From the USA Today and Internationally bestselling author of The Club Series, Lauren Rowe, comes a sexy standalone romantic comedy novel unlike anything you have ever read before: Ball Peen Hammer.“Keane Morgan wouldn’t return any of my calls or texts, and I was pissed as hell about it. I didn’t want to drive from Seattle to L.A. with the guy any more than he wanted to drive with me, but I had no … drive with me, but I had no frickin’ choice in the matter–at least, not if I wanted to use his brother Dax’s coveted parking spot at UCLA.
Okay, so it turned out Keane was objectively gorgeous, and, fine, pretty funny, too. But did he have to be so damned in love with himself? I mean, jeez, the cocky way he flashed those dimples was just so orchestrated. And, honestly, what kind of guy uses the phrase “baby doll” with a straight face? Oh, that’s right: the kind of guy who’s a male stripper.
Yup, the cocky jerk turned out to be Seattle’s answer to Magic Mike, a stripper known as “Ball Peen Hammer”–which meant Keane Morgan was emphatically not the kind of guy I’d ever fall for.
Not. At. All.
No freakin’ way.
Well, until Keane convinced me to fall for him, that is.
Which I did.
Hard.”
Indulge in the enticing words of this phenomenal author, as she invites you into a world filled with passion, lust, and forbidden desires. One of the sexiest novels ever written, while still maintaining an enormous amount of wit and imagination. If you thought you would never be able to get into romance novels, it’s time to think again.
NOTE:
Ball Peen Hammer is a full-length, standalone sexy romantic comedy about Keane Morgan (one of four Morgan brothers introduced in The Club Series) and Maddy Milliken (the little sister of Hannah Banana Montana Milliken).
Although Keane and Maddy’s love story is set in the universe of The Club Series, it is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger and no prior reading required. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

So first thing is first when I started this book I had to admit the language threw me off at first Keane talks so weird and so does Zander but once you get used to how they speak it’s fine and you really do need to be okay with that because he talks like it all the way through and Maddy even picks up on some of his lingo. As I say it throws you off but as soon as you get used to it, it’s all good.
Keane, he was hilarious, and very much a charmer. You could tell his stripper persona to how he was normal and I was glad that we could have that distinction. I loved some of the shit he said it was hilarious and I loved his relationship with Zander. That in itself is just hilarious.
Maddy, I love her the texts she sent to Keane first off was hilarious. I also loved how shy she can become and yet with Keane she managed to feel so comfortable around him and that was nice. She was an interesting character I loved her whole thing of she needed an emotional as well as a physical connection to have sex with someone and I loved it. I also loved that she was super smart and was a video and marketing expert.
I loved Maddy and Hannah’s relationship I love how much Hannah cares for her sister and is just willing to do what it takes to protect her.
I loved the Morgan family and I think this book just made me love Ryan all that more. But I think him and Keane are neck and neck for being my favourite Morgan Brother. I loved the bond between the family.
These two were giving me the feels, they literally made my heart melt, I loved the connection that Maddy and Keane have. I had to admit I think I could probably pinpoint in the book when they both started to fall in love with each other without knowing it. I loved their connection, the banter and I really like for the first few days we have concrete of them building their relationship as they are on a road trip and it was amazing.
Keane’s little crisis was amusing when he finally realised he loved Maddy well without knowing he’d said it until he spoke to his mum. I also loved the ending of the book the way he flew down to L.A. to declare his love and the videos it was so cute and my heart melted.
I had to admit when Keane and Maddy had their little separation it broke my heart, they were perfect I was like no don’t do this to each other.
Zander is his own kind of special I love that from the moment he laid eyes on Maddy he basically knew that Keane and Maddy were falling for each other and I really like that he tried to make Keane see sense and I love that. Best friend ever.
I fell in love with this story and I fell in love with Keane and Maddy and I cannot wait to read more from this author.
Ball Peen Hammer is the next book by Lauren Rowe and it takes place in same atmosphere as her wildly popular The Club series! I was holding my breath for this one as I fell in love with that series and couldn’t wait to read this! This is about Keane Morgan and Maddy Milliken.
Maddy is moving to LA from Seattle, to go to UCLA film school. Her thing is documentaries and has won awards for her work. Hannah, Maddy’s sister is concerned about her travelling alone and when she finds out her best friend’s brother, Keane, is expected to visit LA, she sets them up to travel together.
Keane is Seattle’s version of Magic Mike and is loving life! He loves his job and is quite cocky. Pun totally intended! Women literally throw themselves at him. His stage name is Ball Peen Hammer and he is definitely not someone Maddy would ever fall for. That’s a relief since she will be spending three days in the car with him.
But it turns out, Keane is all kinds of gorgeousness wrapped around an insanely hilarious mind! Keane has been told that Maddy is “off-limits” but that doesn’t stop him from charming Maddy into wanting him. He’s just so into himself and he’s flabbergasted when all his usual stripper moves don’t seem to have his desired effect on Maddy.
Little does he realize, Maddy is loving all the attention Keane is giving her. And when they start filming advice shorts by Ball Peen Hammer, things begin to heat up. Ok, maybe he’s not all that bad after all….
This was a super fun journey! I absolutely loved Keane. Gosh he had me cracking up! And his views about being a happy lad are truly funny! I loved the way he and Maddy bantered back and forth. I knew there would be some sort of angsty situation and of course it was heart-breaking when it occurred. I had hopes that Keane would eventually pull it all together. I was happy the way the ending unfolded.
I opted to listen to the audiobook and I was drawn in by the narrators! John Lane is great, but Lauren herself narrates and she is phenomenal!! She has such a knack for reading and her enthusiasm is infectious! You can hear it in her voice! Her version of Keane was spot on how I viewed him too! I loved listening to The Club books and it was a no-brainer that I would listen to this book too!
I adored this book! And although I highly recommend you read The Club series (seven books), they are not required to enjoy this book. This is a standalone book with an ending you will be happy with! The Morgan family has an unique family dynamic! I loved Mama Morgan! When I was reading this book, I didn’t even realize how much I missed the Morgan’s and all their friends! I know they will give us a bunch of wildly entertaining books!!
Omg I loved Peen, he is a hilarious, loveable, loud, fun and quirky guy. Maddy is quiet and reserved, which is quite the opposite of Keane. Even though they are complete opposites they seem to be perfect for each other and bring out the best qualities in one another as well. It also helps that the chemistry between them was smoking hot. Loved this book, highly recommended
Ball Peen Hammer was unlike anything I ever expected. Perhaps that’s due to the main character, Keane Morgan, aka Ball Peen Hammer. BPH took some time to grow on me… he’s so cocky and arrogant. It’s like he knew God molded him from desires every form. He loved it… loved his second-choice career as a male stripper. He loves being what everyone woman fanaticizes about. He knows he’s what they fanaticize about. So, like I said, it took a while for Keane to grow on me but he did. You can’t help but like him. He loves with all his heart, he’s so passionate and caring. He was surprisingly sweet and so gentle and caring.
Like I said above, Keane wasn’t my thing right off the bat but Maddy was. I had a serious girl crush on her. She wore her heart on her sleeve. The car ride with these two was the turning point for all three of us. I found myself, all of a sudden, totally sweet on Keane. It wasn’t his charming good looks or his sexual prowess, oh no, it was the way he falls so hard for Maddy that he doesn’t even notice he’s on the ground! He turns into this guy who gives all of him and tries incredibly hard to please Maddy. He’s open and honest. Again, I was truly shocked that I ended up liking him! There’s so much to this story though than just this hilarious car ride and sexual tension. There’re deep stories hiding behind tough exteriors. There is so much more than what meets the eyes here. The Morgan family and friends are a complete hoot! I haven’t read or listened to the other books in this series, and while I met the character from the story, it’s totally fine to read without reading the other books.
The narrators, Lauren Rowe and John Lane, were a great mix. I’ve never listened to an author narrate their own book before so I was thoroughly pleased when I enjoyed it. Miss Rowe was seriously upbeat and completely giddy through most of the story. The names all these characters called each other had me laughing or fondly rolling my eyes. Mr. Lane has a serious surfer dude sound. Considering I’m on the East Coast, I found the sound incredibly annoying. However, as the book proceeded, Mr. Lane either changed his talk or I changed my mind… or it could be the fact that I was finally digging the character… I’m not sure but either way, at the end, I enjoyed the heck outta this fun and light story! I’m looking forward to hearing more about these people.
I loved it! This is the third book in the Morgan Brothers, but this story can be listened as a standalone. This story was hilarious, sweet, and sexy. I loved the main characters, Keane and Maddy. I liked their road trip and their love story. The other characters were also great and so supportive. Now, I can’t wait for Zander’s story, Mister Bodyguard. The narration was really well done. I enjoyed my listening.
Never in my wildest dreams would I think this phrase would ever come out of my mouth, but here it is: I’m totally IN LOVE with a blue-haired male stripper named Ball Peen Hammer!
You guys, this book was absolutely fantastic! Lauren Rowe has been on my TBR for a while now and I must admit after reading this book I’m upset with myself for not getting to her books sooner. I ABSOLUTELY have to go back and read the Club series now and find out more about these sexy Morgan brothers and the Faraday brothers…
So, getting back to my hunky stripper. Ah, Keane. Truly a one of a kind individual. At first, you might not like him as much as you’ll want to. Some of the things he says and thinks will scream cocky and narcissistic, which to a point, he totally is. But don’t roll your eyes just yet. Keep reading. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by just how amazing he really is.
Maddy is a perfect compliment to him in this book. The two of them are different, yet so much the same that they easily fall into an amazing friendship along their adventure together. They both open up in ways to each other that they can’t with the other people in their lives.
Of course, this is a romance genre book, so things can never be quite that easy.
I truly adore this book. Easily one of my favorite ones I’ve read this year. It will take you through all the feels but in the end, the journey is worth it. Five-star, one-click worthy in my eyes. Pick this one up ASAP.
Audiobook Review:
Oh My Golly Gosh! Ball Peen Hammer by Lauren Rowe is a frolicsome romantic comedy chock-fulled with saccharine. Keane Morgan and Madelyn Milliken are super adorable together and you will find yourself falling in love with them together. I love the witty banter & flirtatious between Maddie and Keane in this sweet-tempered slapstick. Supporting character’s enumerate to the narrative with their uproarious antics. Heaps of elements convey a narative that resembles personage. I just wish their was an epilogue.
Narrators John Lane and Lauren Rowe conveyed a stellar performance. Each characteris given a distinct voice Tone & pace are smooth and just right. These narrators took an already excellent story to the next level, breathing life into characters and transporting listeners to other stomping grounds. A re-listen is in the cards with this one.
Ahhh!!!! Lauren Rowe is my favorite person. I didn’t know what the hell I was getting myself into when I started reading this book, but damn if my mind wasn’t blown. I laughed so much while reading this book. I was so addicted to the crazy things that would come out of Keane’s mouth. I wanted to be best friends with him because he was just so awesome.
Keane was unlike any character I’v ever read. He was really down to earth, cocky in a funny non-asshole way, and very hyper. He kept it real with Maddy and was just fun to be around. Keane is not what you would expect a male stripper to be. So much so that it surprised Maddy and built this wonderful chemistry between them. Their conversations were deep and real. It made a two day drive with them together feel like these two had known each other for a long time. The attraction slowly built between them until neither one could deny how much they wanted the other. I really loved their relationship and I was on the edge of my seat waiting for them to get together. I also really love Zander and Keane’s whole family. I am beyond excited to read about his other siblings.
Ball Peen Hammer took me by surprise. This is definitely a stripper you will want to get to know. I loved Keane so much. This book is wildly hilarious, carefree, and so completely awesome. I could read this book all over again.
T was hot and funny
I wanted to dislike Keane. He was such a frat bro and seemingly immature. But D@mn it, he was so charming, I really couldn’t! It was all a front because he was so disconsolate from losing baseball. Maddy gave him love, direction and a future. Love the Morgan Mafia!!
I loved this book and I’m still giggling about the characters in this book! Memorable book and a must read!
First book I’ve read by this author. Holy ball peens balls!! WHAT A GREAT BOOK!! I started reading this book and have literally not stopped, no refreshment, no bathroom breaks and no comfort breaks of any kind.
Funny, charming, witty and really brilliantly written. Loved the characters.
My eyes are peeled for more ( hopefully in this series, because the family is just bonkers but lovable ) from this author.
Like a highway unfurling beneath headlights, Keane is revealed to Maddy on a road trip from Seattle to LA. She’s seemingly untouchable, he appears to be as shallow as his nickname implies. These two are so much more, Maddy is brilliant and beautiful and sensitive; Keane is “clever and bright and witty and perceptive”. They are so good together I need “verbal duct tape for my heart”. Gah! I loved these two and I loved this book. And all the little Keaneisms were amazing and funny and inspiring and inventive! Completely smitten by Lauren Rowe.
The dialogue between the two people was funny. Hard to read there were way too many characters to keep the story straight. Too many conversations with all the characters made it confusing took me a long time to finish reading it.
