-night stand—connecting so deeply with the sexy, brilliant man, she broke the number-one rule of one-night stands and left her phone number. Not hearing from him was only the first in a long line of hope-shattering, confidence-busting blows. Ten months later, Harper is done with men and done with LA. She pulls up her big-girl panties and heads home to Cape Cod to start over.
On the surface, interior designer Gavin Wheeler has it all: a successful business, a loving family, and a close-knit group of friends. But Gavin once endured a heartbreak so painful, he was sure he’d never feel anything for a woman again. A chance encounter at a music festival with a gorgeous, down-to-earth blonde proved him wrong, but when morning came, the woman who made him crave more was gone.
A serendipitous evening reunites Harper with her devastatingly delicious one-night stand, and the connection is just as intense as she remembered. Harper’s life is too unsettled for a relationship, but Gavin is determined to help her find her way, especially if it leads straight to his heart. Moonlight conversations lead to steamy kisses, and as romance blooms, it stirs a love too real to deny. But when Gavin’s past collides with the life they’re building, it has the power to ruin everything.

This book was a great fresh air story with beautiful places to fall in love and very reliable characters. I loved how the love bloomed between them even a few moments of angst was necessary to grow this love story and their relationship. Steamy and fulfilling story overall. I want to read the other books as well as there are a few side characters that got my attention.
Holy Sweetest Man in the World, Batman! Gavin seriously made me swoon. Like, literally swoon! He let Harper get away once, he’s not going to let it happen again. And while Harper has some issues from bad experiences over the last year, she can’t seem to resist Gavin. I can’t blame her…he’s truly irresistible.
The premise of onset of Gavin and Harper is that they met before and had a one night stand of sorts. Something way out of character for both of them, but even back when they met and decided to go all in and have a short fling, there was a connection that neither of them could deny. And, of course, fate threw Harper right in Gavin’s path so they could get it right this time.
Although Gavin is extremely sweet and wants Harper to follow her dreams, sometimes I did find him a bit too accommodating. He was ready to jump in to help her reach her goals, but somehow forgot to ever ask if her goals had changed since she returned home. While you would think that would give Harper more confidence, I felt it often shuttered her feelings.
Regardless, these two are like peas and carrots. Made for each and undeniably right for each other. I loved reading about their journey and, most of all, watching Harper blossom once she was free of the stress that had bogged her down for so long.

OHHH. I have been waiting for Gavin’s story and it did not disappoint. This was such a swoon-worthy book and Gavin lived up to all the hype 🙂
No one was more surprised to see Harper than Gavin. The mysterious Harper that his friends kept talking about ended up being the girl who got away… literally. After looking for “Parker” the girl he meets one weekend a year ago… Harper was his girl… now he just had to show her they were meant to be.
After returning from Los Angeles, Harper was feeling like a failure. She had thought no stop about the guy she met a year ago, and after a few failed relationships this past year she just didn’t trust herself.
So when she sees Gavin hanging with her family of friends, she’s shocked and MAD. She left her number for him but he never called.
Once the two find out of the missed opportunities, Gavin is determined more than ever to make Harper his for good.
I loved Gavin and his persistence to get Harper into his everyday life. He knew from the moment they met, she was the one. Harper had a lot to work through. Her confidence in herself and her work was at an all-time low. Having Gavin there to encourage her through every step was fun to watch.
Once I started I just couldn’t put the book down… It was an all-nighter with Gavin and Harper. I should have known I wouldn’t be able to read, just one chapter.
Bayside Romance by Melissa Foster is a second chance romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan.
This is the first book of Melissa’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. It was absolutely amazing. It took you through all the emotions and you can’t help but fall in love with Gavin and Harper. I can’t wait to read more books from the Seaside Summers Series.
Savannah and Jacob did an amazing job on the narration. They are an amazing duo and I look forward to their future projects.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Second Chance Romances or Sweet Romances.

I absolutely loved this book! It is the perfect happy ever after love story that is more than just that. Almost like fate had a hand in bringing these two people together from an unplanned meeting to connections with friends that wasn’t even known until the time was right. This is the first book in this series that I have listened to and can honestly say that this can be read as a stand-alone.
Ms. Foster has a wonderful way of pulling you in to a book. Yo can’t help but fall in love with the characters and want to move to their town. Bayside Romance is another is a long list of Foster books that I wanted to jump right in to and never leave. You feel like the characters are part of your life. I love that all the books and series are interconnected because you get to catch up with all those “friends” again.
Harper and Gavin get their second chance at romance. I love Gavin. He is what we expect from a Foster man, strong, determined, and falls in love hard. I had a bit harder time connecting with Harper. I really liked her I just wish she had a bit more confidence in herself. I can’t wait to see who we get to meet next!
Bayside Romance
Bayside Summers, Book 5
By: Melissa Foster
Narrated by: Savannah Peachwood, Jacob Morgan
When I am looking for a book that is low angst, high in romance and has a good steam factor, Melissa Foster is the author I look for. Gavin and Harper’s story is swoon worthy and had me smiling all day as I listened. Harper is back home after a failed attempt at making it in LA. She is unhappy, had a couple of bad relationships, and her job didn’t pan out as anticipated. But what she doesn’t anticipate when getting back is bumping into her one night stand, Gavin. And their story picks up from there. It’s impossible not to love this couple. Harper has dreams, but doesn’t know exactly how she wants to have them play out. Gavin is a nurturer, and helps her not only with work, but family and to find her happy place. But things can’t always be perfect! When a secret is revealed, will it pull them apart? It’s warm and loving, has some really good background stories that can be featured in future releases and just makes us realize that things can always get better. I loved these two, couldn’t help but fall in love with Gavin and love having the characters from previous books pop in.
Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan narrate Harper and Gavin with such clarity, that it’s hard to believe they aren’t real. Peachwood became Harper, and I could feel her frustration, and indecision, and later feel her change. When a narrator can do that, you know they are good! Morgan enhances the story with his ability to give Gavin that swoony feel, like we could just hug him! It’s a great performance!

Loved it so much! Gavin & Harper reconnect after an encounter a year ago, and have to figure out if they can reconnect romantically. Though they both have things to get over, I loved their chemistry and how much they cared for each other! The book sucked me in from the start and made it impossible to put down!
When does a one night fling become more? For Gavin and Harper that is exactly what happened. Gavin met ‘Parker’ at a festival and his one night with her left him realising she was the one that got away. That is until he meets Harper, and realises that she is the one that got away and he had got her name wrong! I love their beginning and the mis-communication, he got her name wrong and had no way to contact her only discover that Harper had in fact left her name and number on a piece of paper that she put in the wee front pocket of his suitcase – no one puts anything in there so he had no need to check in it!
Their story could be best one yet out of the Bayside Summer series, Gavin is the perfect book boyfriend and his care and attention with Harper as well as their chemistry is off the charts, though he comes with secrets, secrets that my threaten his relationship with Harper. Harper has sworn off relationships but it willing to try with Gavin, but will his secrets be too much for her? You will have to read to find out!
Once again Melissa has taken us down the road of love with their story and I know I say it all the time but I don’t know how she can make each book different!

Bayside Romance
Bayside Summers, Book 5
By: Melissa Foster
Narrated by: Savannah Peachwood, Jacob Morgan
I enjoyed everything about this sweet romance, from Melissa Foster’s wonderful writing style to the characters and storylines she created. The story is completely engrossing, the characters were realistic and easy to relate to. I liked Harper right from the start, her response to her seat mate on the plane was too funny. Harper is one her way home after the TV show she was working on was cancelled. She is back home with her friends and family. When she goes to hang with them she is surprised to see someone she thought she never would see again, Gavin, her one and only one night stand. The one who never called. I just adored Gavin, he is such a nice guy, he has not had luck in the romance department, then he meets someone he clicks with and has a memorable night with her, he was disappointed she left without saying goodbye. A year later and he still could not get her out of his mind. Then he gets the biggest surprise, he had her name wrong and it turns out Harper is that person and she is friends with his friends. She is not that happy to see him, since he never called her, but he never had her number. I loved how their story played out, it is beautifully plotted with drama, laughs, just a touch of angst and plenty of hot romance. Secondary characters are awesome too. I enjoyed this book as a stand-alone and am looking forward to checking out the other books in this series. Melissa Foster, thank you for this great story, it is a great blend of Sweet, hot and heartfelt.
I listened to the Audible edition, Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan are wonderful narrators and voice performers. They bring these characters to life, give each their own distinct sound and personality. They set the perfect tone for the story. You can hear how much heart they bring as they project the emotions of the characters into their performance. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen

After spending a year working in California, screenwriter Harper Garner has returned to Cape Cod. Harper needs to get back on track; emotionally, romantically and professionally. Her self-confidence is at a low point-her dating radar wasn’t working in LA , her cable series was cancelled and she can’t bring herself to tell her family that her cross country move was a HUGE mistake.
Harper meets her friends at a bonfire and comes face to face with Gavin Wheeler; her best friend’s business partner. Harper and Gavin had an intense one night stand at a music festival before she left for California.
Melissa Foster write a fabulous love story for thus couple. I loved that Harper and Gavin had a connection-their past could have been awkward but the author chose to focus on the positives. As Harper was telling her friends about her life in LA, Gavin felt that something was not quite right with Harper. I liked that he acknowledged their connection first, reached out to her and listened to her story without judgement.
I adored Gavin – he’s sweet, kind and is willing to put Harper’s needs first. He’s an interior designer who excels at creating beautiful homes for his clients- but he’s forgotten to make his house his home. I loved that he was neat and organized and was so surprised to discover that when Harper was writing–her cottage was littered with paper. Harper thrived in chaos—Gavin needs organization. Loved that Gavin gave Harper space and that he understood that she needed to regain her self-confidence.
Melissa Foster serves up a fun, flirty, sexy twist second chance romance in Bayside Romance. Loved the sexual chemistry between Harper and Gavin—it’s intense, emotional and very real. The couple learned to listen, trust and love each other during the novel. Gavin and Harper’s relationship is tested when a secret is accidentally revealed towards the end of the novel. Melissa Foster doesn’t make it easy for this couple—their story is comprised of several life lessons—as they figure out how to move forward together.
Another great emotional read from Melissa Foster! I can’t get enough of her books. She makes me feel so many emotions and I can’t devour them fast enough.
This book is no different! Get this book and fall in love with Melissa Foster’s greatness!!
I received this book for an honest review.
I am going to be honest. I fell behind so badly on my reviews after the family caught a nasty bug that took me down. I hate that I fell behind and have been working diligently to catch up while also staying caught up with my other obligations. That being said, I finally got the opportunity to dive in and read.
Bayside Romance is book 5 of the Bayside Summer series. I have not read the previous books so I felt a little lost when it came to other characters and their relationships. This didn’t hinder my ability to read it, but left me feeling a little left out of their secrets, if that makes sense. I will probably go back and read them at some point so maybe I can better understand this one.
This book focuses on Gavin and Harper, who had a previous one night stand that ended with Gavin believing Harper had a different name. When Harper returns from LA, she runs into Gavin and sparks reignite as the two get to know each other. The tension between them is palpable and you can feel it in each word that is written.
Gavin is a sweet hero, but definitely not memorable. He is the type of guy that is perfect for Harper though and that’s what counts. Their romance is one for the books and definitely emotion packed as it continues to build and flourish.
All in all, the details of the book helped me create a scene in my mind that really helped the story and I wanted to know what was going to happen. Their love story is beautifully written. I definitely feel like I would have felt a lot less confused had I read the other books in the series, but it is unnecessary as this is a Standalone Novel.
4 beautiful stars. Go grab the first book in the series if you haven’t read it yet, I know I will be!
Read: 9/24/19
Bayside Romance was the fifth book in the Bayside Summers series by Melissa Foster. Although connected with the series, it can be read as a stand-alone.
We met Gavin Wheeler in previous books as Serena’s business partner. He had moved with Serena from Boston (Bayside Heat, book three) to start their own design studio at the Cape. He was gorgeous, talented, confident and single.
Harper Garner was the sister to Jana and Brock (books six and nine respectively from Foster’s Bayside Seaside Summer series – also set in a small Cape town). She had spent a year in LA as a screenwriter following her dream and was now back at the Cape licking some wounds. She was a shadow of her former beautiful and confident self.
Gavin and Harper met previously at a random music festival in Virginia and had a one night stand. They both had the best night of their lives but never expected to see each other again. Although only a year had passed, they had changed. Foster took us through their reunion as well as the baggage they carried with them. Foster also included details surrounding Harper’s career, adding more depth to the storyline. Although it was steamy and sexy, it also had a sweet vibe with little conflict. However, I might add, the conflict that was noted, wasn’t much of a conflict and was a bit overreacted.
Otherwise, true to Foster’s style, it was well written and well developed. Foster also incorporated characters from multiple series, showing the six degrees of separation, adding depth to the storyline. With that said, Bayside Romance can still be read as a stand-alone and will provide intrigue for her other series.
All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read. Foster set the stage for more within Bayside Summers for Tegan, Jock and Daphne as well as Justin and his siblings in The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside. And Beckett…we have to have Beckett’s story soon. And Colton….I’m not sure where he’ll fit, but he has great promise as well. So many characters, so little time…
I believe this is a first for me by Melissa Foster. The writing was good, the story for me was just ok. I think in the beginning just with the way how it started, sorta made me feel like I missed a big chunk of how Gavin and Harper met (the one-night stand that we didn’t see happen). Sometimes its a good thing because I’m already thrown into a relationship with the main couple knowing each other? I just have a hate/love feeling with this kind of start, it just depends on my mood. I loved how sweet Gavin is and this story for sure had a drama moment. I think I wanted something more or different to happen especially with the drama. But overall this was a cute read. I still look forward to reading more of Melissa’s work.
Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood were perfect for these characters.

I loved Harper and Gavin’s journey. It was a sweet and fun romance with very little conflict between them on their journey. Harper’s growth and getting herself on track personally was the center of conflict in this story. However, at the end, as one normally finds in these stories, there’s a thing that does involve Gavin, but I have no clue why it was even part of the book. In my opinion, it didn’t need it and it just felt thrown in and blown way out of proportion. So yeah, at the end I was like … whyyyyyyyyy?? Lol
I’ve kept up with this series so for me, it was a huge plus that previous characters played a role in the story. That’s what I love about a series. I got to smile once again for each couple. It’s a great feeling. And there is quite a bit of that in this story. It’s a great group of friends that share history and fun times and they talk and laugh about them, so I personally feel like this series would be best read from the beginning. PLUS, it’s a great series of friends, so why not?! 🙂
I loved Harper and Gavin’s story!
Melissa Foster’s characters are alwsays so thought out and relatable that reading her books feels like returning to hang out with old friends.
Returning home after the bottom falls out of her life, Harper returns home to lick her wounds and gets the chance to reconnect with Gavin, the man she spent one unforgettable night with.
What follows is a tale of learning to trust and to be open to the possibilities for their future together.
Another /5 read!
This was super sweet.
We have Harper and Gavin; they had a fantastic night together months ago and neither has been able to forget about it. They had no way of contacting each other, so aside from being frustrated, they thought they’d never see each other again.
Ten months later and fate has other idea.
I liked these two a lot. Harper was lovely and what she went though was awful and so unfair, and despite bringing her down, she still finds the strength to start over.
I loved Gavin, I loved his love of life. He was such an optimistic guy, not letting Harper stay down. I really wanted to be his friend, lol.
This was super lovely, I loved these two interactions and it was such fun to read how they interacted with their friends.
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*
Bayside Romance is an epic romance you’ll want to read on a weekly basis! If this story doesn’t make you swoon, smile, laugh or even tear up a little…you didn’t read this book, lol. Step aside Mr. Darcy, for Gavin Wheeler is what every single book boyfriend should be based upon!
