The ice planet has given me a second lease on life, so I’m thrilled to be here. Sure, there’s no cheeseburgers, but I’m healthy and ready to be a productive member of the small tribe. What I didn’t anticipate? That there’d be a savage stranger waiting nearby, watching me. And when he takes me captive, the unthinkable happens…I resonate to him.
Resonance means mating, and children…but I … children…but I don’t know if this guy’s ever been around anyone before. He’s truly a barbarian in all ways, right down to clubbing me over the head and claiming me as his own.
So why is it that I crave his touch and hunger for more?

LOVE!!!!!!
I am completely in love with this series. I’ve always like the out-of-the-box kind of books and these definitely fall into that category. Ruby Dixon has done an amazing job with her heroines, each of the ladies is completely unique as are the heroes.Harlow, holy crap I love this heroine. LOVE HER! And I can’t tell you how sweet this romance is…male virgin! Wild man… sigh. So much amazingness. This book is one you cannot put down and the twists and turns never seem to stop. Get ready to have your heartstrings pulled!!
This one is my absolute favorite so far. Not that I haven’t loved all of them but something about these two characters together just sparked something in me to an even greater degree. I know I will enjoy each and every story to come, because the author is just that talented but I also know that I will come back to this one often, to reread and live amongst them again and again. I’m so glad that we didn’t have to wait through a dozen more books before the women started going into labor, I was getting impatient wanting to get a peek at the babies.
This book has to be one of my favourites of the series. I felt like we went back to the beginning of the series with this one. Rukh is one of the blue aliens, but he lives alone avoiding the main tribe we’ve seen in the series. After spotting Harlow, he gets rightly protective and clubs her over the head and brings her to his cave. Once she wakes she realizes they’re resonating for each other. Interestingly, with the others, mainly the first, resonating wasn’t known to the humans, but in this one it’s Harlow who knows what’s happening and nor Rukh being as he was raised away from everyone else. All he knows is he wants to keep her.
Caveman plus aliens. Yes please. In a crux, that’s what this book is. Harlow rightly avoids the bond for a bit but she’s trapped with him, so eventually caves to him. Thus a one year time jump
I felt this book interesting though. She tries to escape only once, and never again, believing the tribe hates her, but I almost find it hard to believe she wouldn’t want to go find them just once to check.
Of alien backstories, I feel Rukh’s is the most interesting. We hear the start of his story in book 3, unknowingly then of course. The story was there, but now we get the other side as well as the result of that one alien’s actions. I was all the way there for it and loving every second of this addicting book.
Loved the ending as well. Without giving away spoilers, I’m glad we finally got to see it happening because after 4 books I wanted to witness the outcome of all this!
4 stars!
One of my favorites out of the series so far… This book had so much plot as well. I’m beginning to think I prefer these books to have a plot in them (lol).
This story is more of a Tarzanish retelling considering the fact the male main character has not been around anyone else in like years so his language is old and practically doesn’t know the new language. But I do want to point out that Ruby Dixon is using this ‘kidnapping’ troupe a little bit too much it’s starting to irk my nerves.
This book talks about long lost families and what the term family actually means. I love the fact that this book took on the span of over 1 year. These two characters were so freaking cute and heartwarming. (that’s probably why I read the book in a day.)
P.S. DO NOT GO INTO THESE BOOKS EXPECTING ALIEN SMUT BECAUSE THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS IS! THIS WHOLE SERIES ALL SHARE A PLOTLINE. OTHERS ARE BRANCHED OFF AND SOME A SOLELY BASED ON RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT.
EITHER WAY, I WOULD HIGH RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING QUICK TO READ. XD
Easily my 2nd fave couple after Liz & Raahosh (a bit ironic if you’ve read it). Super excited for this one because of how book 3 ended for Harlow. This one follows Harlow & Rukh whom we don’t know much about either one of them which I appreciated because I didn’t have any biased opinions formed of them beforehand. One thing is that it is fast paced & jumps through time a lot. In this book we also get to see how close knit everyone in the tribe is.
This is my favorite book in the series. I’m not done reading all of them, yet, but I have read past this one and it still remains in top place. I guess it just has all the bells and whistles that I need in a romance. I love how their inability to communicate wasn’t easily fixed, but it didn’t hamper Harlow and Rukh’s ability to bond with each other. I cried towards the end, twice. The first time when we learn Rukh’s tragic past, the fact that he grew up all alone, a little blue alien boy on a wild ice planet and he saves the girl, is sweet to her. I mean he did hit her over the head and drag her off caveman style, but I found that really endearing. I love Harlow! She was the reason for the second sob session. I won’t ruin it for you. Read this book!
Harlow and Rukh have an interesting story. So if you read book three you know something happened to Harlow. So Rukh is like a lone ranger. He has been on his own since he was a child. So he does not trust the tribe. He was told other wise. Harlow is smart and she likes to stay busy. However, when she meets Rukh the language barrier is hard for her to relate to him. She cannot deny the resonating coming from both their chest. She decides that she is not going to run from it. I loved how these characters developed through out the book. There are some parts that get intense and scary. I was scared for Harlow at one point and felt sorry for Rukh. He is not a social person and it kind of freaks him out. However, we do find out that he loves her and that is all that matters. We do get a happily ever after.
Barbarian Mine (Ice Planet Barbarians #4) by Ruby Dixon – This is on kindle unlimited. Rukh kidnaps Harlow leaving two of the tribes warriors wounded and alone. And I spent the last book wondering why Harlow never tries to make contact with the tribe despite finding the one dude on the planet who isn’t living in the family network. It makes more sense when she feels guilty! I gotta tell you that baby alien human hybrids sound strange, but I really liked this little family! Happy Reading!
That little teaser in Barbarian Lover of Harlow’s section was the perfect lead in to her own story. I love that she just went with the flow of things with Rukh. She let him lead her to where he thought safety was and he devoted his life to her in that swoony ice barbarian way they have. I am loving this sci-fi romance series!
Barbarian Mine (Ice Planet Barbarians #4) A Sci Fi Alien Serial Romance by Ruby Dixon. I love the blue horned horney barbarians. I love the human women and how they have their aliens wrapped around their hearts. I love Ruby’s humour. This is another wonderful story in the series, and I loved it so much I couldn’t put it down, ok well that happens with most of the books. This story of Rukh and Harlow was definitely an emotional read more so than the others. I love this Not-Hoth world that Ruby has created and her blue horned aliens.

Harlow has a secret. When she ends up resonating with Ruuk, they end up having an extra long honeymoon together. She is committed to making a home with him. Plans change suddenly and the importance of the tribe and family is reinforced. Ruuk and Harlow have to overcome communication difficulty more without outside assistance. An interesting new take on communication in the series.
I’m truly Im aww of this series! Every book gets me hook that I devour them fully! I love everything about this series. each book has the best hook ups. I love those story and enjoy reading how they each fall in love with each other. They are funny, mixed with some intriguing moments. I enjoy we get some more from past characters. And best of all I have more to read which for now makes me excited. I have been reading this series nonstop.
This is Harlow and Rukh story! It’s different from the others but just like rest it’s truly good. There is a bit of. “OH Wow” moments but both find comfort in each other and both learn together.
What I truly loved about this book is we finally get some babies!!! That was my favorite part actually. I can’t wait for the rest and read about more Aliens babies!
When I read the description, I went, “Eh…”. So I read some free pages on Amazon, and went, “OOhhh”.
It took me just 2-3 hours to read this book and I couldn’t put it down! The description doesn’t do it justice. She writes a hot love story, but still gives you anxiety about the characters and what they will do. I enjoyed this sci-fi book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
Such a fun, sexy alien romance read. It sounds so crazy, but this series is awesome. And I freaking loved Ruhk. I didn’t love Harlow as much. Because she purposefully hid from the tribe for a weak reason after her ‘kidnapping’.
I listened to the audible version of this story. I have to admit that so far this is my favorite story yet. I loved that every story is different from the previous and it’s a story that leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait listen to the next one in this series. It’s steamy, full of paranormal creatures and the story does not disappoint. I can’t wait for more.
This is one of my more favorite storylines that I have read so far in the Ice Planet series. I love Harlow in all of her appearances in the series, and think it is amazingly cool how mechanically adept she is. I did not think it was neat, however, how Raahosh just assumed, and everyone in the tribe went along with the idea, that she had run off by herself in a frozen wasteland, just because she disappeared during the latest alien invasion. That they didn’t send out a search and rescue party, at least later on, really rankles me. Vektal is once again a bit of a jerk in this volume, even though he is just trying to do what is best for the tribe. But I can’t believe how he is even again considering trying to break up a resonance pair. Harlow did end up with a true barbarian, that’s for sure; especially given the way that she and Rukh come to be together. But he is ultimately so innocent, funny, intelligent, sweet and loving that it is impossible for her not to fall for him. And I guess it is only fitting that it should be him who is the male lead, since Raahosh so far is my next favorite one. And their interactions have such an amazing story to tell in their own right.
My favourite book in this series. I loved the characters and the Jane/Tarzan relationship
This book was so fun and the two main characters are some of my favorite fantasy characters *I’ve ever read*. Rukh is the most savage on a planet of savages, having been orphaned and unknowingly abandoned in the wilds as a small child. He is quiet, brooding, completely feral, vicious, and alpha, and when he follows Harlow into the woods alone he ‘resonates’ to her and panics.
Harlow is a great character, she’s smart, witty, compassionate, understanding, and the perfect foil for Rukh’s lone-wolf life. Their story was really fun to read, and they are so good together. Rukh is tender and devoted to her, and she is patient and kind and loves to blow his innocent mind.
These two show up off and on throughout the series and even have some POV chapters in one of the novellas, so if you like them, keep reading! Also, Rukh is my new book-boyfriend and I’ll cut anyone who tries to argue. DREAMBOAT.
Barbarian Mine is book four in the Ice Planet Barbarians series by Ruby Dixon. This one is Harlow and Rukh story.
Brief Run Down
A dozen women are stranded on an alien ice planet after the ship they were in crashed. That ship was going to an unknown destination and their futures were not of their own. They were considered cattle by their abductors. Now on an alien plant the women find themselves freed, the only issue…surviving on the icy planet. With no way to survive one sets out to look for life and finds the natives, which consist of 7ft blue alien men with horns and a tail.
This story focuses on the Tarzan theme. Hi, I’m Harlow…H a r l o w points to self then points to him Rukh…R u k h. You get the point.
Harlow is one of the human women who ended up on this icy planet.
Rukh is not known to the tribe. He has been living, surviving, and avoiding the blue ones since he was a child. He is the most barbarian of them all. He doesn’t know how to speak and that he avoids the bad blue aliens; because of something his father said a very very long time ago. Kids are impressionable and so what his daddy said kept him away from his people and learning more.
Well as you can guess Harlow is caveman stilled away and so their relationship starts. Yep, she learns right away that he is more barbarian/caveman than any of the others. Why does she not go back? Well she has her reasons and so, they set off to his home at the beach.
We finally get to see a little more of the icy planet. Time passes about a year, he learns to talk, and they fall in love. Eventually the ‘bad blue aliens’ as Rukh calls them show up. Harlow gets an unexpected visitor, finally learns that things are not as bad a she thought, and Rukh well surprise (can’t say spoiler), but really you could tell it was coming.
The story for the most part was predictable and Harlow I felt acted out of character. Even though we don’t know much about her up until now, it just didn’t feel right with her running away instead of facing the tribe. Even with that, I still couldn’t put this book down and went out and bought the next one.
If you like your sci-fi books romantic, funny, and steamy, then you need to give these a try. They are highly addictive, so beware! All the hero and heroine’s have great chemistry and there are some steamy sex scenes to spice things up.
