Everyone knows Megan and Cashol hit it off the moment they resonated…didn’t they? But when Josie goes into labor, an off-hand comment makes Megan point out to her friend that no, things weren’t always so smooth. Just because resonance is immediate doesn’t mean it’s immediately perfect.
But also…just because it’s an instant bond doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Sometimes it’s very, very right.
Cashol is so sweet and I really enjoyed his and Megan’s story. Cashol loved Megan the instant he saw her but she took longer to love him back. Cashol and Megan are an amazing couple that I enjoyed. Another great story with characters that I will never forget.
2 stars – It was ok
Megan and Cashol resonated quickly and everyone thought they hit it off right away, but that wasn’t the case. Megan and Cashol’s relationship was filled with anxiety, abandonment issues, and misunderstandings.
So while I like Megan in the present, past Megan was not my favorite. She suffers from anxiety and abandonment issues, which are understandable considering her history. The abandonment issues caused her to panic and freak out about little situations and misunderstandings. I didn’t like how it made her treat Cashol in the beginning and how she used him to try to secure her place. Also, Megan has a foot fetish, which doesn’t bother me, but it felt like it just kept getting thrown into the scenes abruptly which didn’t work for me.
Cashol was a sweet and fun alien. He was understanding of Megan’s trauma at losing her baby and tried not to push her in their relationship. I felt sorry for him in the beginning for how Megan treated him but I liked that he set boundaries after that. It made her realize how horrible she was being.
I definitely prefer this couple now that they are settled and are no longer dealing with the abandonment issues. The present day with them being a family was quite adorable, especially the pet scenes.
Trigger warnings: Megan is forced to have an abortion by alien kidnappers. She also has anxiety and abandonment issues.
Here is another of the original girls, Megan’s story. So we find out that it was not love at first sight like some may think. Megan finally tells her story of when Cashol and her resonated. Everyone thinks that it was wham bam but that is not the case. Megan was scared about everything. She thinks that if she does not find her place in the tribe or have a baby that she will be out on her own. She is terrified that once she does have a baby that she would no longer be needed. Cashol though he is in no hurry but wants to put her fears to rest. As she tells her story, it makes you think that maybe Josie should have spoken to her sooner. No matter she is happy with Cashol and would not change a thing. It is another great read.
I listened to the audible version of this story and absolutely loved it. The narrators did a fantastic job with this story and I’m looking forward to more of their work and more books from this author. Megan feels inadequate when it comes to the tribe and still dealing with the loss of her first baby. Cashol is just what she needs and he’s determined to make her happy. I enjoyed their story a lot. It’s sweet, funny, steamy, and has everything that comes along with this author’s stories. I just can’t seem to get enough of this series and I’m looking forward to more books from this author.
Lovely story
Things look different depending on where you stand. From outside looking in, Megan is perfect for Cahshol. From Megan’s viewpoint looking out, life is a constant worry over performance, a constant vigil lest the past seep into the present and ruin everything. Fortunately, khuis, or cooties as some women call them, Know just what is needed. And Cashol instinctively provides what Megan needs to heal and to love. Awesome story with silver lining happy ending.
Loved Megan’s story. Cashol was infatuated with Megan from the first time he first saw her. When she was saved by the sa-khui, Megan felt like she had to prove her worth to the tribe and once she and Cashol resonated, she also felt like she had to prove herself to him. They finally work things out when they take a day trip and spend time in a hunter’s cave together. It doesn’t take long for Megan to know she loves Cashol and they come together in love not just resonance.
As usual, a wonderful read! I just love this series! Cashol would be my perfect mate because he’s funny, sweet, calm, and reassuring. For Megan their relationship was bumpy to begin with, but turned out to be a blessing. You can’t go wrong with Ruby Dixon and the IPB series. 4 stars!
