Wow, hard to put down, I was drawn into this family and their stories. A bit disappointed that in the first book…the secret wasn’t that big a deal for the foreshadowing leading up to it.
Bride in Trouble
So well done. This was a sweet, sexy, thoughtful read.
I liked Rafe. He was so thoughtful in putting Phoebe’s needs above his own. He showed her he truly loved her even if she wasn’t quite aware of how much.
I liked Phoebe. Her accident could have played out as dreadful and dramatic, but it was acknowledged as a thing in life that happens, and we should move forward the best we can. I like that she didn’t hide from what happened, even if she wanted to do so.
This was a true romance with each of them proving their love. I have to give Phoebe credit, that even when the truth came out, she handled it like a champ. And, Rafe was right there to support her.
Another engaging tale that leaves you with a smile on your face.
Bride by Mistake
Loved this book. I have to say that I liked all of the characters except Jack and Fliss’ mother. It is not often that all of the characters are likeable AND nice.
The way the characters of Dominic and Fliss were written was done so well. We got to watch Dominic maintain his basic foundations and beliefs, but blossom into something spectacular. All with the assistance of Fliss.
Fliss started out hurt, embarrassed, and in pain, uncertain about her future, but was able to put that aside to bring the “real” Dominic out of his shell. In the process, Fliss was able to find what she really desired in life.
A romantic, sexy, sweet, loving story that provides you with an HEA, and leaves you with a smile on your face.
Bride in Secret
After reading the beginning of this book, I KNEW the direction it was taking. Boy, was I ever WRONG!
I was on the edge of my seat. I didn’t want to put the book down because the surprises were still coming.
Roberta and Angus were so compatible that you couldn’t help but cheer them on. They were friends with this incredible chemistry not envisioning the obstacles they would have to overcome.
A quick read that takes you through a range of emotions and ultimately leads you to Angus and Roberta’s HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of these books.
Great collection of books in one neat little package!
BRIDE IN TROUBLE
Bride in Trouble is the first book in the Bay of Islands Brides series, and in usual flare for this author, it’s a great start to the series. Phoebe awakes in the hospital to find that she has been hit by a car and can’t recall the past 8 years of her life, including being engaged to a hunk of a firefighter, Rafe, and is to be married in a little over a week. I really love the way this author dives into difficult subjects, and writes a very emotional and steamy story around someone having amnesia and how it’s dealt with. I had a difficult time with how quickly Phoebe slid back into her relationship with Rafe, especially not really knowing anything about him. The big secret wasn’t what I thought it was going to be, so that was a bit of a surprise, but in the end, Serenity takes this well written story and ends on a very uplifting and romantic note. The story dragged on in parts, but overall another great book by an amazing author. So many different characters to look forward to hearing their stories, can’t wait to see what’s next!

BRIDE BY MISTAKE
I absolutely adore the way this author writes. I’m fortunate enough to be on her ARC list of readers, so when I was sent Bride by Mistake, I couldn’t wait to dig right in.
Dominic is a widower with a seven year old daughter (Emily) who is the local Deacon, he also works as a counselor at the local high school and is amazing at what he does with guiding teenagers who have no family support, as well as helping parishioners and the town locals with things they might need. Fliss Rivers grew up in Northland New Zealand, she’s a Hollywood actress who has come home to get away from the scandal of an ex boyfriend releasing provocative photos of her to advance his own career and pocketbook. She and Roberta were best friends growing up, so she’s returned to Northland to spend some time with her friend and away from the scandal and get some peace and quiet to decide what to do. Little does she know, Dominic still lives in Northland with his daughter, and even though he would never betray the love he had for his late wife, and Fliss is in no way looking for love, they come together and enjoy each other’s company. This author always deals with some pretty tough subject matters, and this one was really no different. You have a Deacon of the church, does a tremendous amount of community work in his small town, and is a single father to his daughter. It was interesting how she touched on this man of God finding love in the most unsuspecting place, a Hollywood actress trying to get away from the press and the scandal in Hollywood, something someone in Dominic’s shoes absolute does not want to get involved in. I loved the chemistry between these two, hot, steamy, endearing, touching, and definitely some heartfelt and heavy conversations between the two, but it all worked into this great story. Loved Dominic’s family, of course the setting of New Zealand is incredible, and the end was perfect.
You always know you’re going to get a well written, page turner of a story when reading a Serenity Woods book. This was definitely worth the read, and I can’t wait to read the next installment in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
BRIDE IN SECRET
Wow, what a beginning with this book! Absolutely nothing I expected, but heart wrenching, scary, anxiety building, and sadness all are definitely at the top of the list. There’s one thing you know when you read a Serenity Woods book, it’s gonna keep you on your toes, hot in your seat and tissues in your hand, your emotions are usually all over the place, and this book was definitely not an exception to that rule!
Angus and Roberta go to Vegas with her family and friends for Dominic and Fliss’s wedding and celebration. After a night of one heck of a party, Angus and Roberta wake in the same bed, and some big surprises to go with it. I’m not going to get into the events that happen, but they are life changing. When everyone gets back to New Zealand, it’s a time of reflection and healing, including Angus who has fallen in love with Roberta, but has a huge secret that he can’t tell anyone, especially her. I figured out part of it about mid way through the story, but in true Serenity Woods fashion, she throws a wrench in there that you don’t see coming. I loved this book, Angus and Roberta are a great couple with a lot of chemistry and passion between them. My heart broke for Libby, loved the girls night slumber party, and even though this story had some pretty intense scenes in it, I laughed my way through a lot of pages. Great addition to the series.

Delightful Northland Romances
The first three books of Serenity’s new series have been put in a boxset, an ideal way to have a binge read on a cold winter’s day or a holiday read in the sun but please note that these books have explicit sex and language.
Bride in Trouble – He has ten days to make her fall in love with him again. Fabulous story – Find out what happens when you open your eyes to discover you’re in a hospital bed and have lost the last eight years of your life, oh and are getting married to a stranger in ten days time!
Bride by Mistake – A Delightful Romance. Felicity (Fliss) Rivers returns to her Northland roots when her Hollywood life implodes, staying with Roberta, an old school friend and hiding out from the paparazzi with her and her family. Fliss finds Roberta’s older brother Dominic, non-judgmental and easy to talk to and it doesn’t hurt, that he is also hot. Both characters were immensely likeable and I cared about them and what they were going through.
Bride in Secret – Interesting storyline. Vegas wedding, tragedy and secrets! There is a lot going on right from the very beginning. Roberta is the third (but not the last) of the Goldsmith siblings to find her HEA. A recommended read.
I received a complimentary copy of these books from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
