Kinsley just wanted to have some fun for a change. Then she wakes up in a stranger’s bed, with her bridesmaid dress on backward and a hazy memory of what happened at her friend’s wedding. With a quick escape, she can get back to her predictable life. But then she meets her new boss–the same guy she’d woken up next to–and seeing him with a clear head doesn’t make him any less attractive. Mixing …
Mixing business with pleasure has never been Damon’s style, and easily avoided, but the hotel he just bought comes with an unexpected perk–its manager. “Sensible” Kinsley today is as alluring as “impulsive” Kinsley was the night before, and she talks him into a deal. If she can turn around the hotel by the end of summer, he won’t tear it down to put up more profitable condominiums.
Their plan is simple…until falling for each other becomes more than they bargained for.

Kinsley and Damon’s story was awesome. I appreciate the author taking the time to develop the characters and tell their back story. These details Made is easier to cheer for this couple to heal and find the love they both desired as the worked through their angst. Great Read!
**I received a copy of Bargaining with the Boss from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**
Bargaining with the Boss is the first in a new series by Jennifer Shirk. I haven’t read her books before and although this was a sweet quick read i do wish there was more heat between the hero/heroine. However I’d give the story 3.8 stars for Kinsley trying to restore the hotel to its former grandeur.
Kinsley wants to break away from the same life she’s lead for the last few years and the fiance who dumped her. What better way to let loose at the wedding in her pink puffy bridesmaids dress and a handsome man. Plus Tequila shots and a walk of shame the next morning when she wakes up in his bed. Imagine her surprise when Damon turns out to be her new boss of the hotel that was once in her family. But there are some things her brother didn’t tell her about their dad which led to why he had to sell the hotel to Damon and his father’s companies. Yes, there’s the issue with the land being worth more than the hotel but Kinsley wants to try to restore what once was by using local businesses and with a limited budget Damon gives her all while knowing that it all may not pass by his father who just wants to sell it.
Damon has always felt guilt for his younger brother who was killed when he was in a car driven by a drunk friend but he feels as if he’ll never quite please his father enough with his business acumen. But when he meets Kinsley and the hotel that she loves so much especially after meeting some of the business owners on the island. He hears how she has plans of using their products and promoting both businesses. When he starts to fall in love his father makes him chose between buying more hotels or letting Kinsley, the staff and businesses know that the hotel will be torn down and condos built.
It’s a good story but again I wish it had a little more fire between Damon and Kinsley.
Bargaining with the Boss is a charming romantic comedy. It is the perfect book to read if you’re snuggled under a blanket on a snow day. From their first meeting, Kinsley and Damon are absolutely adorable together. I loved their interactions as their relationship progressed. There were laugh-out-loud moments and there were heartbreaking moments. Both characters came to realize that there was much more to them than they had been given credit for. The ending was perfect, and I can’t wait for the rest of the series.
I loved this book! It would make a great Hallmark movie. Jennifer Shirk is now one of my must read authors.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy. This is my honest, unbiased review.
A wonderful sweet read that will touch your heart and leave you smiling. The writing and characters are excellent with a nice easy pace to the story. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon read.
Damon has spent years trying to prove himself to his father. Buying this hotel property is his latest attempt. All he needs to do is flip this property into condos for a huge profit. Doing so would be much easier if the very tempting Kinsley wouldn’t keep trying to get him to change his mind. When they agree on a one month deal it should be easy for him to bide his time but when feelings begin to develop Damon knows he is in way over his head.
This is a book I highly recommend to everyone.
Bargaining with the Boss (Accidentally Yours) by Jennifer Shirk
This is Kinsley Roberts and Damon St. James’ story.
This is a sweet and fun romance with great chemistry between Kinsley and Damon. I fell in love with Kinsley and Damon.
The story grabbed my attention from the beginning to the end. I love how reading her stories are so much fun and are a refreshing break from everyday life. This author never disappoints and really enjoyed this read. I’m hoping Kinsley’s brother Wade gets his story.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Jennifer Shirk has a way of pulling you into a story with the first page. This book pulled me in with the first paragraph. Who doesn’t like wedding cake?
Kinsey just wants to work at her family’s hotel and heal her broken heart. Her brother sells the hotel, before she gets a chance to turn it around, to Damon, making him Kinsey’s new boss. Damon gives Kinsey until the end of the summer to turn a profit, but they both end up getting more than they bargained for.
I love all the relationships between the characters in this book. Rather it was friends, co-workers, or just people from the town, everyone cared for everyone else. They all wanted to see Kinsey succeed with the hotel.
I absolutely loved this book. I can’t wait to read more of the Accidentally Yours novels. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that Wade finds his happily ever after.
I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read by Jennifer Shirk but it won’t be the last I really enjoyed Bargaining with the Boss. I fell in love with the charming seaside town of Cape Harmony and what can I say about Damon if you like a hero who is charming and funny despite his past then this is the book for you. This author has a way with words, she made me feel like I was visiting friends and that I was part of the community of Cape Harmony, her characters have depth, the story is believable and it has the perfect mix of romance and humour. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
For Kinsley her biggest mistake could turn out to be her greatest gift. Jennifer Shirk can lift a heart and impart wisdom as easily as she can spin a good yarn. Bargaining with the Boss is romantic comedy at it’s sweetest. A naughty mistake lands responsible Kinsley in an awkward position. How can the night she can’t completely remember, keep coming back to haunt her everyday life? Damon is the man who has a far more intimate knowledge of his employee than he ever thought possible, but can hardly resist wanting more. The surprises in life are what keeps the world interesting and Ms. Shirk takes that advice to heart with a hilariously heartwarming spin on falling in love.
