It’s hard being the most popular girl on the ice planet. The alien men are falling all over themselves to impress me in the hopes that I’ll take them to my furs. But they don’t know my secrets – none of them do. And they don’t realize that behind my smile, I just wish they’d go away.
I don’t want any of them. I want someone else – someone with a gorgeous blue body, big horns, and the most … most intense gaze ever. He’s the only one that knows the truth. Maybe with him, I can work through my fears of the past….but I’m pretty sure he wants more than just friendship.
He wants forever, and I’m not sure I can give it.

I really enjoyed this book! Tiffany and Salukh were so cute! They fit very well! I loved the way they were written. It was easy to tell their voices and personalities apart. Very well done, Ms. Dixon!!!It’s absolutely wonderful how Dixon continues to keep this series so alive, and each book set a part from the last. It isn’t the same old story again and again, these are different people searching for different things. Yes, it’s erotica, and the plot does circle all the good naughty times they have, but the main story is so much more than that. Tiffany was raped by the aliens that abducted her, but no one knows it, and no one understands why all the male attention is driving her crazy. I love Saluhk, and the show of the difference between men who just wanted a prize, and a man who actually cares for a woman. This really took a look at the connections between them, and the struggle of a woman who’s trying to over come her fears and issues in a truly alien world. Really a great story, and it has me wishing the next book was out already.Tiffany…I can’t even. You get some pretty harsh assumptions about her in the previous books, she’s not the most warm of the human girls. Then when you start reading her story — lord. I had many, many moments when I fought tears. Everything about her story just got to me. By far my favorite of the books in this series. And the absolute devotion that she gets from her guy, the lengths he goes to try and be exactly what she needs is enough to make you swoon to death. Alien book boyfriend for sure..
I wasn’t a fan at first but soon ended up quite enjoying this story. I like how the attraction and feelings were there first, and that despite knowing one may resonate with someone else, they didn’t allow it to stop them and went ahead with the romance. I think the series needed this story, to show that an alien and human do have a shot at falling in love without fate pulling them together. Both characters are really great too. I felt for Tiffany, understanding why she was careful. But my oh my Salukh stole the show with his sweetness! I love how he refused to listen to everyone else and was determined to remain by her side. He’s so understanding with her trauma and just ugh, perfect!
Continuing on my obsession with these ice planet barbarians we have Salukh who played the long-game for Tiffany. While every other man was competing for her, Salukh started as a friend knowing in his heart that she was his mate. Tiffany slowly learned to trust Salukh who helped with her past traumas and she eventually fell in love with him. A cute addition to this series.
So what happens when you are the sought after female in the tribe. You just smile and be nice cause you are still terrified. So Tiffany is really pretty and all the unmated males are showering her with courting gifts. However she has some nightmares that are holding her back from having a happily ever after. Now she keeps herself busy. She is also thinking about leaving because she does not know if she can get past her issues and afraid the guys may change their mind. Tiffany’s friend does not want her to leave and so she set up a competition for the males. Tiffany is not sure about this but just goes with it. Then there is Salukh who does not chase her but is there to talk to her. He is not pushy but he knows in his heart that she is for him. This book has some issues that are hard to talk about and I loved to see how the Tiffany has grown. It seems as though the cootie as what the humans call has struck again and Salukh has managed to heal Tiffany. He was there for her when she needed it and showed her that she is strong enough. These two are perfect for each other.
Barbarian’s Prize by Ruby Dixon – This is on kindle unlimited. Tiffany has been working her fingers to the bone learning all the necessary survival skills to manage on her own on the Ice Planet Not-Hoth. She still hasn’t resonated, but she would rather live alone than with someone who brings all her fears screaming into her waking life. Salukh (anyone else thinking bad guy from Aladdin and the King of Thieves?) is patiently waiting for Tiffany because resonance or no resonance he is in love. This was the sweetest of the stories so far! Lots of cuddling lol! Happy Reading!
Barbarian’s Prize (Ice Planet Barbarians #5) A Sci Fi Alien Serial Romance by Ruby Dixon. I love Ruby’s humour. This story is about Salukh and Tiffany. He knows she has had a bad time and event though he knows she is his mate is willing to wait. But even an alien had his limits. Salukh is funny and often had me laughing out loud from his inner conversations. Unfortunately, Tiff was a little annoying in this one, but she had dealt with a lot. The story dragged a little in this one, but it was still a fun read.

Tiffany is the most popular girl on the planet with her choice of alien mates. Wouldn’t you know that a relationship is the last thing she wants. Tiffany has experienced some trauma and that affects her outlook on having a physical relationship, especially with an alien. I loved how the author handled her fears, nightmares and flashbacks. I appreciated that it took time for Salukh to build trust with her and that he was patient in helping Tiffany overcome her fear of physical touch. The way they handled this made the book for me. There is plenty of heart and steam in this one. Sometimes when no other book is grabbing you. you just need to read about a big blue alien Hero with a heart of gold.
I love these books! This one is not my favorite, but was still good. She is such a good writer and she just sucks you into the story. Every time i start one of these books I cant put it down. I love the characters and the growth they have.
I am so obsessed with this series. I enjoy it so much, I stop everything and read till I finish. Its a must know what’s going to happen now need to know type of book.
Its a short read but its so freaking perfect it will make you feel you’ve been in their world for days. I love how we get to hear from past characters and new ones. I truly am loving this world, its super enjoyable. I’m so excited this is only book 5 and that I still have more to look forward to reading.
I swear these books are like candy. I just can’t stop!
I feel horrible for Tiffany! But I give props to Salukh (hope I spelled that right) for not pressuring her into anything. Instead he tries to be her friend, to let her know she can lean on him. He might be intent on having her, but he controls himself and I’m impressed.
He even tries his best to win a contest to escort her to another “cave” (really a ship). He loses, but he doesn’t let it stop him from watching over her and protecting her.
This is one of my favorites in the series for the backstory of the characters and the feeling it leaves in my chest when I finish the book.
An excellent romance with a very serious theme, but overall, seriously good. I enjoyed seeing a more serious novel in the series. Great world building from an amazing storyteller. Love this series!
I listened to the audible version of this story and once again this series does not disappoint. I can’t wait to listen to more of these stories and continue to follow the human characters as they find their mate. This one definitely leaves you wanting more with an ending like that. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a good steamy paranormal romance that is enjoyable and will leave you wanting more.
Another great one in this series by Ruby Dixon! This is Tiffany’s story, and her relationship with Salukh. And WOW, Ruby Dixon can write a sex scene…not even sure what superlative I can offer on that! Tiffany is a realistic portrayal of a woman who’s been sexually abused before she arrives on the Ice Planet (Not Hoth, as the human residents call it). Her fears were quite recognizable and realistic to me, as I’m also a victim of sexual violence. Yet I found this story was so carefully handled, there were no triggers for me. I felt this story was warm and comforting in many ways, about a woman thrust into a crazy fictional sci-fi world and how she traverses her new environment. Salukh is simply charming as a “native” who gains her trust and eventually love. It’s a very lovely story with super-hot sex. If however you are a victim of assault, know that before reading.
