A robbery on the rails. A gang in hiding. Can this psychic sleuth blow the whistle on a dangerous crew?
Mitzy Moon struggles to put snooping on the back burner and help launch the Duncan Restorative Justice Foundation. But her good-girl routine leaves the station after a deputy crashes the Grand Opening with a search warrant. And she’s full-steam ahead on the case when she discovers her father’s … father’s railroad is the target for a heist.
Never one to play it safe, Mitzy blatantly ignores the warnings of her entitled feline and risks everything. She even cons her interfering Ghost-ma into helping her with an alarming undercover plan. And now she promises just a few more shifts at the seedy roadhouse and she’ll have the crooks stopped in their tracks.
Can Mitzy pull off the double cross of a lifetime, or will more than her investigation be derailed?

Book number six and the stories just keep getting better and better. Love this series, it has it all ghosts, magic and an enchanted cat. You will get to know Mitzy and follow her newly acquired magical skills. When she finally learns how to control them, she will be quite a formidable force of nature. Grams, is a total riot, she is feisty and has a strong personality and presence. The fact that she is a ghostly apparition cannot hold her back from interfering with the living. She is truly a fun character to read about. As long as Trixie Silvertale continues to write stories, I will continue to read them. Yes, they are that good.
This series is great, still loving every minute of it. Mitzy got herself in a jam again and I was on pins and needles, couldn’t put it down. Finally things are starting to happen in her live life, all good of course. I’m so glad that Sheriff Erick and Mitzy are having dates. Ghostma and Pyewacket are in the middle of it too, glad he’s ok. Was scared when he was choking but of course he’s one step ahead of Mitzy. Can’t wait til the next book comes out! Love this series!
Mitzy is back and her hands are full of mystery and intrigue! In Bars and Boxcars, she goes undercover to help solve a train robbery and missing child case. Mitzy is forced to grow up and use all her skills both natural and supernatural to solve the case and stay in one piece!
I unabashedly love the Mitzy Moon Mystery series. It is so gratifying to read a series where each new book is better than the last. The setting, characters (who are fascinating and evolving), and mysteries are on point.
While Bars and Boxcars could be read as a stand-alone book, it is so, so much better if you read all the books that precede it!
Trixie Silvertale does it again. this was even better than the others, you will have to read it. Yes! I love the series and you can jump in read them anywhere in the series, I recommend from the start. No matter which one you start with you will enjoy every bit of it. I just cannot put it down once I start. It is nice to leave Covid-19 behind and go into this wonderful world Trixie Silvertale has created. I sure you will feel the same way.
After hearing about a series of train robberies and the possibility of a gang hiding out in Pin Cherry Harbor, Mitzy charges head first into an investigation. Can Mitzy help with the investigation and stay out of harms way?
This was a fun book to read. I was pulled into the story from the beginning. Mitzy is a entertaining lovable protagonist as she is full of snark and personality. The mystery has plenty of twists and turns to keep your glue to the book to solve the crime right there beside Mitzy.
I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator is fantastic at bringing the story off the printed page and into your imagination. She has a wonderful tone of voice and brings each characters personality to life.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way have I been influenced by anyone.
Bars and Boxcars is the 6th Book in the Mitzy Moon series by Trixie Silvertale.
I absolutely LOVE this series. I listened to the audio version narrated by the amazing Coleen Marlo.
This series keeps getting better and better!
I was hooked from the first chapter. Mitzy’s and Eric the sheriff’s relationship seem to be going well until she sees something unexpected. Meanwhile Mitzy’s dad is having a lot of trouble with hijackers on the trains leaving from the depot.
But wait, Mitzy goes undercover, with hilarious results! I LOVE the characters and I absolutely love the town of Pin Cherry Harbor and all of the characters, especially Mitzy’s ghostma and Piwackett!
I highly recommend this book and the entire series!
In “Bars and Boxcars” we see a different side of Mitzy. While she is still fun and interesting, you see that she is maturing and accepting the responsibilities that come with her talents and inheritance.
I continue to be fascinated by the narration talents of Coleen Marlo. I cannot imagine how she keeps all of the character’s voices straight, executing a flawless and clear recital. In this episode she adds the voice of Dixie, which is absolutely delightful! I hope we see a regular ‘southern belle’ character in the series going forward.
Once again, a true 5 star offering from both author and narrator!
I received a free copy of this audiobook and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
Bars and Boxcars is the 6th book in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries–A Paranormal Cozy Mystery by Trixie Silvertale . This series is a perfect blend of humor, suspense, and mystery, with engaging characters who are easy to love. Luckily, Coleen Marlo is once again the narrator whose vocal skill brings the characters to life. The story line is quick paced with a variety of events taking place: a missing child, a train robbery, a kidnapping, an undercover escapade, the opening of the center for ex cons ,and a character in the arms of someone new! Mitzy Moon is right in the thick of things, as usual, Ghosty-Gran puts in her two cents, and the Sheriff has a lot of explaining to do. I enjoyed seeing Mitzy ‘s relationships deepen as she settles into her new community. If you are looking for a good mystery with action, a touch of danger, and a dash of romance—the Mitzy Moon mysteries are sure to deliver your next enjoyable read! I highly recommend this audiobook.
