Bastian Johnston had alpha running through his veins; he was after all the son of the Wounded Souls’ sergeant at arms.Only Bastian didn’t want the cut; he wanted the green beret and dagger patch. So, he followed his best friend and made his dream a reality, he became a soldier and second in charge of the coveted TEAM FIVE commando unit.Life should be great, right? Wrong. His old man’s legend also … legend also followed him on every deployment, building Bastian’s resentment for the man he admired more than anyone.
His only escape was the illegal boxing matches and a curvy blonde bombshell who had completely friend-zoned him.
Wren Hickey was his best friend. She knew him, understood him and she drove him insane with lust every time she was close. It didn’t matter what Wren did; he found everything about her sexy and confusing. He knew she had the same feelings for him so, why wouldn’t she give him a chance?
When the reason came out, Bastian had a choice to make … forget the hurt and finally make Wren his forever, or move on, and look for another reason to make his heart beat.
There was really only one choice for Bastian … but was it Wren’s too?

Bastian Johnston has been in love with his best friend Wren Hickey since they were still in school, but he has always been in the friend zone with Wren. Wren doesn’t believe Bastian is attracted to her and that he sees her only as a friend and after years of being just friends is surprised to find out that Bastian sees her more then friends. The only problem is that someone has been intent to keep them apart, can they overcome the act of betrayal or will they only ever be friends?
There is a bunch more to this story but the gist is a friends to lover story. I loved Wren and Bastian, Bastian is so in his head and has bided his time with Wren and Wren has some questions that need answering. I was a bit surprised on how the betrayal and aftermath unfolded but overall really good story.
What a great addition to this ongoing series, we loved the story from beginning to end. I am really loving this second generation series with the children from the Wounded Souls Series, and we can clearly see that the children turned men that these men chose to take the same path as their fathers took, and they are all so much like their fathers that it’s so uncanny.
One thing we love about these characters of this series is that it is so easy to fall in love with them all, and we have to say that Wren turned out to be the perfect mate for Bastien in every way. We loved the friendship turned lover story as it was heartfelt and had tons of chemistry, humor, and we loved seeing how the love that they secretly had for one another blossom after the so many years together yet apart.
One thing we are loving about this to is that we get to revisit with all the members of the wounded souls as well as the flock. We love how the flock goes about inducting the women that their boys have chosen into their flock as they are still funny as hell.
This was a touching story all around for us, and we have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed it and shed more than a few tears, and not all of them happy ones.
An absolutely amazing friends to lovers romance. Sebastian and Wren are perfectly matched, their chemistry is undeniable, their banter is cute, and their friendship is beautiful. Their journey was a bit rocky but their destination was perfection. I loved and adored everything about this story.
These boys are keeping me on my toes! Oh who am I kidding? These aren’t boys, they are men through and through and giving their dads a run for their money!
Bastian is every inch the alpha his dad is and he fell just as hard for his lady as Deck did, but she hasn’t caught up as quick. Bastian is ready to show his hand but will the past bring it to a dead stop before it starts?
I love this couple, I love the extended family of the Wounded Souls. This gave me so many feels. An absolutely fantastic read!
WOW! THE SONS ARE SAF! 😉
I am so in love with this series! First it was the Wounded Souls and now it’s the sons. HOLY FREAKIN MOLY! I have fallen head over heels in love with these characters. The Wounded Sons are every bit as sexy, strong, fun, and of course bad@ss alphas as their fathers and lawd do they know how to treat a lady. WOOH! Bastian and Wren are best friends which is the best way to start a relationship but both of them have been holding back from letting the other one know their feelings are so much stronger than friends. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, one, because they’re such close friends and, two, because the sexual tension is electifying. It’s so hot I thought my Nook was gonna spontaneously combust. Lol. When they find out what or whom is the reason they have not been together all these years it is so infuriating and heartbreaking. Bastian is so much like his father it’s heartwarming. It’s obvious he is madly in love with Wren. At times I cried happy tears and at times it got so intense I thought my heart was gonna beat right out of my chest. When it gets to a certain part in the story I was terrified. Leah, that was not fair! I was bawling! Then at times I was so excited for Bastian and Wren, their love is so strong I could almost feel it coming off the pages. Just like in His Sweetness with his mother and father. When we get to three generations It was so overwhelmingly heartwarming I cried again. (Imagine that!) Lmao! Yea Leah’s book are an emotional rollercoaster ride and I LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT! I really love how each book lets us get caught up with all the characters. Gabe and Devon getting married, Shiloh and Zander’s additions. Little Jewel sounds like she’s the spitting image of a young Shiloh which I absolutely love. Shiloh was such a sassy little spitfire I laugh my @** off. Then there’s little Zeke who sounds freakin adorable. I just thought of Darf looking down on them and knowing he’d be so proud of the woman she’s become. It made me cry AGAIN! Lmao! When Darth died I tore me up. And the flock haven’t changed a bit. They’re such a hoot. Every time the guys get shipped out it’s nerve racking. Now about Jason’s son Justin. What the hell’s going on there! How could Jason’s son be so evil? Knowing Jason and Kelsey it’s hard to imagine him being that way. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES TO EVERYONE!
From the Wounded Souls to the Wounded Sons I have been utterly captivated by these characters. Bastian is a chip off the old block as they say and his heart, soul and pride are so like Decker. Bastian and Wren took us on a journey of lies, misunderstandings and letting your pride get in the way of your heart. Their story was impassioned, heartfelt and sizzling with passion. This second book in the Wounded Sons series at times had my heart in my throat and had me holding my breath unsure of the outcome. Another enchanting story by this author that will leave you breathless.
Bastian is the second title in the Wounded Sons series, and follows the lives of the sons of the members of the Wounded Souls MC. I thoroughly enjoyed the first generation of this series, and was eager to dive into Bastian’s story.
Bastian is quite similar to his father in the fact that he is loyal, protective and passionate when it comes to his career in the military, his family and friend. Although an alpha like Deck he’s not quite as over the top.
Wren is a strong heroine with insecurities that are quite relatable.
This pair were childhood friends who hid the true depth of their feelings from each other due to misconceptions, manipulations, misunderstandings and lies.
I loved that the characters from the first series feature heavily within the story line of this title.
If you enjoy a fast paced MC romance full of twists and turns, with a military, alpha hero Bastian and the Wounded Sons may just be the series for you.
Bastian is the second book in The Wounded Sons Series by Leah Sharelle. It’s the first book I’ve read by Leah and can’t wait to read more from this author as I found this book so good a captivating emotional true love where family is everything. Bastian and Wren’s book is not to be missed.

Bastian is the second book in the wounded son’s series by Leah Sharelle. However, this is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading.
This is a story of friendship between two people who should have been together ten years ago. Each fell for the other but lies and minipulations unbeknownst to them got in the way.
Bastian is all Alpha male much like his father the SAA of the Wounded Souls MC. These men love with such intensity you will swoon. Wren and Bastian are such an endearing couple. Wren is the calm in Bastians storm, the peace that keeps him grounded.
I really loved this story. Looking forward to reading the rest of this series.
Despite the fact I’m pretty sure I could read everything Wounded Sons/Wounded Souls for the rest of my life and be happy I’m still always a bit surprised by how blown away I am with every new release. The first generation of this MC family captured my heart, but this second generation is making that love run so much deeper. Bastian’s story really drove that home for me.
So much like his father while also being his own man, I was head over heels for Bastien almost instantly. He was every bit the Alpha male bad@#$ biker and commando while being a great big softy when it came to Wren. I think the love and devotion he has for her rivals that of his father’s when it come to his mother. Bastian was utterly devoted to Wren in the most beautiful of ways and that really shined from the pages of their story.
The only person that sees a problem with being in Deck’s shadow is Bastian, but he is living in his constant shadow. In the army, the club and the ring he feels he just doesn’t measure up. Wren has been by his side through it all as his best friend even though they both want more. One little untruth has her friend zoning him. Will love truly overcome all? Will Bastian finally step out of his father’s shadow and become his own man? This will be my go to read for rereads!! I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!
This is the 2nd novel in this new generation series and what a fantastic addition Bastian and Wren’s story is. These two are best friends but have always secretly wanted more. This is a beautifully written story which had me totally hooked and intrigued throughout. I cannot wait to read more in this addictive series and highly recommend for all MC lovers.
I wish I could give this book a million stars. Bastian has been in love with Wren since the first moment he saw her, but then something changed now they are just friends. Bastian’s life is between two lives the Wounded Souls MC but his heart is in the military and following his father’s footsteps. Unfortunately his father’s legacy weighs on him, so to balance it out he finds his balance in illegal boxing. When he comes home on leave he is determined to tell Wren his true feelings and to get out of the friend zone but when his bombshell drops one on him, can they come back from this? OH wow I loved this story so much and how Wren felt about herself and her insecurities. Bastian has his own issues with the weight of living up to his father as well as the way he feels about Wren. Great characters that I fell in love with in previous books. I am so glad that Leah Sharelle continued these stories with the kids stories. I highly recommend the Wounded Souls MC series as well as the Wounded Sons series.
Bastion is the second book in the wounded son’s series by Leah Sharelle.
This story is one of a life long friendship between two people who should have been together ten years ago. However due to manipulation and lies they never got to go beyond that friendship . Until now.
Lies are soon exposed and the truth brings Bastion and Wren together where they should have been all along. Leah Sharelle loves to keep her reader’s on the edge of their seats and she certainly gave this poor reader some serious heart palpitations and a few curse words were spoken into the universe. If you have read Leah’s books you will know what I’m talking about .
Bastion is a Chip off the old block , his father being the SAA of the Wounded Souls MC and just like his dad Bastion loves intensely with a fierce Passion and protectiveness that Wren finds one of his most endearing qualities . I love how strong the relationship is between Wren and Bastion she brought peace to Bastion which he needed. And as much as he loves and admires his father Deck , he was lost in his dad’s Shadow while trying to make his way in his world as a commando just like his dad once did . But Wren helps calm Bastions storm and that peace is what brings him to realise he is proud of the person he is and even more proud to be the son of a man who means more to him then he ever thought possible.
Gabriel, book one, introduced readers to the Wounded Sons and now it’s Bastian’s turn; we get to know more about why he is such a growly, gruff guy..or is he really?
Wren has been infatuated with Bastian since she met him in high school, likewise he is with her too. They are still the best of friends a decade later until things change.
Bastian wasn’t a character we knew that much about prior to this series, of course he was a young toddler for most of the other series. He truly is Deck’s son, the growly bear, but also in his alpha protectiveness too. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Bastian better, he’s the type of character who you’ll never know fully… I’m sure he will surprise us with things further down the track.
Wren is a really easy character to like and is now determined, strong and cheeky; yet she once was shy and introverted. This demonstrates how much of a positive influence Bastian has had on her. Together they fit like salt and caramel.
I particularly liked the descriptions of both the characters and the scenes. I really want to visit Apollo Beach, now. This story doesn’t go into too much detail about deployments like the first book, which is a great change in pace. It includes current world events that are equally as devastating but also described extremely well.
Be prepared for a couple of shocks that makes for interesting, as well as, exciting reading. The emotional balance in this story is excellent and you find yourself chuckling at the good humour then either being outraged by the deceit or anxious about the future. Nothing is overdone though and questions are answered in timely order.
This fast paced story for me only had one problem- it’s finished!
I am really keen to know all of these Wounded Sons as well as what’s in store for the Wounded Souls and The Flock. Bring on book three.

Another Wounded Soul from the next generation finally falls! This storyline involves Bastian and his best friend Wren. When they met as teenagers in school and Bastian was her savior, they both harbor feelings for each other but misunderstandings have caused them not to act on them. Years later, things finally come to a head and a piece of that misunderstanding is revealed and it sparks the unraveling of their friendship to move into more. I loved how this couple realized that there were feelings there and finally acted on the chemistry, and to that extent, were able to put together the pieces of misunderstandings that caused them to delay in the first place. From there, things move pretty quickly which is understandable since they were best friends for so long, and I love that they were able to confront Wren’s mother and what she had done to the couple. Can’t wait for the next book in this series and to see what happens to this couple in the background! I love Leah’s book world she’s created and can’t get enough of these characters!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Ever since the day that Sebastian Johnston came to her rescue in high school, Wren has been in love with him But because of who she is and her background Wren believes that someone like Bastian would never fall for someone like her. So she ‘friend-zoned’ him and believes that is all they will ever be, best friends
Bastian can’t understand why Wren has put him in the friend zone, and he knows that she feels something for him. Since his last return from a mission, he has decided that he wants a different life. He wants a women to come home to and children to play with, and nobody else will fill that void but Wren.
Both of these characters had issues. Insecurities and stumbling blocks come in their way, but with Deck and Charlotte as his parents, what better example can you have to make this relationship work
I can’t get enough of this series. I love that we get to see previous characters. Also the fact that you have no clue what to expect from the story. Every story that I read I think that couple is my favourite, I just can’t decide. Wren and Bastian just had me hooked from the start to the end, totally invested in the story! I can’t wait for the next one
I had my reservations when I started this book. Bastian is afterall Deck’s (His Sweetness) son and has some big shoes to fill.
I was not disappointed. The author has a very talented way of making each character as individual as possible so even though he is Deck’s son you quickly realise he is his own man.
Bastian and Wren are best friends but they both secretly want more.
During the story you discover that due to misconceptions, miscommunications and missed opportunities have kept them apart.
1 thing I love about Leah’s writing style is she does not write unnecessary drama so once Bastian and Wren start to move forward in their relationship their past isn’t constantly thrown in each other faces.
Bastian is a enigma, he is a big bad alpha commando with a heart of gold, he knows what he wants and he decides to go after it with everything he has and what he wants he gets.
Wren is the typical girl next door or so she thinks.
I fell in love with Wren’s strong character.
I cannot wait for the next installment of the Wounded Sons.
Well done Leah on yet another fantastic read
There is no worse feeling than finding the love of your life and somehow finding yourself being Friend-zoned. Sadly this is exactly what happened between Bastian “Bast” and Wren, affectionately known as Bombshell, and Bast is at his wits end.
Having met way back in High School, Wren and Bast they have been besties for almost a decade, both secretly longing for more. When Bast comes home from his latest mission, he’s determined to convince Wren they belong together as more than just friends. Being the son of Deck and Charlotte and growing up in the Wounded Sin’s clubhouse, Bast has grown up knowing he wants a soul deep love like his parents and the other Wounded Soldiers have all experienced and he wants it with Wren. He has known she’s the one for years. But can he convince Wren? Especially when pasts lies and deceits come to light?
Another awesome Wounded Son storyline. It is very well written and the events kept me glued to the pages. Kudos to Ms Sharelle for giving us an excellent read and I am looking forward to the next story in this exciting series. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.
I adore Bastian and Wren! They were absolutely perfect together, and had a connection that was smoking hot, even when they were denying that connection! Their story is just as engrossing as the 1st Generation, and I love it just as much!
Wren grew up with Bastian, and they’ve been best friends for as long as they can remember. And Wren has had feelings for Bastian for just as long. But something is keeping her from admitting those feelings, from giving in and taking a chance. She knows what she wants, but also thinks its an impossible pipe dream.
Bastian has loved Wren forever. He knows he wants her. Knows that at some point she had feelings for him to. But for some reason, she started acting differently, and put him firmly in the friend zone. Bastian, however, is determined to make her his, and is ready to take a chance to give them both the forever they deserve.
This book was full of twists and turns, and surprises I never saw coming! I know each time I pick up a book by this author, I’m going to get a book that will keep me on my toes and deliver a story that is guaranteed to set my Kindle on fire. Bastian and Wren’s story delivered that and so much more! This book is one that will definitely be a hit with anyone that loves the Wounded Souls MC stories!
