Breaking up was never so hard…
Going undercover at a mass wedding as a bartered bride, Morrigan Blake has every intention of getting off the barbaric planet just as soon as it’s over. Or, more correctly, just as soon as she captures footage of the mysterious princes rumored to be in attendance.
After a euphoric night, Morrigan discovers her spaceship left without her, and Ualan of Draig is … Ualan of Draig is claiming she’s his wife. It’s not exactly the story this reporter had in mind. And to make matters worse, the all-too-seductive alpha refuses to take no for an answer.
Being cursed by the Gods was never so frustrating…
Prince Ualan is prepared to follow dragonshifter tradition and marry the woman revealed to him during the Breeding Festival. When the stubborn, yet achingly sexy, Morrigan refuses to accept their shared fate and his supreme authority over her, it is all he can do to keep from acting like the barbarian she accuses him of being.
About the Series:
The dragon shifting Princes have no problem with commitment. In one night, they will meet and choose their life mate in a simplistic ceremony involving the removing of masks and the crushing of crystals. With very few words spoken and the shortest, most bizarre courtship in history, they will bond to their women forever. And once bonded, these men don’t let go… Too bad nobody explained this to their brides.

Going undercover to a secretive planet as a possible bride for the mysterious shifter males there is just another job for Morrigan. When she makes a connection with a sexy warrior she’s not sure what to do. Ualan is a prince and a dragon shifter and a warrior who recognizes Morrigan as his mate. What follows are a continuous series of misunderstandings and mistakes between the couple that keep them apart. Frustratingly, many could have been avoided if Morrigan had read the supplied information, which as a reporter one would think she would. Hot hero you want to keep… check
Engaging plot… check
Drama… check
Strong heroine you rally behind… meh
Total rating… 4.5 stars
I wanted to love this as much as I have just about everything else Ms. Pillow has written that I have managed to get my hands on, but I didn’t. Did I like it… yes, did I love it… sadly no. I know what my problem was though. It had nothing to do with the plot, that was unquestionably entertaining and engaging. My issue was with the heroine. I can’t say that I would not react the same as she did in some of the situations she was faced with. However, there were times when she just came across as unlikeable and I found it hard to root for her when I didn’t really like her. She acted like a spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum through most of the story. Granted the different culture and laws do not exactly make it easy for these two to avoid miscommunication and misunderstandings. However, only a child destroys an entire house that belongs to someone else, because she doesn’t get her way. So although I felt for her and her situation, I also felt that it was all of her own doing. So unfortunately I had to deduct a half star for the undeserving heroine. I just didn’t like her.
Now that being said, I enjoyed reading Barbarian Prince. Ms. Pillow has shown herself to be a true master of world building and I cannot wait to read about the other brothers and their issues with their brides. From the small hints we are given, they’re having a doozy of a time as well.
Morrigan Blake is an undercover reporter on assignment, pretending to be a bride to get the inside scoop on the mysterious customs and royal family of an alien planet. Prince Ualan finds her irresistible, and has no clue what challenges await him when he picks his reluctant bride.
I really enjoyed this sexy, emotionally engaging romance. I was fascinated by the juxtaposition of Morrigan’s world and Ualan’s, as well as kept on the edge of my seat to see what the fireworks sparking between the two would lead to next. I adored both characters, but more, how the interacted and how their feelings for each other developed. Morrigan’s determination to get her story and not marry Ualan sets the scene for a fierce, delightful battle of wills as the new couple get to know each other and plot their new course forward together. Their love story is an engrossing adventure from start to finish, introducing an intriguing new planet and species of alien, as well as a handful of princes and their brides who have their own stories. Pillow also has a distinct view of dragon shifters and the world they people, and their customs. I’m very much looking forward to reading other stories of hers!

This book was originally published in 2011 and Michelle Pillow has gone back and did some editing as authors will do after a period of honing their skills. I found this to be an interesting. I have not read the original so can offer no comparisons. Ms. Pillow is a favorite author though I have not read any of the Dragon Lord series until now.
We start with our reporter heading off to a Breeding Festival where 4 Princes will choose their brides from the many who have volunteered to participate. It is never her intent to stay for the full event but to get information/pictures of the 4 princes who are very protective of their privacy and rituals. Things do not go smoothly for our reporter as she becomes a chosen bride.
While the prince and others know and understand the rituals, our reporter has not done her due diligence and, even selected, believes she can leave whenever she wants. She steps over what is considered acceptable behavior and is punished, she thinks. What follows is a road of misunderstanding, learning, and love. Both are strong willed individuals who demonstrate bad history can color behavior and knowledge can help change it.

The first book in the Dragon Lords series a well written story with a very good storyline, the story flowed smoothly across the pages. Morrigan Blake a reporter and Prince Ualan’s story of suspense, drama, danger, secrets, twists, turns, villains, and romance. A story that was well worth reading.
Morrigan and Ualan have an interesting story. It is well written with great action, steam, intrigue, and chemistry. This has great world building and characterization. This is a great read.
I found this book was interesting but a little slow
at times.
Plot was interesting but didn’t have the something
to pull you in right from the start.
Characters have chemistry .
Be warn there’s a bit of BDSM scenes at times.

This story is set in the Qurilixen word. Morrigan goes undercover posing as a bride to get a story on the sacred Breeding festival. She never intended to actually become the bride. Ualan is a prince and participant in the festival. Their union is one misunderstanding after another. I loved Ualan’s character. He tried so hard to not be the barbarian she kept calling him.
I am excited to read the other stories set in this world.
I started reviewing this series (and this book) in 2016 and the BARBARIAN PRINCE has remained my favorite character in my favorite book since then! (I must admit the cute guy on the cover may be a major factor in that.) The world building is really good. The characters are believable and many are very likable. I already have my favorites!
Grab your copy and start to build your own memories. These stories will definitely have a place in your reading library for years to come – I’m proof of that! And like a fine wine, this author still keeps getting better and better!
I love the Qurilixen World; it is such a fun place to read about. I really like how the women get to choose whether or not to accept the man, and in this case, I loved Ualan right from the beginning. I also liked Morrigan. It was fun to watch her misunderstand things and then realize the truth. Lesson learned: Always pay attention to the fine print! With romance and drama as well as the author’s smooth-flowing writing make this book a definite must read.

Loved this book. The relationship between Morrigan and Ualan is great. I love how she was strong and he put her happiness above his. Their power struggles are wonderful. The way the princesses bonded.

I have read this book and if it disappeared from my Kindle tomorrow, I would be straight to Amazon to buy it. It was amazing. It was an out of this world romance with brilliantly charismatic lead characters, a supporting backdrop and plenty of detail. The descriptive talents of the author makes the storyline engaging and you lose track of time while reading. Easy to read; easier to get lost in.
Exactly as described in the book blurb, this book rates a five star recommendation – give me more, please.

I read the original book and the new expanded book was just as enjoyable. The main characters were wonderful and loved this whole series.
This is an alien, fated mates romance book. It’s very well written, has action, some very steamy scenes and a happily ever after ending guaranteed. Morrigan is an undercover reported posing as a potential bride for the qurilixens. There are some strange rumours going round of them only wanting virgins and the company transporting them even repairing their virginity. The very last thing she expects is to be chosen by a warrior. Definitely not a warrior prince. Ualan makes her feel things she never has before and soon she wants him just as much and thought of her story fade.

I enjoyed rereading the book, having already read the entire Qurilixen World series! (I am slowly re-reading all the books in the series.) Love the Qurilixen world, and all its many characters!

Barbarian Dragon Shifter. Need I say more to get your attention. Okay, here it goes. This is a rough romance, so please be warned that the hero is less than chivalrous sometimes. There is plenty of sci-fi action and the story itself is fast-paced and engaging. I look forward to the next book.
This is an honest review of an ARC.

The four Draig Princes of Qurilixian are ready to choose Brides .So when Morrigan Blake a hot and upcoming reporter goes undercover as a Bride and tries to score the story of a life time to get her on top. Things don’t go as planned .On her way to the planet all brides are give the ultimate makeovers and informed of what is happen if they are chosen. If not they are to return and travel to other planets. Prince Ualan is to take part in the bonding ceremony the one where he is to choose a Bride and she choose him. Not all goes well that night or the next day for Morrigan she fools thing up by her foolish actions. She can’t or won’t choose Ualan as her husband and master. She decides if he wants to be a master she’ll be a slave before she takes him as a husband.
Things heat up as sexual games are played but they lead to frustration as the two are so alike and stubborn neither gives in and causing so much sexual tension .The story is also filled with adventure and acceptance.
Danger is also close at hand at every corner make it a page turner. What will happen next will the two finally come together as a couple or will secrets and fear tear them further apart.
The detail to character development, describing the scenes and the character’s emotions without over doing it, was great. The interaction and chemistry between the characters was also great. The plot line was awesome. The world came alive, I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I enjoyed reading this book. Was 8t war and peace? No. Was it a great and must read book? No. But neither of these stopped my enjoyment of reading it.
Sometimes you wanr an epic read and sometimes you want to be whisked away from life. Why not go to another planet where the night only comes once
