What do a fifteen-year-old pact, a fake engagement, and a stalker have in common? Audrey Hughes.Audrey’s ex-boyfriend won’t take ‘no’ for an answer. A master manipulator and a violently selfish man, he’s decided Audrey is his property. And he’s determined to get her back. Forcibly, if necessary. She flees to the one place she ever found ‘family’—to Enchantment Bay. More precisely, to Logan Hunter.… More precisely, to Logan Hunter.

It surprises him that she remembered, stuns him that he’s intrigued, and shocks him to discover her reason for returning. He uses all his influence and connections to protect her, only to be the one who causes her unbearable pain and drives her away.
Can Logan find a way to keep Audrey safe, make things right, and mend both their broken hearts?

The Hunters Boxed Set – All the stories of the Hunters Series are good. I’ve read several more of the eight besides the boxed set.
Seaside Surprises #1 – Pleasant surprise! Since this was my first book by Ms. Claflin, I was surprised. The author did great job with her writing, characters, and plot, which immerses the reader into the story. It’s refreshing to read a decent book without explicit sex and profanity and stupidity. I’ll be reading more of Ms. Claflin’s book. She ranks with Maeve Binchy.
Seaside Heartbeats #2 – Intriguing. Another well written, funny romance with heartwarming characters that are real and a twisting plot giving suspense to the story. The Hunters are a good family and each story is fresh, no repeats.
Seaside Dances #3 – Little sad. A well written, intriguing romance with a couple of not so happy characters and all the rest of characters in this series. The plot twists from a sad, slow beginning into fast moving happiness. Not my favorite book of the Hunters series, but still an interesting read.
Seaside Kisses #4 – Heartwarming. A well written, interesting romance with well developed characters with realistic dialog and a good plot. The Hunters’ stories may end the same way, HEA, but getting there is different for each Hunter and soulmate. Ms. Claflin does not disappoint the reader with these eight books.
Seaside Kisses – Unpleasant surprise. The author did a great job writing this book until the main characters went stupid. Why do many authors have their main characters stop believing the people they love and trust the word of people they don’t know personally and know those people are usually scum/trouble? It was an unpleasant surprise, when one of my favorite authors did this near the end. A smart, successful woman goes stupid and insecure, instead of doing the right thing. But Ms. Claflin did take the heads out of the nether regions and put them back on the shoulders of the woman and the love interest. This was still a good book and the author is still one of my favorites.
Bayside Promises #8 – A heavy but with humor story. A well written, intense romance with interesting, believable characters. The heaviness of the father’s destructive behavior towards his family damages his daughters, but they still have a sense of humor, although love is difficult. I didn’t like the father, because of his destruction, but not everything is sunshine and roses. This book is kinda like watching Die Hard when it first hit the screen, it involved your emotions too hard when the causes were exposed to the girls’ thought processes. It is a good story and worth reading.
Bayside Destinies #9 – A heavy but heartwarming story. A well written, intense romance with an intriguing dilemma for the main characters. The characters, all known to us from the rest of the series, are still interesting and appealing. The dialog is realistic and the plot immerses the reader fully. The book is full of humor, even with the dark subject material. Another hard to put down book by an author who can write an interesting story without vulgar language and sex.
Bayside Opposites #10 – Heartwarming romance. A well written, lighthearted romance with two wonderful characters, actually three including the great state of Texas. The well thought out plot and developed characters keep the reader in suspense until the book ends, which is way to soon since the story is so good. Ms. Claflin never fails to deliver a good story and I look forward to reading more of her books.
A wedding pact was made. Teenagers brought together for one summer became close & agreed that if they weren’t married by age 30, they’d marry each other. Then she vanished & never came back to town.
Logan is a successful attorney. He has ate, slept & breathed the law for his firm & has decided to take the summer off. He was relaxing on the beach when a strange woman approached. He couldn’t believe Audrey was finally back.
Audrey was trying to figure a way out of a terrible relationship. She’s told the man to leave her alone but he’s stalking her. She found Logan & reminded him of their long ago pact. Once she had the courage to tell him what was going on, they agreed to a fake engagement to see if that would cause him to back off. Would it work? Would their feelings develop into something more?
Stacy Claflin gives her readers a love story with some drama to pull them in & engage them from the beginning. Her characters are well developed & three dimensional. They are realistic & has something the readers can identify with. The plot has twists & turns that keep you reading longer than you plan to. You just can’t put it down. The secondary characters, including Charlie the dog, add depth to the story along with humor & wit. Another great story to the Hunter series that can be read as a stand alone.
Logan is married with his work. He is been forced to take a leave for two months and he is in Encantment Bay trying to relax and enjoy the summer. But out of nowhere Audrey show up and remember him about a pact they made more than twelve years ago, they will marry if they are still single by thirty. She is running away from Bryson, an abusive ex-boyfriend and when Logan finds out she won’t hesitate to offer her to fake their engagement and also to help her as a lawyer.
