A robbery on the rails. A gang in hiding. Can this psychic sleuth blow the whistle on a dangerous crew?
Mitzy Moon struggles to put snooping on the back burner and help launch the Duncan Restorative Justice Foundation. But her good-girl routine leaves the station after a deputy crashes the Grand Opening with a search warrant. And she’s full-steam ahead on the case when she discovers her father’s … father’s railroad is the target for a heist.
Never one to play it safe, Mitzy blatantly ignores the warnings of her entitled feline and risks everything. She even cons her interfering Ghost-ma into helping her with an alarming undercover plan. And now she promises just a few more shifts at the seedy roadhouse and she’ll have the crooks stopped in their tracks.
Can Mitzy pull off the double cross of a lifetime, or will more than her investigation be derailed?

Mitzy really is living her best life, she really does see her life as one ever growing set of scenes and film shots but never in her imagination does she see her acting career take off in quite the way it does!
Mitzy really has grown as a person and a character, it is hard to believe we are on book 6 now! Each book has expanded on all the characters and the town of Pin Cherry Harbour a little more each time. I like that the “paranormal” aspect of this series is kept to a minimum, granted we have Ghost-Ma, who is larger than life (sorry afterlife) and knows the boundaries but cares not a jot! (please please find a way to get the woman a hanky! Who new the afterlife would be so emotional!) and Mitzy’s psychic powers, but they are kept to a minimum within the story-line and the mystery is solved with just as much good old fashioned sleuthing as it is using the aforementioned psychic powers.
Mitzy’s family grows with each entry into this series, I love that despite her inheritance she would just as rather wear a snarky T-shirt as designer gear, her feet are very much on the ground.
Despite her outward snark and confidence, there is a vulnerability about Mitzy, her self doubt makes her more “real” and likeable. I love that despite her early run in’s with men in the series, where one night stands were not unknown to her, with Eric there is genuine emotions which scare her into wanitng to take things slow (not to mention the secrets she has to keep from him)
There are so many reasons I recommend this book Mitzy is like no other character, Ghost-Ma… Well we all should have out own Ghost-Ma. she is like a fairy godmother just with a ton more sass and love
But really the reason I recommend this book (and this series) is because Trixie Silvertale can write a story!! (She could write on loo paper and I would read it!!!)
From the first sentence when Mitzy tells us about her father’s endeavours to the last I did not want to put the book down, I resented “real life” for knocking! how dare my family require feeding, could they not see Mitzy was in trouble in almost Canada (again)
I highly recommend you start this series at book 1, I have reread the series in full again recently and I dare anyone to tell me this is not one of the best series in its genre right now!! This would make such a fabulous TV series!!!!
I love this series but I think this is my favorite book out of them all. Mitzy and the gang are back for more fun and laughs in almost Canada…and , of course, for a little bit of trouble. Mitzy seems to be growing up but not too quickly. And, the handsome sheriff, Erick, finally kisses her but only to prevent him from being seen by the local bar owner. What will this mean for their relationship? If you like fun cozy mysteries, read this book but only after reading the books preceding it in this series. It can be read as a stand alone but don’t cheat yourself out of the enjoyment of seeing the main character’s growth.
I wholeheartedly recommend this series to young and old alike! Trixie’s writing is superb and you eagerly read each page a little faster because you just have to see what happens next and how our love able heroine gets out of the messes she gets herself into!! Thank heavens Pye can come and save the day!
This series just gets better and better and this time something Mitzy has fantasized about since arriving in Pin Cherry Harbor may finally come true!
If you haven’t read any of this series yet I urge you to start at the beginning so you don’t miss any of the fun and excitement that you may not get by just reading this book first. These books are stand alone but things that are mentioned in them leads back to previous books so why not start at the beginning to see how it all began!
Well done Trixie! I salute you and your legion of fans also salute you on such a wonderful series! I am already looking forward to the next book to see what our favorite heroine gets into this time!
Overall rating: 5
Yes, Eric and Mitzi have got my attention! Love these highly entertaining mysteries with quirky Mitzi! I smile and laugh through this whole book! And I still want my own Pyewacket! Another successful addition to this series! Love the way the supporting characters watch over Mitzi! Definitely need more on her Dad’s new foundation! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!! Am so very grateful to get the opportunity to read these books. I totally love the way they are written, love the great character interactions, love the crazy twists and turns of the plots. Soooo can’t wait for the next one in the series. Be prepared when you started to read any of these book in this series. Definitely NOT a book you’ll want to put down once started.
Mitzy gets into even more danger than usual when she goes undercover! I love that her and her father are getting close and she realizes he does love her. Mitzy is growing up! She finally realizes how much She loves Pye! This book has it all action, adventure, mystery, romance and is fast paced! I couldn’t put this book down it was so good! There were a lot of special moments in this book that made Mitzy finally feel like she was loved and needed by the town! I highly recommend this book and this series! I look forward to reading the next book!
This is another great book by Trixie Silvertale. I love all of the characters and the storyline. I can’t wait for the next book.
On the night that Jacob’s foundation finally has its inaugural launch, there’s a warrant being issued to search a line of boxcars and the depot. Boxcars owned by Jacob’s railway. And Deputy Paulson is at the bottom of it. Mitzy isn’t about to let that go without her own investigation. Especially since Amaryllis – Jacob’s main squeeze – has asked for her help.
This has GOT to be the BEST Mitzy Moon yet! Silvertale’s characters have become family, and every adventure just makes me want to move to Pin Cherry Harbor more. Bars & Boxcars keeps the action popping as Mitzy goes undercover – against Ghost-ma’s advice – to ferret out the bad guys. There’s plenty of nail-biting action, a couple of really too close calls; but in the end Mitzy and Sheriff Too-Hot-to-Handle save the day!
Took me just a few hours to race through this one, and it left me with that familiar “oh no, now what?” when it was done. But I know Book Seven is in the works, and based on events in Book Six, it is going to be a doozie! Don’t miss out!
[Many thanks to the author for the opportunity to read an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review, the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.]
The action never stops in this book! Mitzy jumps in head first to the latest mystery and it may be the last jump she ever makes. Not to mention that things might or might not be heating up with Sheriff Hot Pants! If you love a character with sarcastic wit, a running dialogue in her head and great interactions with others then you need to be reading or listening to this series! I will say that I have enjoyed the narrator of the audiobooks as she really brings the unique characters even more fully to life! I can’t wait for the next book to be available for me to listen to as well! Whether reading or listening, this is one book that you will giggle-snort your way through!
This review is for the audio book.
I am so glad I discovered this series because I am loving it. I might have joined the series on book five but it is easy to follow along and the author does a good job introducing you the many and varied characters. I love Ghost Ma, the author has to much fun with this character and you can’t help but laugh at her interfering antics. But she is just one of the many great characters found in this book. The main character is stubborn, resilient and feisty but not afraid to accept help when she needs it, just the way a main character should be. The love life is cute and despite all the problems you kind of hope it works out for them because you know there is never going to be a dull moment, I mean who else is going to put up with hair brained ideas that involve punching you boyfriend in the face? All that was fun but it was the mystery that I really liked. It had a number of twists
and I loved Mitzy going under cover at the bar. I can’t wait for the next book and adventure.
When Mitzy walks in on her sort of boy friend cuddling another woman, she heard to the nearest bar to drain her sorrows. While there she over hears a conversation which leads her to going under cover behind the bar. A group of robbers target a railroad cars stealing high end items, three times before moving on. After they hit her father’s business Mitzy puts on a short skirt and A southern accent to find the men responsible. At the same time a young boy goes missing with his father and Mitzy is asked to help find him. Can she find the boy, stop the thieves and pull a pint? Or is she putting her life in danger?
I liked the narrator. She does some really good voices and I loved the southern accent she gave Mitzy.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review
When Mitzy Moon hears overhears a couple of men talking about how easy it was robbing the train, she knows she needs to act fast. She’s already been told that the professional group only hits one area three times before they move on and they’ve just struck for the first time. But this time it’s personal, you see, Mitzy’s father owns the trains.
When she and Ghostma come up with a plan, they don’t tell anyone, especially Sheriff Erick. Not after she caught him hugging a brunette in his office. Finding out that Ghostma has a drawer of wigs (seriously this woman had EVERYTHING in that closet), they decide that Mitzy will go undercover as “daisy” a waitress at the local dive bar and report what she hears. While working her first shift, everything was going great. Well, they guys she’d overheard hadn’t shown up yet, but someone else has… Sheriff Erick walked through the front door and her cover didn’t fool him for a minute. When she sucker punches him, he takes her outside and escorts her to his car. His squad car, where he demands to know what’s going on. When she fills him in, he hires her as a CI, cementing her as a felon by coming back the next night and arresting her for hitting him.
But that’s not the only case she’s working. It turns out that the brunette Erick was hugging was a former soldier from his unit. She and her husband have fallen on a rough patch and her husband has kidnapped their son and she thinks he’s hiding out at his family’s fishing shack somewhere around Pin Cherry Harbor. She’s asked Mitzy for her help fining them.
Mitzy has to be careful though. The crew working the boxcar robberies are professionals and they don’t leave witnesses or snoops behind.
I think this was my favorite so far, there was so much more tension in this one. Mitzy’s getting used to her powers, things are progressing between her and Erick. I love how the relationship between Mitzy and her father is progressing as well. What a wonderful book
**I read this book using my Kindle Unlimited subscription
When a train robbery occurs at Jacob Moon’s railroad that is part of a series of robberies nationwide, things aren’t looking good for Jacob’s new business, the Duncan Restorative Justice Foundation. So, Mitzy goes undercover to help her dad and to help catch the robbers.
I have really enjoyed this series and this book is a prime example of why. The book’s well-written with wonderful characters and I love how much Mitzy has blossomed and is willing to help others however she can and is now so accepting of her gifts. I was hooked from beginning to end and am looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
Mitzy is trying to figure out who is robbing the train on her dad’s railroad. This book is full of adventure and intrigue! I love the fact that Mitzy and Erick are growing closer. Pyewacket should be an honorary deputy I think, just for the way he always helps out. Highly recommend this series!
Mitzy’s adventures keep thrilling and amusing me! She is one smart girl with very astounding abilities! Her connection to PyeWacket is so cool that I wish I had the same with my kitty. She gets into some serious trouble with this mystery. I have so much fun reading these books! I loved this one just as much as all the others!
Love this author and this series! <3
It just keeps getting better and better. How fun it would be to live there.
Mitzy Moon is a smart cookie with a little extra help, and a smarter Pyewacket to help her.
If you haven’t started this series yet, get started, it’s AWESOME!
Mitz did it again. She is in the right place at the right time. She hears things and then something else will catch her ear and things pop into place and we are off. I wounder if the sheriff had this much excitement in his life before she came to town? I do love her and the trouble she can get into. We can not forget Pyewacket. He makes the story so much better. I want one. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Back to Pin Cherry with Mitzy Moon. The intrigue continues in book six. Mitzy Moon is soon up to her investigative self when she goes uncover to sleuth out the villains trying to steal from her father’s company. Along the way she offers to help find a kidnapped boy and finds more then she bargained for.
All the wonderful characters are back including Ghost-ma and Erick. This series keeps getting better as it goes on. Definitely a must read.
This sixth book in the light-hearted paranormal cozy Mitzy Moon Mysteries Series by Trixie Silvertale was another entertaining and enjoyable example of Mitzy’s sometimes dangerous adventures, as well as the ongoing development of her romantic interest with Sheriff Erick. I have to be honest here and say that this book didn’t have as many funny exchanges between Mitzy and her ghostma as some of the previous ones, and I missed that aspect. But, don’t get me wrong, I completely enjoyed this little adventure and look forward to book 7 to see what mischief can be created by Mitzy, ghostma, and Pyewacket. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Hidden Gems Books.
Our 6th Mitzy Moon Mystery case and I still cannot get enough of this super kick ass heroine, her snarky ghost-ma, her beautiful and brave though canny Caracal Pyewacket, and of course the hunk of a sheriff Erick. Since coming over to Pie Cherry Harbour Mitzy just cannot keep her nose out of trouble, she is curious and is turning into a really good sleuth. She was meant to be by the side of her father Jacob, on the night of the launching of his new project The Duncan Restorative Justice Foundation, however she overheard something which hooked her right away. In this book she is finally even recruited as Erick’s personal CI which is really a first, and such a breakthrough. She risks her all in this fantastic adventure where she goes up against The Stopwatch Robbers, a gang of train robbers and a dad who had kidnapped his young son, to the devastation of his poor mother. Her ghost-ma is against her venturing out to solve the mystery as is Pyewacket but Mitzy is, if nothing else extremely headstrong. She is also growing stronger in her psychic powers which go to help her solve the cases faster. Thank goodness for her canny pet who once again saves the day. Furthermore this time round Mitzy seems to be making headway into the blossoming new romance with the dishy Erick who has been making her heart throb right from the start. I am so enjoying the light-hearted humour and the great escapades in this highly addictive series of whodunnit mysteries that I cannot wait to have the next book in my hands
