Well this was something definitely different and very unexpected.
Wasn’t sure what I was looking for in this book, but what I got was a quirky rom com with some drama and suspense thrown in to put a different spin on things, and two totally weird and wonderful characters that kept me turning pages and wanting more.
Who knew just wanting to eat free cake could lead to all that!?
This book has lol moments and scenes.
But it also is suspense and drama all interwoven in this book.
I loved Haggerty.
Poor guy didn’t know what he was in for lol
Miranda was a bit,okay a lot impulsive.
Haggerty brings out her sassy side.
So it’s entertaining to see their interactions and conversations.
Bang Bang was an enjoyable read for me.
Ms. Brooks gives the reader a bit of everything in this book.
It’s original and written well.
When I saw the cover and blurb for Bang Bang by Belle Brooks, I was very intrigued. I am so glad I decided to read it. It was such a fun, surprising and unique kind of read. I can’t really describe what I was expecting when I started this book, but what I found was a story I just got lost in and had fun reading.
Miranda is minding her own business while trying to find a way to eat her favorite cake, at a wedding shop, where you need a fiancé. What is a girl to do? Well grab the next man that comes along and eat cake of course! Haggerty has no idea what to do with Miranda. He was strong, protective and very likable. Miranda is young, a bit naïve and somehow finds herself in a situation she never expected.
Bang Bang by Belle Brooks was such a fun and light read with a bit of suspense. I loved the banter between Haggerty and Miranda. I found myself devouring the story.

Happy reading!
Ahhh… I loved Bang Bang! I went into this story completely blind and had no idea where Belle Brooks would take us. I definitely was not disappointed! Bang Bang is such a fun, different kind of story. Lane and Miranda were awesome together. Their banter had me laughing out loud while trying to figure out what was going to happen next.
I love that Belle Brooks isn’t afraid to go outside of the box with her stories. She always leaves her readers wanting more!
Bang Bang wasn’t what I expected but was really great. Starts out funny but turns into a serious storyline. Belle adds some humor into it though. Miranda Sikes gets her into a lot of trouble over a piece of cake but lands her in love! Was it all worth that cake? You should find out!!! A great read!
This book started off with a bang and had me hooked right from the start. You will learn quickly that one decision really can change your whole life and this girl’s changed because of cake! Everyone needs to read this just to find out about that, fake fiancées, karate, a hot undercover cop and the sexy chemistry between these two characters. I adored Lane for his sweet side behind all his gruff and the tenderness and compassion he showed Miranda. He could protect me any day. I also want him to kiss me like he owns my lips. Miranda had a fire and naiveness that I appreciated, while it drove Lane crazy. This story is intense, dramatic and will have you holding your breath. It will also make you laugh and get you heated in more ways than one. Bang Bang kept me on my toes with the suspense while capturing my heart with the love and devotion.

When you just want cake amd your whole world changes! Bang Bang was a great read and man was it different, like a few catagories mixed together. Mr. Miyagi is indeed the man! Oh the comedic relief in between the action/drama sequences were perfectly done! I loved it!
First let me say that cover is ingenious. I love how it’s different and catches your eye instead of just a sexy man on the cover.
Ms. Brooks wrote a book I wasn’t expecting and couldn’t put down. It was a different and hilariously funny romance that had me captivated from that first page. There was suspense and mystery and lots of hot chemistry and funny banter. Miranda and Lane may have been ages apart and seemed like they didn’t mesh but boy did they. They were laugh out loud funny and sweet and sexy all wrapped into one. You will fall in love with the hilarity of the situation and won’t be able to let these characters go.
The only thing I can say bad is I was sad when it was over and wanted more of Bang Bang. Maybe Belle will give us a story with Brett. Just saying.
All the girl wanted was some free cake…
…then like dominoes, each reactions lead to another and another.
This book makes you laugh out loud…
…turn the pages, faster wondering what happen next to our cake loving girl
This story is laugh out loud funny!!!!! This storyline has it all, hilarity, suspense, brilliant banter between Miranda and Haggerty!!!! Bang Bang is the full Monty of rom/coms!!!!! Belle Brooks just keeps showing us her many talents!!!! She is an all-around phenomenally talented author!!!!
Bang Bang by Belle Brooks is the story of Miranda and Haggerty.
Miranda seems to find herself in different situation that become a comical and sometimes dangerous. When she finds herself in on situation she makes the best of it when she sees her favorite Bakery offering free cake sampling for engaged couples. So Miranda grabs a random guy Haggerty to pretend to be her fiance. When Haggerty makes a run for it he leaves behind his phone and Miranda runs after him. Then the Bang Bang of danger is heard.
This was a funny but yet action adventure romance.
Miranda is in the right place at the wrong time, and the banter between her and Haggerty is witty and entertaining. This is a good story which is fill with drama, action, twists, suspense, and is a humorous read. I look forward to reading more from this author and recommend for all readers.
Bang Bang, an undercover police sting and free cake? Yes please, count me in! I did enjoy this book, it didn’t take me long to get into and once I’d started it, I didn’t want to stop reading.
Poor Miranda, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her at times, she only wanted to try some free wedding cake and ended up changing her whole life. I had to remind myself of her age as there were points I found her behaviour a bit childish but that was understandable given the circumstances.
This was a fast paced read, for me it could have maybe slowed down a little, given a little more of the background surrounding the story. You know that saying to cut a long story short? Well, that is kind of how I feel with this, I can’t quite put my finger on it. That being said I did enjoy it and I couldn’t put it down until the end.
4 star Review Bang Bang by Belle Brooks
The blurb for Bang Bang was intriguing and as I love romantic suspense stories I jumped at the chance to read and review.
This book was not what I was expecting and I was hooked from the first to the last page. Bang Bang was full of drama, suspense and danger and had me on the edge of my seat as I read.
Miranda was a likeable though somewhat naive young woman who manages to get herself in to some difficult situations. She seemed particularly young although she is 20 but as the story progressed she came into her own which I was pleased to see.
There was humour along with quite a few twists and turns along with the suspense which added to my enjoyment. The chemistry between Miranda and Haggerty smoldered even though there weer times that I did not think that they would move forward.
This is my first read from Belle Brooks and if this book is anything to go by, it will not be my last.
I have read plenty of this author’s work and normally I love it. Unfortunately this one didn’t work for me. While the story is good and is an immediate hook something didn’t click for me. I found Miranda to be an immature and annoying person, who had no clue about the danger she was in, constantly finding a way to make stupid mistakes jeopardizing their safety. Don’t let me make the decision for you it’s got a bunch of inappropriate remarks that will have you chuckling and a pretty good story line.
This is my first book from Belle Brooks and I was intrigued by this story after reading the blurb. This did not disappoint and was so much more than I expected.
It was hilarious, steamy and I loved the drama. I was completely hooked from the very first word and devoured this story in a matter of hours!
Miranda just wanted some cake, only needed a man to pretend to be her fiancé. Naturally, you find the first random guy you can. Only this guy runs out, leaves his phone and this creates a major turn of events in Miranda’s life and one she never saw coming.
Miranda is my favorite type of heroine. She is SASSY, especially when it comes to Haggerty. Plus, the girl loves a great cake. Haggerty seems like a tough man, but inside he is super caring and protective and that definitely showed when it came to Miranda and keeping her safe. Their banter was perfect from the very beginning and the chemistry was great.
If you never read Belle Brooks before I highly recommend this book. It is different from other romances I’ve read, but doesn’t lack in steam, drama, suspense and laughs.
Well, this was not what I was expecting, but then I don’t even know what I was expecting. Belle Brooks is new to me. This book was fun, enjoyable and so easy to fall into. It held humor, heat, and even a little drama and suspense was thrown in there. Weave all that together and you get a fantastic easy-paced, funny, somewhat intense read that I could not put down. The characters were flawless, Miranda was one of a kind, at the start I was sure how I felt about her. But as the book progressed, she kind of grew on me, add in Lane and their weird, fun, and crazy relationship then… You get this masterpiece. I found myself laughing more than I probably should, in parts where it probably wasn’t supposed to be funny but that’s nothing new for me…
All in all this book had everything you would want in an easy, somewhat light-hearted rom-com and I will definitely be reading more of Belle’s book in the near future!
It was extremely well written, and the character progression and build up throughout the book was on point, the push and pull with the two main characters was highly addictive and fun to read. I think the author nailed this!
5 Stars!
I loved this book! I love when a book can take you through serious suspensful events and can twist it perfectly to have you laughing on the next page. I simply fell in love with Miranda’s unique and unforgettable journey that all started with her need for cake, but in her eyes it’s wasn’t just any cake.
Throughout the whole book Miranda really gives Lane a run for his money to not have his cover blown. Sometimes she’ll make you laugh, while other times she makes you want to pull your hair out. Lane and Miranda are total opposites of each other, but somehow it works and they’ll have you laughing your butt off. The only thing that fell short for me was the ending. So much happened and though it answers your questions…I NEEDED more details, other wise I really enjoyed it.
When told that this book was an enemy to lover book and with supense and humar it I wasn’t sure how I would like it. It was so funny and quirky!
When Miranda grabbed the first guy she saw to play her fake finace so she could raste the worlds most amazing cake, little did she know her whole world would change for the worse and better! As Miranda learns she’s gone and gotten herself right into the middle of danger she not only hates Haggerty but starts to like him.
I loved ther banter between the two and often found myself laughing at the two going back and forth. You have a little bit if everything in this book and can’t wait to see what’s next!
What a great read. It was very well written with a ton of humour that had me laughing out loud, a great storyline and some great interactions between all the characters.
I loved the relationship between Miranda and Haggerty right from the beginning. I loved how sassy Miranda was with Haggerty, I loved the fights they both put up and how resistant she was to go along with his plan but I loved how she never gave up. My heart really felt for Miranda and what she had to go through without much of a choice and I loved her growing connection to Haggerty all throughout the story. I found them great together and I loved how caring he was of her pretty much right from the start, I just loved Haggerty.
I did feel like the book fell a little flat after the start until just before half way, for me it was like I didn’t feel the book going anywhere but then the half way point came and boom! Things got real interesting. This whole book was definitely a page turner that I couldn’t put down even in the first half of the story. I was still interested and I loved the back and forth between Miranda and Haggerty in those parts, I was dying to find out what happens to them.
Though I would’ve loved to have more of an ending as I did feel it kind of just ended and some answers that I still had questions to, it was a wonderful read that I really loved and enjoyed
