Barefoot Beach by Debbie Mason is book 8 in the Harmony Harbor Series. It can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading the previous 7 books as it will give you background on the characters and the family. This book pulled me in right from the first page and kept me turning the pages until the end. I did not want to put this book down. The story is well written and the characters are fun, realistic and believable. This is a fun book. It has drama, romance, lies, a little mystery, twists and turns that will keep you entertained. This is the perfect summer/beach read. I can’t wait to see what Debbie has in store for us next.
Barefoot Beach, the 8th book in the Harmony Harbor series is another wonderful book by Author Debbie Mason! This book is full of secrets, lies, love, backstabbing, jealousy, spirits, revenge and Happily-Ever-Afters.
It tells the tale of Theia Lawson, a strong, smart, former Navy pilot, who is staying in Harmony Harbor until her plane is cleaned after a mishap…a mishap that handsome firefighter Marco DiRossi is only partially responsible for.
The characters in Barefoot Beach are many…lots of family (Gallagher and DiRossi’s), townspeople, firefighters, and extras. The setting is a small town, including Greystone Manor.
Overall, I give this a 4.5…I love Author Debbie Mason’s writing style and the humor, spirit, drama, love, overall storyline. It is a very, very eventful story, there is a lot going on between the covers…but still extremely enjoyable!!! I do recommend reading the entire series first, as the characters and the family dynamic is easier to follow if you do!
Nobody can get under my skin, quite like Debbie Mason. Her appeal is more subtle, but no less powerful. Barefoot Beach takes the long route to a heart. Theia is in need of some tough love, but what she gets is a good does of matchmaking from the town locals. Marco has a plan that could blow up in their faces or run away with their hearts. Mason turns summer lovin’ into captivating reading that tempts the body and touches the heart.
Barefoot Beach is full of love, surprises, drama & family. The characters are well written & mesh together perfectly. Small town living was well documented from the gossipy women’s club to the intrusive matchmakers. This is an entertaining clean romance that brings family love, history & drama into the forefront. It grabs your attention from the first page & keeps you involved until the end.
Marco wants to find his significant other but something holds him back. Until he meets his match. Theia is determined to stay single, until she meets Marco. The attraction between them is apparent from the beginning. With the betrayal, surprises & danger, along with all the family drama, Marco & Theia have to also overcome their past fears to find a way to trust each other & fight for their future. I loved Caine & hope his story is coming up!
Another phenomenal read from a talented author! With small-town charm, a tight-knit community, an emphasis on family, and the Gallagher family’s ephemeral matriarch and her feline familiar, Simon, it’s the perfect setup for a heartfelt storyline. Add to that drama, danger, surprises, lies and betrayal, and this book kept me glued to its pages from beginning to end.
Barefoot Beach has just the right mix to make it the perfect escape read and the book to pack on your next vacation. Full of poignant emotion, tons of heart and a strong family bond, these characters will easily find a place on your heart, so don’t miss their amazing story!

Wow – a great read! I’ve read all of the Harmony Harbor books, and loved this return to Greystone Manor. While reading the earlier books isn’t essential, it does help give background on the family and the characters. This story had lots of emotion, laughter, suspense, secrets, past hurts and fears, family relationships, and love. I loved Theia and Marco, and found the story engrossing and hard to out down. Well done, Debbie Mason. I look forward to Christmas in Harmony Harbor!
ARC received for an honest review
It was great to get back to Harmony Harbour and the Gallagher and DiRossi families.
However boooooy these families. I don’ know if I could handle them if they were mine with all the secrets and lies and the like.
I really liked Theia – I can’t remember if she was in the previous books, however she has been in Harmony Harbor previously, and we do get enough of that back group.
Enter sexy bachelor firefight Marco, and sparks fly – pretty literally. I loved the way they came together, even if they didn’t hahah.
I have had a run on darker, crime based books lately, so it was nice to get stuck into a lighter story. Not that everything about Theia and Marco’s story was all fluffy
Theia is a strong woman, however she is not afraid to show her weaknesses – even though she hates that she has weaknesses lol.
And Marco is a tough guy with a heart of gold that would do anything for his family.
Something is resolved in this story that has played out throughout the series, so if you haven’t read the previous books, you will miss some of the nuances of the character development and storylines.
Gotta give a special high five to Colleen, whom I have adored right through this series.
Barefoot Beach is a lovely comfort read, so why snuggle up under a blanket (or lay on the beach for those in the other hemisphere) and enjoy all the shenanigans of Harmony Harbor.
Loved the storyline. When love bites, you fall hard. Romance and intrigue combined for an entertaining read. I have read the whole series.
The story was good but too many characters
For those who follow me, they know how much I totally love Debbie Mason. Her books always make me feel!
Sometimes I’m happy, other times I want to yell at the characters. But in the end, she always leaves me satisfied. What more could you ask for in an author?
We are heading towards the finish of the Harmony Harbor series. Not to worry the author is good at surprising you with a fun novella story here or there for her series. Plus her new series sounds so good. I can’t wait for it.
I’ve been hoping for Marco’s story since we first met him. I wasn’t sure what kind of woman could steal his heart but I knew she’d have to be very special to do so. At first, I wasn’t sure if Theia was special enough. In the prior book, I didn’t trust her very much so I wasn’t sure. But as I read Barefoot Beach I saw just how special she was.
I will admit I totally fell in love with her. She is the sweetest woman that could be. And she’s perfect for Marco. She’s both tough and a marshmallow underneath. I think Marco needs that kind of woman. He needs one that can stand beside him holding strong when times are tough but will also treat those around her nicely.
This turned out to be a very special book. A ton happens and some of it very shocking. Even though each story in this series stands on its own with its own storyline you still had a common thread that ran through each book. Like the prior books, you find out a little more about the common thread but still don’t have the full picture. I’m sure we’ll get that with the next book. I really can’t wait.
I suggest you read this series in order. Each book will work better that way. Plus, you really get to know the main characters that are in most of the books. This is why I love series so much. Reading them is like going home.
