As captain of the galaxy’s only all-female bounty hunter crew, Danica thought she was prepared for anything. She wasn’t expecting him.Marooned on a sand planet, injured, and separated from her crew, Captain Danica Miller is not having a good day. When she’s rescued from the desert by a huge, gold-skinned alien, she doesn’t know whether to be relieved or to panic. Not only is he clearly a … clearly a barbarian—a barely-dressed one at that—he seems to be able to read her thoughts. Even worse? She can sense his. And he seems to think she’s his to claim.
The last thing K’alvek wants is a frail creature distracting him from his mission—even if he does feel drawn to her. Then why can’t he stop himself from saving the willful woman and vowing to help her and her crew get off the planet? Especially when what he really wants to do is drag her to his tent and never let her go.
This standalone action-romance novel features a feisty, all-female bounty hunter crew; gorgeous, sand planet barbarian warriors; action-packed battles; and steamy scenes in an exotic desert oasis.
If you like hot alien warriors, strong women, and fated mates romance with a happily ever after, you’ll love BOUNTY, the first book in Tana Stone’s sci-fi romance Barbarians of the Sand Planet series.

I loved this book, and couldn’t put it down, and I was disappointed when I finished. The characters were well rounded and believable, the world building was fantastic and the plot was intriguing. I liked FMC Danica she was tenacious, and didn’t let anything keep her down, I did feel she was a bit too stubborn. I can’t wait for book 2, this is a series I really want to follow, the narration was wonderful and expressive.
Feisty female Bounty Hunter finds her true mate!
by sewsummore
Danica and her all girl crew of Bounty Hunters were forced to crash land on a desolate desert planet after their ship was sabotaged by a rival band of Bounty Hunters. Danica and her second in command Tori ventured out in search of food and water but became separated when a dust storm hit. Injured and alone, she was rescued by a local hunter who helped her escape the sand. He had dreamt about a small woman and knew he had to find her, Danica also had strange dreams of an alien male that left her yearning for his touch. When she was rescued by K’alvek she recognised him as that same man. This was an exciting story about mates that were able to sense each other’s thoughts, his tribe called them Mind Mates and Danica was his. However romance between a females Bounty Hunter who travelled the stars and a simple desert tribesman had a rough and long road to acceptance. This is the first book, in a new series and I look forward to reading more in the series. The women in this story were feisty females who never expect to find romance there but I am sure that some if not all the other women will find mates as well.

Danica is the captain of the only all woman bounty hunter crew. They have been spectacularly successful in capturing high value targets. At the beginning of the story, they have bagged a target that can pay their expenses for nearly a year – Dr Max Dryden is worth every penny they can get to bring in the target. However… they have a rival with a take-no-prisoners attitude.
K’alvek is a Dothvek hunter who is grieving his father’s death and plotting revenge on his killers. He has no time for rescuing a gang of women who are weak and unsuited for his planet’s atmosphere. But then he meets Dany.
This is an exciting start to a new adventure series!
This is a fantastic Sci-fi alien romance & it is a splendid start to a new series. The world building is excellent with good scene descriptions. Oh yeah this is going to be another good series! The characters are hot alpha males and bada*s women. The new world setting is an awesome combination of primitive and ultra-technology.
Danica is the captain of an all female bounty hunting crew consisting of Bexli (shape shifting alien and her pet Pog), Caro (the pilot), Tori (the Zevrian security chief) and Holly (the engineer). This was a very good alien romance to read and review via the author and Booksprout. Danica took over her parents ship and bounty-hunting business when they died. Danica crews the ship with women and they become known as the only female bounty hunters. Danica and her crew capture a Dr. Max Dryden a scientist who has a high bounty on her. While leaving the planet they get fired on by a rival bounty hunter Mourad who wants their bounty. Mourad overtakes them and boards their ship. When Mourad can not find their bounty thinking the doctor is a man and not hiding among the crew, he sabotages the ship and they crash land on a deserted planet. Danica wakes up after dreaming about a strange alien man. One of her crew is hurt and now they have to survive on a unknown planet. This is just the beginning of Danica and her crew as Danica meets K’alvek who reluctantly helps them. I liked the interaction between the crew, the budding romance between K’alvek and Danica and the action which kept me entertained to the end. I enjoyed the story and look forward to the others in this series. ARC
Stuck in the middle of a bad situation (no supplies, no communication, and no ship) it helps when there are good friends who stuck together and is willing to help each other through. Of course, having a native that feels compelled to assist, regardless of how helping was not part of the his agenda, makes impossibility possible.

Female bounty hunters, Wow. Danica and her female bounty hunter crew crash and are marooned on a sand planet. Captain Danica is rescued by a huge golden skinned alien. Dressed as he is he is clearly a barbarian and he seems to be able to read her mind. K’alvek didn’t really want a frail creature slowing him down and distracting him from his mission. Very entertaining, action packed, with some twists and turns and a great adventure. Great HEA> I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Book one in the Barbarians of the Sand Planet series a well written story that kept me turning pages. I will be reading the next book. Captain Danica Miller and K’alvek’s story there is suspense, drama, danger, Mourad a evil bounty hunter, and romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Captain Danica Miller is a bounty hunter whose crew is entirely female. When a mercenary catches up to them and boards the ship, Danica has dressed the female scientist as one of her female crew. She then convinces Mourad — a mercenary and rival bounty hunter known to double-cross anyone and steal their bounty for himself – that Dr. Max Dryden, the MALE scientist, is nowhere on her ship. Looking for the “man”, they didn’t find him and Mourad decided to maroon Danica and her crew on an uninhabited planet to slow them down while he finds the scientist and claims the half a million credits. And they may even die there!
They are forced to land on the Sand Planet of Zandureen. But Danica was found and rescued by K’alvek, who is one of the native barbarian species of the planet and seems able to read her thoughts. To his own surprise, K’alvek finds himself agreeing to help Danica and her crew.
This book provides an exciting adventure, with danger, drama, twists and turns to navigate. K’alvek and his warriors are strong alphas who take what they want, and he wants Danica! Will she choose to leave him behind once her crew is saved?

This book, is entertaining, action packed and thoroughly enjoyable. The chemistry between the characters of Danica and K’alvek is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This novel was written cleanly and edited well, with few typos I could detect. This novel is the first in a new series by Tana Stone, the author of the Drexian Brides sci-fi romance series. This book really showcased the author’s ability to build a new world, with all the vibrant details about the desert planet and the hero’s tribe of empathic natives. The characterization was competent for such a short novel, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic characters I was rooting for. This novel has plenty of adventure and suspense elements, with a medium amount of relationship miscommunication and angst, but not enough to irritate, in my opinion. This novel’s narrative structure was medium angst and high stakes, with all the times during the story that either the hero or the heroine was in danger. That is one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. I prefer high stakes in my romance novels. This novel has a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that is a plus. This novel contains the Fated Mates trope, so I recommend this story to anyone who likes that trope. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and recommend it to anyone who enjoys alien sci-fi romances that contain the Mars Needs Women trope.

Here we have the beginning of a new SCI FI series, – female bounty hunters! That is at least fresh! The reason for why I am not the author but the avid reader is clear in this story!!! The imagination needed to come up with this, just WOW …. I believe that to be the same or at least something similar as what I thought when reading the first story I read by this author on the “Love Boat” and all that happened there… This story has a really really good storyline and really good is something well worthy of repeating while describing a lot of dofferent aspects of this story!!! Storyline, characters, settings – it doesn´t really matter where one tries to sy anything else than WOW … so fantastic and rare five stars from me!!!

This is the first book in the Barbarians of the Sand Planet Series, a Sci-Fi Romance. This is a great introduction to the series. Danika and K’alvek’s story is fun, entertaining, action packed and fast-paced. The world building is well done, interesting and intriguing. Sierra Grace and Tristan Josiah did a great job with the narration. Now, I am looking forward to listen to Captive, the next book in the Series.

Fabulous story, boring romance, cardboard characters
Tana Stone’s alien romance, Bounty, frustrated me. On the upside, this is an incredibly-well imagined and multi-layered story of potentially epic proportions. Finely constructed world-building sets up multiple conflicts:
1. viciously competitive bounty-hunter rivalries,
2. women staking out their place in a male-dominated field,
3. an evolutionary divergence in an alien species which leads to a bitter cultural divide,
4. the threat of extinction to both alien populations
5. one alien warrior’s personal loss and quest for vengeance,
6. political machinations in the tribe of alien warriors alien warriors
7. an all-female, mixed species crew stranded on the aliens’ desert planet
It’s a treasure-trove of science fiction tropes that interweave in tantalizing snapshots, always leaving the reader eager to know more, slowly compiling an understanding of the bigger picture. I’m fascinated. I’m hooked!
The downside? All this is viewed through the multiple POV of Danica (human female ,bounty hunter), and K’alvek (barbarian alien warrior). Their supposed love story is weird, and oddly un-engaging. The author contrives for them to have dream sex before they even meet. The romance proceeds along a well-worn path – initial resistance followed by tediously detailed sex, despite the fact that she’s awaiting rescue and he is focused on his mission… The romance has no fire, the sex is downright boring.and Danica in particular is a complete stereotype. But the overall tale is SO compelling, I ended up skimming the soporific sex, and really enjoying the rest of it. Readers whose focus is sex will love this book. Readers who want all the feels, not so much. SF and fantasy fans will find much to delight them, while regarding the romance as a trivial annoyance. I have to call it three stars, but I do intend to pursue the series. This is a voluntary ARC review.
