I really enjoyed reading Bay Breeze. This quickly became one of my favorite books. I love the entire cast of characters and the fact that the Sand Pit employees are a family. These characters are personable and individual. I really enjoyed Mila Unplugged. She grows a lot as she sees how her brand took over her life. This is a sweet, clean, humorous, intelligent story you should not miss.
This is the first book in this series and it was interesting for several reasons. I enjoyed learning about Mila’s social influencer job and how she tried to sell her brand. It was interesting to see how it took over her life and not in a good way. She seemed to lose herself. I also enjoyed how she changed when she was no longer plugged in to technology and checking to see how many likes, comments, and followers she had.
The part I liked the best was the deranged bride entering the bar, Sand Pit in Sandy Shores, Florida. It was like destiny stepped in when Mila and Jagger met. I liked their friendship that developed though neither one was sure what was going to happen next. My favorite line was “I chose you the minute I met you.”
I am really enjoying this series as I have now read the first two books. The characters are wonderful and so full of life. I want to see Jagger do his tricks with the bottles behind the bar. It sounds interesting! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Bay Breeze is a fantastic start to the Summer Nights series. I feel in love with Mila and Jagger from the very begining. Jagger is more then just what he seems. I love how he just took Mila in and helped her out when she needed it the most. He will just make you swoon with the way he is. Your heart goes out to Mila from the start. I love the changes in Mila when she hits Sandy Shores. She will have you giggling a little here and there and have you saying oh poor Jagger, not again. I love the fast friendships she forms with the gang of the Sand Pit. I can’t wait for more Summer Nights to come.
Summer Nights Series:
Bay Breeze #1 – I absolutely love this book! The storylines are interesting but the characters steal the show. Mila and Jagger are the perfect couple; it’s been a long time since I’ve read such interesting, fun loving characters as these two in this genre. The support characters are great, too, although Mom takes the cake – love her attitude! I love the fact that Mila recognized her faults and was able to improve her life instead of being the usual sniveling, stupid character so common nowadays.
All the characters came with intelligence, except one – there had to be a doodoohead in the bunch. This is a great exercise book with all the out loud laughs, belly laughs and just plain laughs; plenty of humor even in the bad spots. This is probably my favorite of all of Sandra’s books, but I keep a lookout for my next favorite from her. I contacted the author to review her books. 5*
Tequila Sunrise #2 – This story picks up a couple weeks after Bay ends. It is Darcy’s turn at romance. While there’s the gang from Bay, I couldn’t get into Darcy’s story, even though she is truly a sweet person. Where Bay was a fun story, this one was a little dark.
Good storylines and wonderful characters but this story didn’t work for me and I was bored in many places. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*
