A hot contemporary romance from the author of the acclaimed I-Team series… runs into Austin Taylor, her first boyfriend and her first heartbreak. She’s determined to show him she’s over him—until he steps out of a pickup truck and back into her life, looking sexy as hell in his mountain ranger uniform.
As far as Austin is concerned, Lexi can turn her snazzy little convertible around and drive back to Chicago. After all, she ripped his teenage heart to pieces and turned her back on the town he loves. But from the moment he sees her again, he can’t get her out of his mind. Even her smile messes with his head.
When an evening of conversation turns into something else, Lexi and Austin agree to be friends—with benefits. But as Lexi starts making plans to return to the big city, Austin realizes he’ll lose her a second time unless he can show her that what she’s searching for has been right here all along.

Never can have to much sex in one book. But I think this book has to must sex, I get they love each other, but put something else in the plot.
I love this author! She always delivers well drawn characters that you think you would meet if you went to the locales her stories are set in. Story is realistic without being soppy. A lovely read!
Loved it and the whole series
This series is amazing. I read the first book and I think I’m on the fourth or fifth one now. They’re all books you can’t put down.
A little too steamy. Well written and enjoyable storyline it didn’t need all the graphic sex to make it a good book. Without all the sex I would give the storyline 5 stars.
I enjoyed it greatly.
After reading this book I bought the rest of the series and loved them!
Started off on a good note but then was just predictable and boring.
I did not finish this book. I had high hopes because I love search and rescue type stories but there was a great deal more sex scenes than story.
This story didn’t resonate with me and I usually really enjoy this author. From my view, the characters were a little too perfect, not too engaging and I kept hoping for a more interesting thread. I don’t think I’ll be interested in the next installments of this series.
was a fun book to read
Good read
Very realistic, great story
Another Pamela Clare winner! She writes such strong, smart characters, that I want to be friends with all of them. Totally enjoyable!
Good series. Her I Team series is excellent and has a slightly different story line I wasn’t sure I would lik. Investigative reporters. But it is a super series. I team reminds me of early KGI or Cindy Gerad Black OPs. This firefighter series reminds me of the good Katie Ruggle Search and Rescue series .
I want to move to Scarlett Colorado. You will, too, after you read this book. You’ll also want to snatch up her other Colorado books. Quick read, but solid story told by a good writer
Good Read.
I couldn’t put this book down. Have to get the rest of the series.
Liked the book so well, I bought the entire series! All great!
The Characters, who were high school sweethearts, meet again and it is obvious that they still are attracted to each other. They don’t go through a series of ups and downs, hating and then loving each other. It is written more like real life. A book that is relatable. So glad I read it.
