There’s another high school reunion taking place on the shores of Barefoot Bay and it’s bringing some timeless romance to the beach… ready to ditch the whole thing and resume his life as an adventure-seeking world traveler until he discovers a woman sobbing on his doorstep…and has an idea.
By her own admission, advertising copywriter Emma DeWitt is jaded, jilted, and jobless, but she goes over the edge when she learns that the resort villa that was supposed to be the site of her romantic honeymoon is occupied by a single man. But when the sexy silver fox whose staying in the villa surprises her with an irresistible offer to pose as his fake fiancée, Emma sees a way to have her week in paradise and begin healing her broken heart.
Mark believes every person has only one soul mate…and he’s met, married, and buried his. Emma believes that love is a marketing concept created to sell fairy tales and expensive weddings. What if they are both wrong…and completely right for each other?

I have read other books in this series, and enjoy seeing the main characters from another story in the background of this story. It is fun how they all interact and you see characters from a different perspective.
What a sweet second love story. So sappy it was a perfect read for a cold winters day!
Oh, I really enjoyed Barefoot at Sunset! I found it to be very well written with a delicious addictive storyline! I stumbled on this story in my Chirp app and it had me excited and intrigued about starting it before I even had the purchase completed! I love the fact that this author created a series using sexy older characters. After all, not everyone is still in their 20’s or 30’s and that’s all most authors seem to be writing about! This was definitely a sweet, sexy hot, very enjoyable story! Loved it!
Mark Solomon’s a sexy 48 yr old silver haired widower that’s very content with his life and his memories of his late wife Julia, his one true love. He’s spent the last 16 yrs after loosing Julia to cancer, just traveling around the globe. Mark thought he was ok with his life…until he meets Emma. Someone that’s actually making him feel again…could he actually be lucky enough to be gifted two soulmates in a lifetime?
Wow! I absolutely loved this refreshing hot story and I thought narrator B. J. Harrison and his deep sexy voice definitely brought these characters to life adding extra heat to this awesome story! I’m looking forward to the rest of the stories in author Roxanne St. Claire’s Barefoot Bay TIMELESS series! Older. Wiser. Hotter…Silver!
Well-developed characters spewing excellent dialogue. Add a tropical location and the story just flows. This book has the potential to be re-read time and again.
There were a lot of things I appreciated about this book. 1. Adults acted like adults. I mean, they were human and flawed and occasionally messed up, but they weren’t idiotically stupid. They acted their age. Bravo. 2. No awkward consent issues. It’s sad that this has to be something to be praised rather than expected, but welcome to the world we live in. 3. A certain emotional maturity that allowed characters to not only feel their emotions, but verbalize them (again, occasionally the messed up- but they were human, so that made it better). I genuinely enjoyed this book. There wasn’t really anything unpredictable or suprising about it, no part of the plot was genuinely a complete surprise. The characters could probably have stood to be fleshed out just a tad more. They weren’t quite three demensional, but were on their way there. For example- do these adults have no friends? Why is their family not calling them? The female lead was jilted at the alter lately, and yet her phone goes an entire week without one friend calling. Without her mother calling. There’s where I think the characters needed a bit more fleshing out- they didn’t really have lives outside the setting of the book, there was no outside world reaching in, like it would for real people. The male lead travels the world and also apparently has no friends he’s made during all his trips who might call or text him while he’s at his reunion?
Other than that though, I will say the characters were pretty good- you could definitely predict what they might say or do because their personalities were clear. It just seemed like they never communicated with the world outside Barefoot Beach, despite the fact that both of them were there as visitors rather than residents.
As for the romance itself? I liked it, I would’ve liked a bit more discussion between the two prior to the conclusion. There are some topics I think they would need to cover prior to deciding to have a serious relationship that they seemed to skip over/did not occur to them. But it was, otherwise, very nicely done. Every plot point made sense, there was never a moment where a character did something that was stupid/out of character, you always understood why they were doing what they were doing.
So, characters: almost great, plot: predictable but enjoyable, and ending: perfectly satisfying.
I love the Barefoot Timeless series because the characters are older and it proves that no matter your age you still deserve love, great sex, and a relationship of mutual trust and power. More than that, that getting older doesn’t mean tired and worn out, but rather more well-rounded and seasoned. A 50+ person knows what they want and has a world of experience and interest to bring to the table of any relationship.
This series is a must to read
Loved it
Great for the over 40 crowd
Pretty much love anything by this author. Never a disappointing read.
Fun read
A nice escape
Enjoyed the older charterers. Enjoyed their sex life. Was more believable than some romances.
loved it, couldn’t put it down
*sigh* Can I meet him???
The book was absolutely gorgeous but it wasn’t enough for me to purchase the rest of the series. The only thing that was missing was more heat in the bed. If there was just more heat and passion the book would have nailed a 5 star.
enjoyed characters who are a bit “seasoned” in age! nice change.
Excellent story and believable.
Great characters. Great story flow. Highly recommend.
I absolutely loved this book. I wasn’t ready for it to end!!!
