It should have been a one-night stand. I never intended to seduce Taushen, but things happened. I don’t dwell on the past and while it was great, I’m not looking for a relationship. Of course, try telling that to Taushen. The big blue alien’s in love after one night, and it’s making things darn awkward. We’ve got bigger problems than whether or not I’m his woman, like the ‘cargo’ of the space … the space ship that landed here.
But Taushen’s not giving up. He thinks I’m his mate.
And he’ll do anything to keep me.

Well this one is eye opening, unfortunately for the sa-khui, they still have no clue. So we know that something happened between Taushen and Brooke in the previous book. Now what could that have been. So here we find out what happened. Oh boy was it interesting. So it seems that roles are reversed in this book. However, Taushen does not understand that Brooke was under the influence. These aliens are really into feelings and just all around good peeps. So Taushen does his best to understand Brooke. He watches her from afar until things change. However, he feels that he knows her. She on the other hand is learning that he was not like he is now. He used to be carefree and funny but he has changed. Someone is bound to change while all your friends finds happiness. So when they find themselves alone they learn a lot about each other. There are funny moments and moments where I was like come on Brooke give him a break. She was making things complicated when it is simple. It is a great story with a happily ever after.
Barbarian’s Tease (Ice Planet Barbarians) A Sci Fi Alien Serial Romance by Ruby Dixon. I love Ruby’s humour. Brooke and Taushen are great together but their resonance does not happen immediately. Which means their story is funny and sweet! Each female has resonated to another male but never to him. He has decided because his khui remains silent that he will no longer save himself for his resonate but he will spend time with Brooke. She only wants to scratch an itch but he has other plans.
I CAN’T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO RATE/REVIEW THIS BOOK! Ruby Dixon, I am sincerely sorry. My book slump has come between us, but I will not let it happen again. *hangs head in shame*
With that being said, I am going to have to apologize once more: I’m sorry, but this book was just okay. (So, maybe my book slump did come between Ruby and me again. Oops.) I’m not going to single out a certain character with pink hair that probably had a lot to do with it. *clears throat.*
This installment was all about Buh-brukh and Taushen. I refuse to call her ‘Brooke,’ although it is her name, because I like to think that I am somehow annoying this imaginary character.
Buh-brukh was a cosmetologist back on planet Earth, but now she is just the different human with pink hair. She feels useless. She has zero survival skills, so she will just continue to be the alien beautician. Another thing she is failing at? Resonance. And to add to the ever-growing list, she is failing at whatever type of relationship she has with Taushen. I really wanted to shout at her that she needed explain things to him better. He’s a flipping alien, woman! He isn’t used to human customs! He was legit trying, but she had to get all butthurt!
Now, Taushen’s character was lovely… a little on the slow side, but lovely. He is the ultimate alpha-hero. Even with his broken heart, he always looked out for Buh-brukh. Honestly, I felt bad that he was mated to her. She had him so confused and hurt that he walked on eggshells around her. And it made me so mad! However, once everything was discussed, they did compliment each other. I accepted it and moved on. Buh-brukh makes him happy, therefore I am happy. *sighs*
I am sad but happy that the ICB series has come to an end. When I should have been invested in Buh-brukh and Taushen’s relationship, all I could think about was the new members. I am super excited to IceHome, and to see what Ruby has come up with in her wonderfully imaginative brain of hers.

Taushen and Brooke’s story starts of with a bang! What started out as a one-night stand turns into best friends which then turns into lovers then mates. These two bring the angst! You get that hate to love you vibe which I love!! They are definitely sexy! This is the sexiest book in this series. Taushen has waited so long for a mate and he wants Brooke to be his so bad. Brooke just wants to fit in. She really like Taushen even though he is broody. Together they can spark a fire. I loved watching their relationship grow. It was fun and exciting!! This is such a good story!! I loved it!!
Taushen and Brooke’s story was okay. When it comes to this series either I find myself loving the stories or they turn out to be okay. However, there hasn’t been a story that I have completely hated or one that made me want to stop reading the series. I enjoyed Taushen’s character, Brooke however, tested all of my patience. I didn’t enjoy her character as much as I had hoped. There was just too much back and forth with her. When Taushen wanted Brooke, she didn’t want him and when he decided to respect her choice and be her friend then she wanted him. Brooke’s character used him when it was good for her and I didn’t like that aspect of the story. I’ll give the next book in the series a read because even though I didn’t love this story, I do like this series.
As always, these are fun reads! I’m not sure that I liked Brooke all that much, but still a great escape reading this one. Love that there’s more and more to this world!
16 books in and I still can’t get enough! I so enjoyed the interaction between Brooke and Taushen. The confusion and misunderstandings that result both from language/slang use and because of her worldliness and his naivete kept me entertained. I feel like I shouldn’t admit this but… I could so relate to Taushen. I can remember times (yes, I admit way more than one time) where I thought people’s intentions toward me were innocent, friendly and well, yeah… they weren’t. They were sexual. OOPSIE! Let’s just say I may have gotten into some awkward situations 😉
And now there are all these newbies on the planet. I can’t wait to see what is in store!!
Another great Barbarian book. I was so glad to see these two get a book. They both deserved their HEA and it was worth the wait. I giggled at both characters inner dialogue because they were opposites but also so perfect for each other. I’m very intrigued by the new comers and can’t wait to see what’s going to happen with this series next. 4 stars #2OCCJD
