Fall in love at Bayside, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod. Bayside Summers is a series of standalone steamy romance novels featuring alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They’re fun, flirty, flawed, deeply emotional, always passionate, and easy to relate to. In BAYSIDE HEAT…Drake Savage has always done the right thing, … always done the right thing, especially where beautiful and fiercely determined Serena Mallery is concerned-even when it means keeping his feelings for her to himself. Serena has always wanted more than what their small town of Wellfleet, Massachusetts has to offer, and Drake’s roots are so deeply entrenched in the Cape, it’s all he can do to watch her pack up her life and move away.
Serena has always had big dreams. As a teenager she dreamed of becoming an interior designer and marrying smart, musically inclined, sexy-as-sin Drake Savage. Now she’s finally landed a killer job with a top interior design firm, but though she has spent the last four years working side by side with Drake, he’s never made a move. Four years is long enough for her to accept reality, and her new job in Boston is the perfect way to move on.
A weak moment leads to sizzling, sensual kisses, opening a door through which they’ve both been aching to walk. But Serena’s determined not to give up her shot at the career she’s always dreamed of, and Drake has loved her for too many years to stand in her way. With true love at their fingertips and a world of unstoppable passion igniting between them, can the two star-crossed lovers find their way to their happily ever after?

I really enjoyed this next installment in the Bayside series. Drake and Serena take the lead in this friends to lovers story. They finally take a chance after a childhood crush and years of strictly friendship. I loved the way they really spoke to and supported each other. Even when they could have easily blamed distance as a reason to give up and not let the relationship progress. I loved how they were independently driven and yet willing to sacrifice for each other. I just loved the overall romantic and realistic feel of this story.
I really really loved the dual narrators brought on for this one. I haven’t heard much Aidan Snow previously but I know I enjoy his voice and this is a good example of his strong performance. Ava Erickson is another voice I don’t seem to get much of lately but really like. Both narrators are ones I would enjoy hearing again.
I really enjoyed reading this book!! I couldn’t put it down!!
Overall 5 out of 5 stars
Performance 5 out of 5 stars
Story 5 out of 5 stars
Serena has loved drake for years. He has loved her almost as long. He has spent these past four years being close to her, spending time with her in all things. They have worked side-by-side and now that is all about to come to an end. It was time that Drake makes a move on the one woman in the world that he could not see his world without, but its her chance to live her dream. He refuses to stand in the way of her get what she has dreamed of for years.
The heat of the encounters was like slicing through a very thick fog. These two were meant to be with each other and the time has come to put up or shut up about it all. Thank all the stars in the sky for good friends, family, and a small town that loved them both so much. Drake had to step up and make this happen.
Serena had everything she wanted. But something was still missing from her life. She was determined to figure it out on her own. Watching Serena and Drake find there way to each other was just so damn hot. The sizzle of there interaction began for me with an innocent mention of being tied up (not that way). Melissa Foster brings me a strong, small-town romance with great friends, a chosen family, and strong intense love. Meeting Serena and Drake gave me more doors to open and more that I want to open.
I absolutely love Aiden Snow and Ava Erickson in this romance. Ava gives the female character richness, sweetness, and a level of steel that was feminine and still strong. Aiden added that extra level of sexy, strong, stern, protective male with all the pitches, tones, and more.
I applaud Ms. Foster for writing some good romance without a lot of over the top drama between the couple. Serena and Drake have tip-toed around one another for years trying to hold in their attractions to one another to keep their friendship and also allow each other to grow and take their lives on the journey they each needed. What they didn’t know was that their journey really only started when they finally opened up to each other and explored their relationship. It wasn’t until Serena finally made the move to leave that Drake finally showed it true feelings that he had been harboring for years.
I love that this was just a romance story about a couple that even though they were friends and knew each other for years, just opened themselves up to a romance between each other. The story wasn’t full of extra drama and craziness that I sometimes see and it’s refreshing when I read this kind of story. Just a steady progression of how two people can fall in love and make things work for them.
I listened to this on audio and the narrators were great!
Melissa always delivers and always leaves the reader wanting to read the next story in the series.
Absolutely loved this book. Bran is straight lace, by the book, wants everything in order according by his plan. Plans are meant to be changed. Ireland is a spitfire redhead with her eyes set on Bran. Funny banter and great plot. Love all the brothers. Can’t wait to read the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed this advance reader copy of this book
So glad to get back to the Bayside family. The story of Drake and Serena was excellent. All these books make you feel like you’re in one big happy family.
Really just a silly, predictable book. I generally love the author, so this was a bit of a disappointment.
Really would give this solid 3.5. Somewhat formulaic addition to the series. I had the entire plot figured out at 25% but it was worth the read to head back to the cape and to meet up with the bayside gang.
4.5 Beautiful Friends to Lovers Stars!
This third book in the Bayside Summers series was a beautiful friends to lovers romance! Drake and Serena have been best friends for years, and they know each other better than they know themselves. Drake has always wanted Serena, but never wanted to hold her back from achieving all her dreams. Serena is resigned that she can never have Drake, so she takes a job in Boston to move on with her life. This is the catalyst that Drake needs to finally be honest about his feelings for her. But Serena now lives hours away so they will have to work hard to have the love they always wanted. But big city jobs and commitments soon get in the way of Serena being with the people she loves most. Drake has enjoyed his own success, so will make any sacrifice for them to be together. I loved the way that Serena and Drake fell easily into their new romantic relationship. Their strong friendship effortlessly became a robust and fiery romance. I loved Serena and Drake together so much, they fit so seamlessly, had explosive chemistry, that I really cheered for their HEA! This is a beautiful, heartfelt, and charming story filled with fun banter, quirky characters, awkward situations, and fiery chemistry.
Ava Erickson, and Aiden Snow were perfectly cast as Serena and Drake. They delivered the characterizations, anticipation, and passion so flawlessly, making me see both Serena and Drake so clearly in my mind, that I was easily lost in the story. I was so invested in their performance and in these characters, that I was totally captivated from start to finish.
I loved this fun, sweet & sexy romance, and want more of these wonderful friends and family of Bayside!
**Edit to my original review**
I just listened to the audio book narrates by Ava Erickson and Aden Snow . I just love the narration. I listen in my car going back and forth to work. It makes my commute bareable.
OMG I loved this book. Drake and Serena have been long time friends. The question is, have they been romantically together in the past? With Serena moving away to take her dream job. What will happen? I can’t say enough about this book. I loved, loved, loved, it.

5 Star Review of Bayside Heat (Bayside Summers #3) by Melissa Foster
Audio Review:
Having already read a previous book in this series, I was looking forward to listening to this one. As I expected Melissa Foster did a great job and the narrators Ava Erickson and Aiden Snow really brought Bayside Heat to life for me.
Drake Savage and Serena Mallery have been mentioned in previous books and I was looking forward to listening to their story. I particularly enjoy friends to lovers stories and this one did not disappoint.
The chemistry between Drake and Serena was intense and it was great to catch up with other characters from the series.
All in all an enjoyable listen.
I listened to the audio version of this book.
Bayside Heat is classic Melissa Foster. Her characters are rich in personal drive and respect for themselves and their mates. Serena and Blake are characters we’ve been watching for the last several books. They have each acknowledged their attraction to each other, but Blake refused to act on it. Serena is finally giving up on ever getting to be with him even though her friends keep telling her that he is very interested in her. She decides to be strong and leave for her dream job in interior design. The threat of her leaving may finally force his hand (and other body parts) to give into his desire for her.
Serena may have to give up either the job she’s always waited for or the man she’s always waited for. How can she possibly choose? You’ll just have to read it to find out!
I was given this audio book by the author. All thoughts are my own.
I’m really liking this author, this is my second book by Melissa.
These two characters are great together and yet so frustrating. You want them to wake up and see what’s under their noses, but then the story would be over too quick. I had to google this location, it sounds lovely. A sweet romance with a lot of sizzle will have you enjoying this book. Gotta love a friends to lovers story.
I loved the premise of this book. Drake and Serena captured my heart from the beginning. Though their coming together was explosive and quite a long time coming even where the reader comes in. The fix for their situation was apparent fairly early and for as smart as Serena is it took her a long time to come to what, I believe, as the reader was right in front of her. Overall, this was an excellent summer read to get lost in.
I always walk away from a Foster book wishing I could be part of the world she has created. You can’t help but to want these characters to be your friends. Drake and Serena have that perfect friend to lovers romance. They have a great friendship that is an even better foundation to start their romance. They each believed friendship was their only option but with a little push in the form a new job they finally have the hope that they could have everything they ever wanted. I love the drive Drake has to get what he wants…Serena. This book was hot and steamy and a perfect read for a steamy summer day.
I love this book. I am not new to Melissa Foster and have read all the books in this series so. With each book I find myself lost in the amazing friendships, the wonderful relationship, and the beautiful settings. The friendships are so strong and so real that I never doubt that the gals and guys will all grow old together without ever losing sight of each other. The relationships are dreamlike with the trust, the faith, and the love their share with each other.
Bayside Heat is the story of Drake and Serena. They have been friends forever, best friends during the last 4 years that they have worked together, and the attraction between them started from the first day they met. In any setting they coupled up, not romantically, but sitting together, being on the same team, just being a pair. The more they are together the more the rest of the group see the attraction, feel the heat, and recognize that they have to be together. There are a few comments but mostly they let Serena and Blake figure it out on their own. I love that there was support, a small push, but mostly it was up to the actual couple to figure out how to get together.
In true Melissa Foster style, Drake goes above and beyond winning Serena over. He is the most understanding, loving, accepting, and trusting man yet he is an alpha male with a strong opinion that he isn’t afraid to share. In other words, he is the perfect book boyfriend. Serena is self-assured, knows what her goals are and is not afraid to go after them. When she opens her heart to Drake she gives 100% of herself and never considers looking anywhere else.
Bayside Heat is a friend to lovers romance. I could not put it down. Pick up your own copy and beet these wonderful Bayside friends.
With the last few books I have read I have fast become a big Melissa Foster fan. her writing makes me swoon with the amazing cast of characters she gives us. I’m always left smiling with her flawless smooth writing and she has given us a story with minimal angst but so many beautiful feels.
Friends to lovers is one of my favourite storylines. I always love watching these friendships develop and the angst that goes on between them until they admit their feelings.
Drake and Serena have been close friends for years after growing up together and Serena being best friends with Drake’s sister Mira. They have both had feelings for each other but put them in the ‘friendszone’ from early on. Now Serena is moving out to Boston so Drake has to open up to what he has hidden or lose her forever.
Considering the distance between them, although 1 1/2 hours isn’t too bad, its more the work commitments that cause problems, the drama between them is minimal as they communicate well and work together to keep their relationship on the right track. They are so well suited and matched <3
It was lovely seeing the other couples again, along with some new addtitions to the group. I am so looking forward to Violet's book! I think it will be quite the gripping read.
Another brilliant read from Melissa to melt your heart.
This story has tons of love and passion as only Melissa Foster can write it. It also has the two main characters eating their hearts out for a love not fulfilled and not spoken about. You can well imagine what happens when they relinquish their denial for each other and… Well that’s what this story is about.
Mixed in you will find a wonderful supporting system of family and friends that just round this book off nicely.
Drake and Serena are two very strong characters who are meant for each other. I simply loved their tale and am quite happy to recommend it to all lovers as a great romantic read. Enjoy!
Melissa Foster continues to WOW me with her words. She paints a picture so real that I feel like I’m hanging out on the Cape or in P-Town right alongside the characters. And then Serena and Drake? Just. Yes. These two are all the things.
Friends-to-Lovers. I can’t say enough about this trope. But at the same time, I tend to like all tropes. This trope though, this one always gives me hope that friends can become more. It’s the ultimate teenage fantasy, right?
And in this case, Serena and Drake have wanted each other for more years than either cares to admit. But when they finally come together?! BOOM. The title is no joke, guys. Bayside Heat brings the HEAT.
I hate to admit that I have not read the other books in this series. I don’t know how that keeps happening, but somehow I always grab a Melissa Foster book from somewhere in the middle of the set. However, I never felt lost or confused or like I didn’t know the characters. In fact, it made me want to read the books that feature those couples.
I don’t have that kind of time, but I am going to pencil it in for later this year. Just wait. Once I hit that reading goal, I’m going full-on free for all in the book department.
