Twelve humans are left stranded on a wintry alien planet. I’m one of them. Yay, me.
In order to survive, we have to take on a symbiont that wants to rewire our bodies to live in this brutal place. I like to call it a cootie. And my cootie’s a jerk, because it also thinks I’m the mate to the biggest, surliest alien of the group.

BARBARIAN ALIEN is a sequel to ICE PLANET BARBARIANS. You do … PLANET BARBARIANS. You do not have to read both in order to understand the plot, but the story will be richer if you do!

I am completely in love with this series. I’ve always like the out-of-the-box kind of books and these definitely fall into that category. Ruby Dixon has done an amazing job with her heroines, each of the ladies is completely unique as are the heroes.
Okay, so I thought I really liked book one, but to me, this one was a little bit better. It took me a bit to warm up to Liz, but the more I read, the more I really liked her. And Raahosh, yeah, he might act little a big ole brute, but he’s actually just a big ole mushy softie, and I adored him so much.
I honestly loved the slow build between these two, and it makes the story that much sweeter.
There were so many funny parts, and I laughed out loud more than once. I really grew to love these two so very much. Their bond is amazing, and I love how Liz stepped up for Raahosh, when no one else did. They are actually adorable together, and I can’t wait to jump right into the next one. I guess I am hooked now for sure.
The smut factor is out of this world hot — see what I did there? Aliens, out of this world. Yeah, I’m lame. Don’t let the strangeness of aliens and human relationships scare you off, especially if you like paranormal stuff. Vampires, shifters, aliens … tomato tomatoh. Aside from super fantastic smut, the storyline is solid. There is enough introduction to all of the characters that you are left excited for the next installment. It’s also great to get to see the previous characters and how their relationships are moving forward

I’m loving these big, blue aliens and how freak nasty they are! Going into this book, I knew that Raahosh had resonated for Liz, but seeing as how I didn’t really like her, I didn’t think I’d be interested in reading their story. However, I’m glad I took the time to do so because I can’t regret getting to know her mate. Living a lifetime of solitude, wishing for what he could never have, Raahosh couldn’t believe his luck when his tribe found the human women. And to have found a resonation with one of them was a blessing. If only she didn’t look at him with such hate.
She will be my first everything. My first mate. My first lover. The mother of my children.
As much as I enjoyed this book… as much as I welcomed the turning of Liz’s feelings for Raahosh, I couldn’t quite fall in love with this story. It’s just that Liz hit him one too many times. I can’t stand the fact that if he had put his fist to her face, everyone would be screaming with vitriol and charged with vengeance, but when she does it to him, it’s supposed to be okay because she’s reasonably upset. Nope. I don’t swing that way. I firmly believe that NO ONE has the right to put their hands on another person. I don’t care if those hands belong to a woman. And here’s the kicker to my logic… if a woman hits a man, she should expect (and be prepared) for him to hit her back. So anything that happened after the hit upon hit upon hit lost its luster. Nothing was able to compel me to overlook her violence towards him. I could get past her nasty words and her disgusting attitude, but I couldn’t get past that. All three of the stars I’ve rated this book with belong to Raahosh and honestly, I would give him all of the stars if it wouldn’t go against my code. Overall, it was a decent story that could have been a great one and I’m still going to continue with this series because I’m hoping this was an isolated incident.
That’s my favorite book I like the two characters …. Liz and Raahosh
3 stars!
Definitely my least favorite of the series so far only because the two main characters in this book were dicks (they even said so themselves). And oh my geez, it was so freaking annoying. The male main character did whatever the fuck he wanted to do just to keep his mate which included ‘kidnapping her’ and taking her to his cave. Not to mention even forced her to do things she did not want to do. The female main character even pointed out that she never had gotten a say or gotten to make her own choice when it came to their relationship.
And I’m going to be completely honest here and say that the plot was hella predictable which made it also less enjoyable. The only think I enjoyed was the sexy, steamy times they shared and at the very end of the book when the female main character actually made her own choices and decisions.
I would still recommend this book and series because it’s really good and I only read two books in the series so far. I hope I will enjoy the next one in the series whenever I get around to it.
Barbarian Alien is the second book in the IPB series. Raahosh & Liz’s story was definitely interesting. Stubborn human and stubborn alien make for a very entertaining read. I enjoyed watching them come together and seeing a softer, caring side to Raahosh.
OMG I love book 2 even more than book 1. I’m so into this series! How do I stop?
Raahosh is my favourite so far. I love how misunderstood he is, how quiet, how he’s so used to being judged and unwanted that even when he finally gets what he wanted, a mate, he remains silent about the whole thing. HIs messed up past makes him scared the others will take Liz away after rescuing her and the other women, so he steals her away only vowing to return until they’re fully mated and she’s pregnant.
Cue heartbreak. This almost seemed like it was going to take a darker twist but I should know by now this series is remaining in the sweeter, steamier side. It’s not dark, but there’s definitely angst. You just feel for the guy!
Liz was also a pleasant character. As expected, she doesn’t jump into the idea of being with him. She resists, making the development of the romance a good pace. Nothing felt rushed or even unrealistic.
Overall, so far my favourite and I’m so curious to continue this series and see if someone else beats this couple. Although Kira’s situation seems to be shaping up to be amusing.
At first I was not excited because I couldn’t remember which girl was Liz & I was already in love with G&V. Liz & Raahosh’s story is more of an enemies-lovers. But I just hated Liz. She was so mean to Raahosh & he is such a quiet/awkward guy & I felt bad for him. HOWEVER, at some point towards the middle when Liz finally stops being so mean I fell in love with them Their story stressed me out with the drama at the end & it made me see Georgie & Vektal in a different light & now I dislike them.
Liz and Raahosh, now these two were meant for each other. One broody and possessive male and one crazy, I can do what you do too kind of girl. However, you can’t help but fall in love with these two. Liz is not one to hold her tongue and oh boy does that get away from her. Then you have Raahosh and we get an understanding for the way he is. Now he may have done some thing dumb but you need to understand that he thought it was in the best interest for him and Liz. It could have gone completely wrong but it didn’t and I loved the fact that she stands next to him and fights for him as he does her. It is a great follow up story in this.
I am surprisingly loving this sci-fi series about blue barbarian’s living on an ice planet. Liz and Raahosh had amazing chemistry in this enemies to lovers romance. There were hints of a Beauty and the Beast like story which I loved. There was a lot of dislike, some humor from feisty Liz and a lot of love. I cannot wait to read the next story in the series.
Barbarian Alien by Ruby Dixon – This series is on Kindle Unlimited. I’m gonna give TikTok props for this recommendation because this series is wacky but fun! Liz is pragmatic and spunky, but she has met her match for stubborn in Raahosh. When he forces her to accept a symbiotic parasite and kidnaps her, he knows that he is risking exile. But his Liz is worth the risk, and when they are found Liz realizes that Raahosh is worth the risk as well! Liz manages sassy, sneaky, and sweet perfectly! This one might end up being my favorite! Happy Reading!
3.5 Stars Raahosh is such a fun character. In theory this series is completely bingeworthy. My problem seems to be I don’t like the female characters. I understand why they would be the way there are, but Liz has been unlikeable for 2 books now. Will I continue with this series? Probably. Will I do it immediately, no, not likely.
Barbarian Alien (Ice Planet Barbarians #2) A Sci Fi Alien Serial Romance by Ruby Dixon.
Liz and the other Human women are trying to adapt to life on an alien planet with barbarian alpha blue alien men who have been severely lacking in women and who all would like to find their mates. Ruby has given us something original, funny and witty although at times heartbreaking.
I admit I am addicted.
Ice planet series
be mad about?
3.5 stars
This book picks up right where the previous book ends. Liz finds herself kidnapped by Rahhosh. She is fighting resonance but the more she learns about Rahhosh the more she likes him. When they finally are forced to return to the others Liz has to fight with everything she has to keep their little family together.
Liz and Rahhosh are one of my favorite couples, which is why I wanted to reread this one. I just love how sarcastic and determined Liz is. I will admit that in the beginning of this book I didn’t love how Liz was treating Rahhosh but she quickly changes that once she actually puts an effort into knowing him.
Also the language and culture barrier between these two was hilarious. Rahhosh is a quiet one while Liz talks too much, which causes some problems. Rahhosh is a scared lonely male who just wants his own family. I enjoyed watching these two bicker and fall for each other. It was adorable. Overall, a great alien romance.
Raahosh is definitely an alpha male alien. He is protective and will do anything for his mate. Liz is the human his khui has chosen and she is not excited when she gets her symbiont that agrees. Liz is fiery, fierce, and has a very strong mind of her own. She is somewhat mean to Raahosh to begin with, but I could kind of understand given what she had been through. I really appreciated that Raahosh took his time with her and that she learned to care deeply about him. I love that their relationship allows Liz to have a more equal role and that human customs that she fights for influence the roles the humans will have within the tribe. The book has plenty of heat, some laughs, and some angst with a solid HEA.
I love this story. The characters are relatable and interesting. The interactions between them had me cracking up a lot. There are a lot of feels in this story.
Liz was one of twelve humans that were abandoned by their abductors on an alien ice planet. To live on the ice planet requires them to take a khui, a symbiont that alters the host to survive. Liz called it a cootie and she decided that her cootie was a jerk because it also chose a mate for her. Her cootie chose the biggest grumpiest alien on the planet!
There was so much that I loved about this story. Raahosh made me want to cry sometimes and smile at others. He was so sincere. Liz was snarky and sometimes downright ornery which was highly entertaining! I loved how their story ended. I recommend reading this book or listening to it! I listened to it through Audible Escape and I own a copy of the ebook.
I love Ruby Dixon’s Ice-planet series. Her characters are diverse, lovable, and utterly addictive.
I’m so blown away of how much I’m enjoying this series. This is a new genre for me. I never expected to find this romantic alien love story to be so good and so HOT! I devoured this book. As I’m writing this review I’m super eager to start the next book. I’m super excited about the fact there is so many more to come. Truly this a great reading escape.
This is Liz and Raahosh story. This two couldn’t more alike. They both hunt, both are very stubborn. The only difference is where she can talk herself off he’s more reserve and quite. Liz tripped me out. She so outspoken and the things she says! She’s funny. But my heart broke for Raahosh with past and his current life. He means good but I could see why he’s a bit misunderstood. Yet He’s super sweet and caring. I truly loved him!
“My mate,” he murmurs. “My Liz. My everything.”
He breaks the tribe code, and takes her away. He can’t help it. He falls head over heals for her and it’s his way of taking of her. She spends most her time fighting what she feels for him. She blames the cuttie. But once she gives in, she realizes he’s home.
Their story is super sexy and very hot. But very HOT!! It’s super enjoyable that makes for a great escape! It’s not a long either which makes for a perfect treat!
I listened to the audible version of this book and I enjoyed it a lot. It’s a steamy paranormal romance that does not disappoint and leave readers wanting more. I’m excited to listen to the next book in this series.
