Lachlan Downy was a lover, not a fighter.
Okay, he wouldn’t lie, he was a fighter, too. But nobody had to know that. Especially not Memphis Tennessee Conner and her stuffy attitude when it came to cops and ‘men like him.’
Memphis knew cops. Her daddy was a cop. He was also the president of a motorcycle club. Needless to say, he’s about as alpha as they come, and she’s tired of overbearing … tired of overbearing men who think they know how to run her life better than she does.
So when Downy comes into her life running his smooth talking mouth, she realizes that she’ll have to stand strong against his pretty words and promises to give her what she needs.
Downy is determined, though.
He’s the hostage negotiator for KPD SWAT, and he’s never met a person, man or woman, he couldn’t talk around into his way of thinking.
Although, Memphis is about to show him just how much he miscalculated.
Seems Downy may not be as smooth as he thought, and Memphis is just the girl to show him the error of his ways.

i was not disappointed in the least when it came to finally getting Downey’s story.
every time Downey was brought in he always has a way of peeking my interest. he had a way of being a jerk, but one that could also make you laugh. and when he is faced with the fight that is Memphis he has meet his match. once these two come together it is evident that there is something that just can’t be denied between them.
I just love Memphis and her spunkiness. She does not take any crap from anyone not even Downy and his “late night activities”. Which turn out aren’t from him which makes this story even more funny because something happens during one of those late night activities. Go read the book to find out what it is.
These two together are just so cute especially since Downy first thinks he is too old for her but then is the one who can’t seem to stay away.
There are some good twist to this story that you just have to go read for yourself. Don’t worry you won’t be disappointed.
Downy, Downy..Downy. He always intrigued me. He has always been a little mean but has a sarcastic humor that just draws you in. In enters Memphis and Lachlan(Downy) becomes someone different. He still has his sense of humor that is a perfect match to Memphis’ wit. This was a fun, entertaining and humorous story. I loved it
Memphis Conner & her neighbor Lachlan Downy meet and sparks fly, but Memphis isn’t going to just lay down for the player who lives next down and keeps banging her bedroom wall. Wow, this book had me cracking up over and over again. This story had had everything that a great story should have plus you through in the quirky humor of Memphis and I was hooked! Love them Spurlock brothers too!!!
There was great chemistry between Lachlan and Memphis. I was not a huge fan of the lengths her dad went to “keep her safe.” I feel like she should have made a bigger deal about it and I expected for more attitude and sass to come from a biker brat. Overall, it was a cute story that is an easy read.
I wrote this review based on an advance reading copy that the publisher sent me.
Bang Switch by Lani Lynn Vale is the third book in her KPD Motorcycle Patrol series first which takes place further along the timeline than this series, HOWEVER, this series is off to a great start. I have come to expect sensational plot twists, the steamiest of sexy times, and the kind of insta-love that leaves you panting and I was NOT disappointed with Memphis and Lachlan’s story. Older male cop with younger female daughter of a cop already has the makings of a funny story. Add in a disastrous apartment wall incident with the banter between Lachlan’s friends and the relationship Memphis has with her over-protective father (and mother). There is always a ridiculous amount of danger coming at these characters on the Kilgore PD but these hunks handle it with ease and a little gratuitous violence and some swoony level chemistry. Enjoy!
This is about Downy and Memphis. Downy is a member of the Kilgore Police Department and Swat Team. He ends up meeting Memphis by way of saving her. Then these two realize they are neighbors. That is when things start to get interesting. Because during an interesting night something happens with the wall between Downy’s bedroom and Memphis’s bedroom. After that incident these two really start to become something. But the age difference is kindof holding Downy back. I absolutely loved watching these two get together. It was an enjoyable addition to this series. Lani Lynn Vale knows how to bring you in and keep you hooked with two great characters and a great storyline. Absolutely loved this one.
Bang Switch was always one of LLV’s funniest books and even reading it for the second time, it still has me laughing hysterically at one particular incident. Downy and Memphis have one of those relationships that have plenty of ups and downs, misunderstandings and lack of communication. Their story will make your heart race, laugh, cry and at times have your anxiety on high alert. Two hardheaded people who need each other to breathe find a home in each other’s arms. An action packed love story filled with passion, suspense and drama.
Definitely 5 Stars! I ready enjoy Lani Lynn Vale’s books! They’re amazing reads. Downy and Memphis are fantastic together!
Bang Switch had the much loved Lani Lynn Vale story-telling genius to it; the funny chapter titles, the stubborn main characters & the very well-liked close friends from previous books but it wasn’t my favorite of the SWAT series.
I liked Downy & Memphis as individuals more than I liked them as a couple. There was just something missing for me & it didn’t have anything to do with their age difference. They had some great spicy scenes together but weren’t quite a power couple like Luke & Reese or Nico & Georgia were for me.
Downy… He was downright sexy & alphalicious. The way he banged heads together for Memphis was kind of a turn-on & his relationship with his dog, Mocha, was pretty cute. Oh, & lest we forget… Bearded. Dragon. Ha ha. I was not a fan of him shutting her out but I was able to see things from his POV… for the most part. Him ignoring her at his house party killed me though.
Memphis… Admittedly, she wasn’t my favorite heroine of the series. (That title belongs to Reese.) I liked her but didn’t fall in love with her. I enjoyed her sense of humor (the woof-woof comment was AWESOME) & I admired her courage in being able to get through the tragic incident that happened to her when she was a child & how well she deals with it now. The biggest bugger for me though, was how she didn’t push Downey to find out what was really going on in his head. I understand he wasn’t forthcoming with answers but it was a bummer that she picked up & left with no notice what-so-ever. I think that kind of showed her age a bit.
The climax part of the story was entertaining. Although I sort of had a feeling who the bad guy was, I still enjoyed the action that led up to solving the mystery. Okay, it sounds weird, but the violence got my heart going & kept me flipping the pages to find out what would happen next. But the eyeball scene… eww.
The HEA was very sweet. Their “speeches” were definitely aww moments.
And OH MY GOSH… The sneak peek at Execution Style, featuring Miller & Mercy… My heart is already broken into a thousand pieces for her. I can tell she is going to be one damn strong heroine.
This is the third book in the KDP Swat series. They can be read as standalones. But this is a great series, so you will want to read them in order. This book had me laughing, especially when the wall fell down. I’m not going to say more than that about it, but you’ll be laughing too! I think Downy and Memphis may just be my new favorites. I love both of them.
Lachlan Downy is a member of the KDP Swat Team. He is 34 years old and is a negotiator. He also has a K-9 partner, Mocha, that is very stubborn. When he first meets Memphis, he is very attracted to her, but waits for her to come to him. He does tease her though.
“When you’re ready to get what you need, and not what you think you want, come see me.”
Once their shared bedroom wall came down, literally, there was no stopping either one of them.
Memphis Tennessee Conner is 20 years old. She grew up in the MC life, her daddy is the president and also a cop. She says she won’t ever be with a cop because of how protective they can be. And they are alphaholes too! Downy can get her temper going and get her turned on fast.
I just love these two together!
Of course the “life lessons” and thoughts at the beginning of each chapter had me laughing a lot!
“Alpha’s. Men who don’t listen to a word you say. Do what they want. And expect you to deal with it.” ~Fact of life
“Yes ma’am is always the answer, no matter what she asks you. Do you want to go to the store with me? You answer with, yes ma’am. Do you want to cook dinner? Again, the answer is yes ma’am. What ‘yes ma’am’ is not the answer to is ‘can I be in control?’ Because a woman doesn’t want a man that’s a little bitch. She wants a man that can show her the world. That can give her everything she needs with just one flick of his tongue, or thrust of his cock.” ~ Rules to live by according to Lachlan Downy
You really don’t want to miss out on this series!
I have said it before and I will say it again: Lani Lynn Vale is freaking amazing!!! I have no clue how her books get better, seeing as I have loved every single one, but they do.
In Bang Switch we finally get Downy’s story. Those who have read her ‘Free Birds’ series will know just how long we have been waiting, and for those that don’t, well it has been a long time.
Downy is a SWAT officer, a highlander lookalike with his red hair and beard. He also was chosen by Mocha his K-9 partner, although she is a bit stubborn. Downy and Mocha had me crying I laughed so hard. Eventually he meets Memphis, his neighbor, and the fun starts.
Memphis is just trying to work and live her life, without interference from her father. After a chance meeting while both are out with their dogs, Downy and Memphis keep getting thrown together constantly when they keep seeming to bump into each other.
Downy, thinking that Memphis is too young, tries to stay away but he never really had a chance.
Downy and Memphis were just plain HOT, with some drama, some serious sexy time, and lots of laughter, this book had it all. Of course we have all the returning characters to add that little something more to the story.
Downy and the guys of SWAT find themselves dealing with…….well I’m not gonna leave spoilers, you are going to have to read it. If I could give this more stars I would but 5 is the highest, I can’t wait for the next books in the series!
LOVE!
Downy and Memphis are great. Love the way his K9 takes control. It’s funny how he and the dog interact.
