Her beginning may be our end . . .

Adopted by the policeman who rescued her, Luce Boudreau follows him onto the force, determined to prove herself in the eyes of those who are still suspicious. However, there’s more of a battle ahead than … there’s more of a battle ahead than Luce could possibly imagine. The thing I like best about Hailey’s books is the fact that As soon as I finish one of her books, I’m looking for the next one in the series. Bayou Born plops you into the middle of the heroines life, but doesn’t skimp on details and insight to keep you involved and interested. Bravo…another great book.
Not what I expected, but enjoyed to story.
lots of distracting spell check/auditory errors but otherwise good, well built premise, nicely shaped characters, and well paced, difficult to put down, I generally like her work
enjoyed
Unusual premise and interesting plot. Could not see where it was going and it surprised me. There were some unexpected twists in the story which I liked. I would very much like to read a sequel. In fact I can’t wait for the rest of the series.
Loved it!
I really enjoyed it
Horrible. I don’t think there are swamps in canton Ms. Ughhhh
This is an interesting first book in a series, with a cliffhanger ending. I do not think of it as a finished book, however, as there are just too many loose ends. So perhaps think of it as Part I of a continuing series. The writing doesn’t flow as well as it could, and the characters need more fleshing out. Having said that, the main character does grab my interest, and I finished reading the book hoping to learn more about her. There are a few unexpected twists and turns, but ultimately not enough resolution by the end of the book. One can hope that the next in this series would answer some of the open questions.
Dragged on and on. Became obvious that the story would not be over at the end of this book. I lost intetest
I was raised in bayou country. This book could have happened in my back yard. I really enjoyed it and recommend it highly
I am about to finish this book. Really enjoyed strong female character who was not ditsy or helpless. Did not see the twist coming.
This is an interesting supernatural suspense book.
I liked the early beginning but didn’t like it after realizing it was a supernatural. Felt I had wasted my time.
Great read, very original with excellent characterization. Looking forward to the next in the series!
