This book is fantastic and I love the author. So much so just bought two more of her books. There also in the same series which is The Talking Dog Detective agency. I found this book easy to read and a page turner and didn’t want to put it down.
I recommend this book highly.
I love the Talking Dog Detective Agency books. I am so excited when a new book is published, but I devour it and hate to wait for the next one! There are plenty of comments about the plot. Let me just say that there are many twists before this mystery is solved. It is another fun romp with Nala and Max!
Abby Lowenstein works hard and lives a very simple life. She is surprised when her neighbor, Barbara, says something about coming home during her lunch period to pick up a package. The problem is that Abby hadn’t ordeered anything. That is when she realized that somebody had stolen her identity and was using her credit card information for unauthorized purchases. Having gotten one of Nala’s business cards at the pet center where she adopted her cat, Bruno, Abby decided to contact Nala and Max to see if they could find out who stole her identity.
Shortly after talking with Abby, Nala gets a call from her mother, who is on a cruise. It seems that somebody made an unauthorized purchase on one of Posh Interiors’ Business Credit Cards and she wants Nala to look into it. Returning to her office, Nala runs into Harry Chafant, a costume vendor with an office in the same building. It seems that Harry got taken in by a fraudulent order that appeared to use a stolen credit card. To make matters worse, somebody has broken into Nala’s office.
Why is there a sudden surge in credit card fraud? Is it one person or more than one? Is the same person/group responsible for all of the fraud? Can Nala figure out who is causing all of the trouble?
Morgan Scott does a wonderful job of portraying reality with multiple problems piling up in a short period of time. She also does a wonderful job of juggling several events at the same time. Having Nala try to explain the situation when Max talks around other people adds great humor to the books.
This was a really good story about Comic Con and identity theft. I just love Max, the dog! I can’t wait for the next one.
A lovely and enchanting cozy mystery!
What if you rescued a dog from the shelter and found out it happens to talk? Odd as it might seem this is not a book of the paranormal genre, but it is a really cute cozy mystery about a P I named Nala with a talking dog as a partner. I don’t know if this sounds odd to you or not but the dog is as diva-like as possible and coupled with Nala’s sarcasm the banter between them makes for a fun read.
While this might sound like a whimsical cozy, it had fun, really well-developed characters. Characters with much more depth than you would expect in a cozy. It’s also a really modern cozy with your computer nerd friend and parents who take cruises as well as a mom who has a business. In the middle of a larger town for most cozy settings, a huge Comic Con is going on with all of your favorite comic superheroes attending, well at least people dressed in their costumes, and it all makes it a little crazy and fun. I liked this up-to-date city-slicker kind of cozy mystery.
M.K. Scott has plenty of series with really good reviews. This one happens to be Book 3 in a series titled “The Talking Dog Detective Agency”. While this book can easily stand alone as a good read, it looks to me like we’d better check out her other books too.
***This book was provided to me free of charge in exchange for an honest review.
Wonderful Episode of the Talking Dog Detective Agency
I love this series and this episode is the best ! I love the witty banter, the crazy situations and the realism. I can imagine all of this happening with people I know. The plot of this story is quite relevant in today’s world. I have enjoyed this series that I have kept it to read again later. I received this book for free and voluntarily chose to post my honest review.
This is 3rd in a series and just as good as the first two. It can be read as a stand alone. Premise: a part time day care teacher working towards her goal as a PI and her talking dog Max. Max only talks to one other person but is a great help in solving “real life” crimes, identity theft in this case. A great cast of characters and I especially like Max, the talking dog. I love his attitude and remarks.
