Talk about right place wrong time. Poor Miranda only wanted free cake and she ended up with the ride of a lifetime. This book was quirky, fun, and packed with drama! It jumps right into it at the begining which is something I love! This was def. A different style for Belle but as usual she knocked it out of the park! Miranda and Haggerty draw you in and keep you glued! The plot was something I’ve actually never seen before too which I loved! If your already a fan of Belle you will not be disappointed and if your new to miss Belle Brook’s welcome to the one click author club!
Bang Bang is Belle Brooks at her very best.
She has the most wicked sense of humor that just translates so well onto the written page that you find yourself being kicked out of bed in the middle of the night after waking your husband for the third time because of the shenanigans of Miranda and Peter/ Rhett/ Lane.
But this book is so much more than laughter, it’s the underlying emotions and danger that make this book a complete and utter pleasure to read.
Bang Bang pulls you in from the beginning and never lets go. It is funny and suspenseful and will keep you intrigued as it winds down a unique road. It is well written as always and is unique. I highly recommend it! It has romance and humor which is so hard to do correctly, but Belle Brooks does exquisitely. Definitely pick this one up!
This book is so different from anything else Belle has ever written. The plot is so original and I loved the pace of the book. The writing was flawless and keeps you on your toes throughout the book. The characters are amazing. Lane is the perfect alpha male and I loved how complex he was yet Miranda brought him down a peg or ten. Miranda was funny, strong and fierce. I adore her. This was the perfect read just when I needed it most and I will always remember how it made my day just a little brighter. The talent this author has stands out and you should pick up this book and enjoy the journey it takes you on. Oh and have some cake on hand you’ll need it.
A series of unfortunate events leads to insta-love in extraordinary circumstances. Non stop action, cute and flirty read.
Miranda and Lane come from different walks of life but are made for one another. Lane does everything he can to keep Miranda safe and Miranda does everything to go against him.
Fun read.
I’m struggling, the story was fun but I didn’t like her. They just didn’t connect for me, maybe she was too immature. I was disappointed with the ending, it felt like after all that it was suddenly over.
Bang Bang, my first Belle brooks novel was a sweet romance that was funny, with non stop action and some suspense and violence added to the mix. The main characters Lane and Miranda had some amusing back and forth banter that really had me amused. I really loved Lane. I loved how he was constantly looking out for Miranda however to be honest Miranda annoyed me throughout the entire novel. Yet as annoying as she was she and Lane worked well as a couple.
I enjoyed the story. It was fast paced and the suspense really did have me hook even though I wanted to shake some sense into Miranda at times.
Bang Bang was a charming unusual story and I would recommend it to all lovers of romantic suspense.
This book stretches Belle Brooks’s writer wings. We already know she can write under a huge umbrella of things, this one is one of the most unique books under said umbrella. It has humor and suspense, characterization that is brilliant, and cake. Basically it’s an all you can want book.
I enjoy Miranda’s evolution and unpacking the secrets of Lane one chapter at a time. I was a little wary going into it, but I should know better by now not to doubt the genuis that is this author.
It’s not a book I usually would have gone for, but I’m glad I took the chance to read it.
This was my first Belle Brooks’s book, and won’t be my last. This Romantic Comedy is also a fun Romantic Suspense. The storyline is original, suspenseful, action packed, intriguing, and hilarious. I enjoyed my reading, and I’m looking forward for more books from this author.
I didn’t know where to go with this book, is it Romantic Suspense? A RomCom? It’s honestly both and blended well! Miranda makes a fateful decision the day she grabs a strangers arm and drags him into a bakery just so she can eat some cake for free. She just wanted the stranger to pretend to be her fiancé for a little while and enjoy the cake with her. She definitely grabbed the wrong stranger and now her life’s in peril. She just dragged herself into a federal undercover investigation of a sex trafficking ring. Now she’s Sassy, Haggerty’s fiancée who just returned from an overseas trip. The story is in turn funny and downright scary. You pray that Miranda and Lane end up together, but you’re praying more that they actually survive! Are you wondering who Lane is when you know that Haggerty is the cops name? You’ll have to read the book yourself to find out. Some of my favorite scenes was when Miranda claimed to know karate. Mr. Miyagi to the rescue, lmao!!
Belle Brooks is a wonder. She’s managed to make a storyline involving sex traffickers and an undercover investigation laugh out loud funny. The characters are great, but more importantly the story keeps you involved from beginning to end.
*** I was given an ARC of this story and this is my honest and voluntary review
Amazing intense addicting emotional beautiful love story of Lane and Miranda
need more of these too and cake too
I really enjoyed reading this book. Each book by this author has a way of dragging me in and hooking me. This one was was a page turner where I just couldn’t put it down.
“Am I going to die all because of a misplaced phone and free cake?”
Now this would be something that would happen to me lol A true case of the wrong place wrong time. In this case though maybe it’s right place right time. You’d have to ask Miranda that wink wink nudge nudge
This story is now one of my favorites of Brooks. It’s decently paced and shows a huge development of character for our leading lady Miranda. It comes across as a very serious book but you actually end up laughing more than you should. Miranda’s inner monologue will keep you chuckling for the duration of the story. Yet there’s enough suspense and drama to keep you on your toes.
Peter aka Haggarty aka Rhett aka Lane I mean who is this man of many identities lol each chapter seems to unfold another piece of this man. And his relationship with Miranda is something to watch!! I absolutely got a kick out of them navigating their new relationship and seeing them find something that works for them.
It was such a well written evolving story that’s worth the read!!!
This was such an awesome read. Miranda had me in stitches. The intense heat between her and Lane is undeniable. This story does deal with a serious subject but is done so masterfully. Fate has a way of bringing two people together and she sure made this meeting an adventure. Ms. Brooks truly captivates you with each book she writes. For as long as she writes books, I’ll be reading them. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
Bang Bang, is a romantic comedy with action and suspense.
I liked the storyline and it was well written.
I thought Miranda was a bit naive and juvenile, but loveable. I also thought the chemistry between Miranda and Haggerty was lacking.
Bang Bang by Belle Brooks
Bang Bang is a Rom Com with a side of suspense, mystery and danger.
Miranda is a 20year old naive University student that after a trying day in the city finds herself hungry. So what’s a girl to do when she sees a sign in her favorite cake shop advertising free wedding cake samples to couples? Grab the first guy she sees and pull him into the store and try to convince him to play along only things don’t go as she planned. Now she’s running down the street barefoot dodging bullets all because she wanted to return his dropped cell phone.
Haggerty, Aka Lane a police detective who is deep undercover gets pulled into a bakery by a flighty, young woman wanting him to pretend to be her fiance to get free cake! When he gets a call sending him running out of the store dropping his phone on the way out. Now his job is about to get a lot more complicated when the girl from the cake shop stumbles into his undercover mission and now reluctantly becomes part of the job.
The banter between Miranda, Haggerty and his partner Brett are hilarious. I loved the story I only wish there was an epilogue letting us know about their life after the case.

Bang Bang had all the feels!! Fast paced read and made you wanting more. I would definitely suggest this awesome read to anyone!!
3.5 stars
Hilarity, nonstop action and adorable romance Bang Bang is a super fun ride that will keep you laughing. Right from the start this book is pretty laugh out loud funny. Miranda is quirky, maybe a bit crazy and constantly seeming to get herself in trouble. Lane on the other hand issue serious under cover detective and while he may be her polar opposite he sure knows how to roll with the punches when it comes to her.
There’s a great mix of light hearted antics balanced with the more serious in their story. And while it’s definitely fun and cute there were some things that just fell a little short for me. Miranda at times was almost too much. Too stubborn, too immature and things that would have come across as humorous came across more like a child throwing a tantrum. It made it difficult for me to really feel these two as a couple most of the time.
This is a thoroughly entertaining rom com with a good helping of suspense. It is very well written with plenty of pace and action throughout.
The characters have depth and though the heroine is larger than life at times they are all believable. The premise is original, and in equal measures funny and gripping.
There are some heart stopping moments as well as plenty of humour. If you want to escape from the humdrum for a while, look no further than this engaging story. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author
Miranda, how can I describe her without being mean, mmmmmm bumbling idiot, no, err blonde whatever, maybe but what ever she is we all know that one friend who acts just like her. No street smarts, acts as though she knows it all, doesn’t listen to authority and only when it really hits the fan does she stop and think about her actions. Yep I have that friend. She wants free cake and grabs the first man that comes along but then it really does not the fan between dead bodies, lives being threatened and being on the run but it doesn’t go to well for the undercover reactive Haggerty/Lane/Rhett either. I just wanted to shake her and tell “listen to him you airhead” but as it’s a book I couldn’t. She didn’t endear herself to me either with her I know Mr Miagi meets karate kid self defence but she was laugh a limit especially with the one liners she gave to Lane (undercover cop) and the in her mind commentary we got every so often. Will they survive their ordeal?, I can’t tell you which means you need to read the book. Will she finally be able to use her Mr Miagi moves? Who knows. A great book from the start to finish. I would of liked a little more to see what happens to the two main characters in an epilogue of sorts as inquiring minds want to know.
