Maddie’s mate is returning soon, and she wants to make his homecoming a special one. Pregnant Josie wants to seduce her mate all over again. The solution for both of them? A Valentine’s Day celebration, ice planet style. There’ll be kisses, scanty outfits, and a pair of reunions you won’t forget.Come and revisit two of your favorite couples from the original Ice Planet Barbarians series!
Here is another novella to catch up on previous characters. Maddie is hilarious and she has not been with her mate in a while. So she wants to do something special for him. What better way is that than to show her love. Lets show the aliens what Valentines day is. She as a surprise for him. Josie also tries to use this idea. It is funny because the men have no clue and realize that they do not want anyone seeing their mate in what they dressed in. It is a bit funny but much needed. I love that we still get updates on the older characters. This is another great novella for this series.
This one was definitely a great read and I was absolutely engaged throughout the entire short novella. I cannot believe they do it behind houses! I about died laughing. Great addition to the series!
AHHH!!! Oh my gosh it was so wonderful to be back with Maddie and Hassen and Joise and Haeden once again!!! I LOVE these two couples!!! This Novella is so sexy and fun!!!! I am so in Love with this novella!!! I’m so so happy we got this story!! I love seeing both of these couples as parents!!! This story was AMAZING!!!!
I love Ruby Dixon’s Ice-planet series. Her characters are diverse, lovable, and utterly addictive.
My guilty Valentine gift to myself this Valentine’s Day 2019!
You know? Sometimes you have to celebrate Valentine’s Day by yourself but with something special. So I appreciated the timeliness of this precious little novella of two of our favorite Ice Planet couples who basically did the same thing I did this year’s Valentine’s Day. Sometimes you have to take the initiative and do it yourself! So with Chinese take-away, I sat down and really enjoyed this great little moment in life which didn’t need an entire novel-length tome devoted to it.
Hassen’s been away at the Ice Home beach encampment way too long for Maddie’s liking, and she’s horny as hell! As she says: “I am not a woman designed for celibacy… I’ve moved passed the whole I’m-independent-and-fine to weeping-into-my-pillow-at-night.” Even her precious son with his disgusting new dirtbeak bird pet he’s been raising hasn’t raised her spirits. But with a clear day during the brutal time means the probability of Hassen’s return via Dragon Express. So she’s decided to implement a new holiday for Ice Planet.
But in Haeden’s and Josie’s hut, life isn’t all hearts and flowers. Josie’s pregnant for the third time, and this kit likes to kick her in the bladder a lot. Little toddler Joha ate a plant that made her vomit for the last few days straight. And youngster Joden makes the interesting comment to his father that Haeden and Mommy haven’t had any “tickle fights” at night for a rather long stretch. (The price of having to live in a single-room hut is that no privacy can be afforded!)
So that’s when Maddie puts the bug in Josie’s ear. A means to bring back the spark in their mateship which Josie so desperately wants as she feels all bloated and ugly as the brooding mare she sees herself to be at the moment. (It makes you wanna cry…)
I’m never a fan of holiday literature. As if the author MUST publish something timely with the upcoming Hallmark Moment celebration. But I’m giving this little piece a five stars review because it made me forget the cheesiness of many of these slice-of-life romance series novellas. I do want to know more about what’s going on Ice Planet without having to wait one to two years for the next novel to come out. And I appreciate Ms. Dixon’s wish to address issues that do come up when a couple has been together for at least ten years or more and makes one of them wonder where the romance has gone when you’re up to your elbows with kids and such. And I do appreciate that she’s into the reality of relationships. Sure, we read them for escapism, but we still cannot trust a story that doesn’t have some foothold in our everyday lives and the concerns we always have.
I love seeing our BIG, BLUE, and HORNY guys of Ice Planet have grown from newly-mated to full-blow parenthood. The patience involved!… If only there were more of these guys for real in our world…
Thank you, Ruby Dixon I, for one, had been so crushed when it looked like it was the end of any more Ice Planet novels. I’ll take these novellas any time if it’s the only way I’ll get my Ice Planet fix.
I am just a big fan of these Barbarians and these human women that go beyond their limit to see the LOVE they share grow even more. Loved this book.
Yummier than a box of chocolates
Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians, featuring Josie and Haeden, Maddie and Hassan. Both couples are now mated, with kit(s) and both hunters have been months away at the new Icehome tribal camp, training the island refugees in the ways of their new frozen home. It’s a sweet and sexy double dip slice-of-life story, as only Ruby Dixon writes ’em, with the warmth of family and home and the steam of separated mates being reunited. She continues to interweave the IPB and IceHome series characters together as the Ice Planet world expands in scope and detail. Great stuff!
3 stars – I liked it
A short but cute novella. Maddie creates a Valentine’s day surprise for Hassan since he has been away for months at Icehome. Josie uses the holiday to have a child free day for some alone time with Haeden. It was nice to check back in with both couples and see how much their relationships have progressed since their books.
