The woman’s killing me.I’m not the kind of man who would normally even consider blurring the lines between landlord and tenant or boss and employee, but Summer is a walking temptation. Neurotic and obsessive when it comes to work details, sure, but a damn cute temptation nevertheless. She’s been a good tenant and an even better worker. Plus, she doesn’t simper or throw herself at me like a lot of … or throw herself at me like a lot of women who find out my net worth. I’ve grown…fond of her, oddly enough.
But if she drags me out of bed in the middle of the night to talk about work one more time…

The man’s a saint.
Not only did Jason hire me for the greatest project I’ve ever run point on, but he also let me move into an amazing loft in his building as an extravagant job-relocation perk. Sure, he can be a grouch when I accidentally wake him up to go over the project, but he’s still a saint nevertheless.
He’s been a fantastic boss and a surprisingly protective landlord. But…when did his shoulders get so wide? And why is that growling voice of his making me all weak in the knees lately?
Also, is it still considered morning wood if it happens in the middle of the night…or something more?

This is the first book in the Hard, Fast & Forever series by Sasha Burke. Sasha is a new to me author and I have to say that I’m just in love with this little book. It was sexy as heck, sweet, fun, and the hero was my favorite kind of hero, all alpha, over the top for the woman he craves, and just so swoony.
Jason Steele is owner and CEO of Steele Developments International. He works hard and has earned himself billions but he never lets up. He doesn’t let anything distract him, except perhaps his new project manager, Summer. At the very least, he hasn’t been getting much sleep lately because Summer keeps waking him up in the middle of the night to discuss the job! He has plenty of other things he’d love to discuss with her, things he dreams about doing. She is quirky and sweet and crazy and she fills his every waking and sleeping dream with fantasies. But she’s not only his employee, but his tenant as well so that means hands off. Right?
Summer Davis’s grandfather taught her everything she knows about the world of construction. Getting this job working for Jason Steele is like a miracle. She is determined to do everything perfectly. Summer is an insomniac and thinks nothing about waking up Jason at 3 AM to discuss whatever work issue is on her mind. She also doesn’t mind seeing Jason in those sweat pants he frequently wears when she shows up at his door.
These two fight off their attraction to each other for as long as they can until they finally give in. Jason is growly and sexy and his inner thoughts were so much fun. He loved all of Summer’s crazy quirks. She’s a fantastic project manager. Can he risk losing her by giving in to his feelings? Does he really even have a choice?
This really was so much fun. Jason was so much fun. Summer is sweet and naïve but also tough and determined to do a good job. Together they were just perfect. I’m so glad I decided to give this author a try and can’t wait to continue the series with book two, which is Jason’s friend, Logan’s book!
I loved Jason and Summer story
Jason was a good and strict boss, however, he wielded results. I loved that while Summer could frustrate him, he was nice to her even if he was being gruff. I loved that he just “got her”. I especially liked after they got together how wonderful he was with her. Kind when he needed to be and the man in bed that she needed.
I adored Summer. I read some of the other reviews about her and yes she was a little weird and wired a little different. But this was WHY I liked her. I liked that she was flawed in a way that a lot of people are. I liked that she was quirky and wasn’t so self-aware.
I have read way to many books where the heroine is this sassy, feisty things that can grad a man by his man parts. This was a nice change of pace.
This book was nothing special. A pretty average girl falls for a guy romance novel. There are sexy scenes but nothing that made me blush or look at it as anything special. There were parts that I enjoyed and parts that were just boring.
I listened to the audiobook. The narration was ok. The story was ok. The book started out kind of interesting and flatlined. It wasn’t terrible, it was just blah. I don’t think the narration added anything to the story. It wasn’t monotone, it just wasn’t. At least not for me.
I would recommend you listen and judge for yourself. I have found that sometimes book 1 in a series doesn’t hit the mark, but the following book might be really good. I am willing to try book 2. This book was maybe a 2.25, 2.5 for me.
Absolutely loved this book. Jason is hot and all alpha male. Summer is sweet, naive and HILARIOUS. Secretly in love with each other but how they slowly reveal that affection is so realistic. Won’t be disappointed. Grest book
Kind of cute
I loved the uniqueness of the characters. Always willing to do the right thing.
Very original characters and humor is excellent
Very fun entertaining read , welcome story with all happy times! Refreshing to read a stress free but interesting book with lovable characters.
Short book that traps you
Noy bad. It became very romantic (and VERY steamy about half way through and had a sweet happy ending.
Jason is going crazy from Summer’s constant early morning/late night knocks on his door. He is grumpy because of it but its tough on him because of how she comes up from her apt in her night clothes not thinking anything of it. Summer is an impulsive person and used to not sleeping and doesn’t stop to think before she shows up at Jason’s door. Sparks fly between them but they both try to keep things professional. Summer has no clue that someone has started rumors about her that weren’t flattering to her until Jason mentions them. Then she starts avoiding him unless its on site and he realizes how much he liked her late night knocks on his door. Will he claim Summer for his own? Can Summer see that she can do her job and be with Jason?
This is an amazing story that will captivate from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. This is a well written and entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Simple but very good
The story is very well written, hot, and sometimes funny, especially by the first interactions between the two main characters, Summer and Jason.
I really liked the character of Summer, unable to see that she seduced everyone she met, including her new boss Jason. While he is walking half-naked, she sees only one occasion to hold meetings and advance their project when he is showering.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Fast, quirky and steamy.
Alpha male, quirky but strong and smart employee/neighbor, secretly in love with each other. Lively banter, funny but very passionate. Very well written.
Enjoyable, easy read. Both the H/h characters were well established. Overall a good read.
Didn’t particularly like the book. Not much of a story line.
A little too much sex scenes for me.
This book was awful. I’ve read some pretty raunchy books in my time but this book literally disgusted me to the point I couldn’t finish it. I actually deleted it from my library. There’s no taste in a book when every other word is F*** this and F*** that. It was completely unnecessary and ruined any love I had for the main character. And not only that, but the characters were not believable and neither was their “love story”. Its like there wasn’t even effort put into the plot and creation of the characters. Overall it was one of the worst books I have ever read and will never pick up another book by this author…if you can even call her that.
A quick, fun, steamy read. Loved it!
