From the USA Today and Internationally bestselling author of The Club Series, Lauren Rowe, comes a sexy standalone romantic comedy novel unlike anything you have ever read before: Ball Peen Hammer.“Keane Morgan wouldn’t return any of my calls or texts, and I was pissed as hell about it. I didn’t want to drive from Seattle to L.A. with the guy any more than he wanted to drive with me, but I had no … drive with me, but I had no frickin’ choice in the matter–at least, not if I wanted to use his brother Dax’s coveted parking spot at UCLA.
Okay, so it turned out Keane was objectively gorgeous, and, fine, pretty funny, too. But did he have to be so damned in love with himself? I mean, jeez, the cocky way he flashed those dimples was just so orchestrated. And, honestly, what kind of guy uses the phrase “baby doll” with a straight face? Oh, that’s right: the kind of guy who’s a male stripper.
Yup, the cocky jerk turned out to be Seattle’s answer to Magic Mike, a stripper known as “Ball Peen Hammer”–which meant Keane Morgan was emphatically not the kind of guy I’d ever fall for.
Not. At. All.
No freakin’ way.
Well, until Keane convinced me to fall for him, that is.
Which I did.
Hard.”
Indulge in the enticing words of this phenomenal author, as she invites you into a world filled with passion, lust, and forbidden desires. One of the sexiest novels ever written, while still maintaining an enormous amount of wit and imagination. If you thought you would never be able to get into romance novels, it’s time to think again.
NOTE:
Ball Peen Hammer is a full-length, standalone sexy romantic comedy about Keane Morgan (one of four Morgan brothers introduced in The Club Series) and Maddy Milliken (the little sister of Hannah Banana Montana Milliken).
Although Keane and Maddy’s love story is set in the universe of The Club Series, it is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger and no prior reading required. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Over the Top hilarious banter! You will not find another book like Ball Peen Hammer & you will wholeheartedly will have huge regrets if you don’t read it. This is one of those book you will want to read again and again! I would categorize this book as ‘the best book of all time, it’s a classic!!!
This was my first book by Lauren Rowe, and I now can’t wait to read more. I loved the humor, the banter, and the chemistry. Maddy was a great heroine and Keane started out as a very self centered, juvenile, man whore but developed and grew throughout the story. I was drawn in by the humor and kept interested with really good writing and an interesting storyline!!
Definitely worth listening to the audiobook with the great narration!!
Jeez where to start with Ball Peen Hammer??!! This is the highly anticipated standalone by Lauren Rowe following on from her Club series and Josh n Kat series, featuring another member of the Morgan clan, Keane Morgan aka Ball Peen Hammer, stripper extraordinaire!! Our girl in this book is Maddy Milliken, a geeky girl next door type into videoing documentaries, You Tube blogs, etc., looking to start over living in a new city and going to UCLA to study, ends up taking BPH with her on a road trip for company as a favour to his brother, Dax. Now I’m going to go out on s limb here and say I didn’t like BPH to start with!!! Yes he may look like a godlike Adonis, but his attitude left a lot to be desired – in the words of Maddy, what a pig!!! But the more I read and the more time they spent together on this road trip the more I liked him!! I had quite a roller coaster of emotions going whilst reading this, from feeling skivved out and wanting to slap BPH for being such a cocky ass, to laughing out loud at some of the things and situations Maddy and BPH found themselves in, to, by the end, loving Keane with such a mega intensity I didn’t think it would be possible. Only Lauren, with her epic and unique language and storytelling skills could make me do a complete 360 by the end of the book. A fabulous read yet again by Lauren, everything she writes is just golden. Can’t wait to read more from the Morgan clan.
I originally read the ebook of this back in 2017. Since I’ve been binging on the Morgans with Audible, I figured I’d give Keane a listen since I loved him already. Keane, or Peen, and Maddy are adorable. He’s in constant denial that he finds her attractive (and isn’t just trying to get her attention because she isn’t caving to his charms). And Maddy figures since she can talk to him, she must not be that into him. Yeah, both of them are kind of in denial. Keane is a lot more than just a man slut and stripper. Maddy is more than the film nerd she thinks of herself as. Their trip to LA and their time together and apart is a journey of more than miles. And of course we get to see Zander and the rest of the Morgan Mafia. Love this family.
Loved this first book in the Morgan Family series. Keane is a heart stealer. In the beginning I admit to not being sure about Keane, because he is completely unique, and I’ve never met a character like him, but he soon won me over, and I fell hard. I’ve now read and listened to Ball Peen Hammer multiple times, and each time is just as great as the first time.
This is hands down one of the books I’ve ready this year as far as rom-com goes. Keane is the most outlandish character I’ve come across is way too long. Maddy oh she is just as funny playing up what Peen does best. While it times it was sad the humor far outweighs it.
This book is totally entertaining, original and downright hilarious. I .was very surprised by the characters development. Great book!
The title made me think it could be bad but I really liked this book. Way more than I thought!
Aaaaannnd here is another great book from Lauren Rowe. I already read it twice. But here is the thing I read it the day it was released and I didn’t have a blog back then and after I did created the blog, I wanted to write a review and I re-read it so that I can write a better review when it is all fresh in my mind. But unfortunately it didn’t work because it has been 2 weeks since my second read and I didn’t know how to write a review that will make justice for the book, I am still not sure if I can but here I go.
‘Ball Peen Hammer’ was one of the cutest books I ever read. It is funny, sweet and sexy Our hero is Keane, who is Kat – aka The Party Girl with a Hyphen’s (If this name does not mean anything to you, you are missing a lot. I recommend you to READ ‘The Club’ series ASAP) brother and our heroine is Maddy, who is Hannah Banana Montana Milliken’s (Kat’s friend) sister. Our story starts when Dax, Keane’s brother, volunteer Keane as a travel buddy/babysitter for Maddy’s move from Seattle to LA. OMG! What a road trip that is. The slang and banter between Maddy and Keane is hilarious. This books needs to come with caution such as ‘Do not read in public unless you can control laughing out loud because people around you can give you weird looks.’ How do I know, it happened to me. I was reading on my way home and laughing really hard because in some parts I couldn’t stop myself and I do believe some people thought I was crazy Ohhh and banter between Keane and Maddy is not the only thing that will make you laugh, let’s not forget about Keane’s best friend/roommate aka wifey Zander, their conversations will make you cry from laughter.
Maddy is sweet, shy and sassy. She is moving from Seattle to LA in order to pursue a degree in UCLA. She is also a social media wizard and her skills will be great help to Keane. Keane is funny, sexy and little lost. He is one of the best strippers in Seattle. And from the start of their road trip you can feel the sexual chemistry between them. Being stuck in a car together, they get to know each other and share a part of their personalities that are foreign to others around them.
There are some parts to their story about their pasts that will make you sad but overall the story was hilarious and you can easily read it in one sitting. It was another great book from Lauren Rowe that I really enjoyed reading. I am looking forward to read more from her and hopefully it will be about one of the Morgan’s, Reed or Zander.
Would I recommend this book: Yes
Would I re-read this book: Already did
Would I read future books by this author: Definitely
I went into this story with some pretty high expectations. I was prepared to laugh and laugh and laugh until my belly hurt… and that’s exactly what I got! Keane Morgan is ridonkulous!! His ways, his attitude, his wit, his charm, his looks, his everything made me giggle, snort and swoon.
Maddie is starting over in a new city. Moving in with her sister is going to help her accomplish all of her goals. She just has to survive the road trip with Keane to get there. As hilarious as Keane was, I loved how, for the most part, Maddie was able to keep up with his antics. They were able to click so fast (thanks to the author for that) and there was barely any wasted moments.
The romance was a slow build but I think it was better for it. The author did a wonderful job of developing the characters and their connection to each other. I do wish more time was spent on these two as a couple, but I can’t always get what I want. There were times that the hilarity overshadowed what was being created, but I was so busy chuckling that all was forgiven.
Ball Peen Hammer is a hysterically funny romance featuring a beautiful, oblivious girl and a gorgeous, arrogant, class clown of a boy. He’s hilarious, she’s adorbsicles. He’s not her type. She’s not his. Or so they think. One shared road trip later… If you love to laugh really hard (and a lot) while falling in love with amazing characters – can I be an honorary member of the Morgan family? – this book… no this series… is for you!
This story was so good and so fun! I’m just sad I didn’t dive on the deep end earlier!
Keane and Maddie were so good together! They balanced each other so well! She helped him see his full potential and he helped her step outside her shy bubble some more!
This was my first foray into the author/narrator Lauren and John Lane.
It will not be my last on any of them!
What a fun book! Now I normally can’t stand books about emotionally stunted man-whores, but stripper Keane Morgan is so darn charming & transparent, it’s hard to not like him. He & good girl Maddy Milliken set out on a road trip that starts somewhat antagonistic, but slow burns its way into a delightful friendship & complicated steamy relationship. I got a kick out of their hilarious banter, the good natured insults within the Morgan family & the bromance with best bud Zander. I’ve loved all the Morgan brother books so much and John Lane & Lauren Rowe do an exceptional job bringing these stories & characters to life in the audiobooks. Often raunchy, but so full of heart, this has become one of my favorite book series.
A hilariously adorbsickle! Almost all the nicknames, metaphors, and sometimes cheesiness of Peen and Maddie; This was a cute, fun, and entertaining story. I highly enjoyed it!
I wanted more from this. But I did find myself laughing out loud a couple of times. This review is a couple years old and in certain need of an edit. A reread is due.
5 Hammer Stars!
Lauren Rowe has done it once again. Ball Peen Hammer will leave you holding your side from laughing so hard, but also leave you feeling the love that Keane and Maddy have for one another. The interaction between Keane, Zander and his family is absolutely amazing and it reminds me so much of my own. I absolutely love Lauren Rowe’s Club series, but Keane the Peen may have just stolen my heart! Do yourself a favor and pick this book up today so you can enjoy the road trip between Keane and Maddy and fall in love with them as they fall in love with each other along the way.

This is the one I thought I’d like least. Then it turned out to be my favorite of the whole series!!
Ball Peen Hammer is an easy read, a Good Rom Com that will give you plenty giggles.
I have to admit when I first started reading I found it over the top funny, the things keane Morgan says is like when someone is trying to over impress someone and it just isn’t funny, it’s more annoying but I grew to except that this was just Keane, he says the most stupid and outrageous things including his over the top funny quotes.
He calls himself a handsome and happy lad among other self complimenting words and he pops his dazzling smile and dimple when the mood fits, which is often for the ladies.
I grew to like this annoying boy called Keane Morgan, the stripper otherwise known as Ball Peen Hammer.
Maddy and Keane meet when arrangements are made by their siblings to travel together from Seattle to L.A.
Maddy is due to move in with her sister traveling across the state, Maddy’s sister Hannah who is in LA has a neighbor who’s brother Keane is also going to be making a trip to visit and audition for some jobs. Hannah gives Maddy Keane’s details to make travel arrangements so she isn’t making the long trip alone.
Maddy and keane don’t hit it off straight away, on top of Keane ignoring Maddy Milliken’s messages for days thinking she’s some stalker then Keane’s best friends sending Maddy Milliken a dick pic he also turns out to be the biggest self-proclaimed man-whore she has ever met, Keane claims no woman can resist him.
Two days of traveling though have them hitting it off more like best friends, Keane can’t get over Maddy being able to resist his charms though and is surprised she not once tries it on with him and he tries every trick in his book, he’s never been friend-zoned, Maddy believes in chemistry and Keane just doesn’t give it to her, well not at first anyway. It turns out Maddy likes Kean more than the ball Peen Hammer side of him he puts out.
Ball peen hammer is a funny story with a heartwarming hea and an over the top charismatic hot funny guy, a good light read to settle down with and you get a good fix of all that is Keane Morgan
I enjoyed Book 3 in Lauren Rowe’s Morgan Brother series. This was nice to see Keane’s story represented.
I can totally understand why everyone’s head over heels for the Morgan Brothers ‘cuz I am all the same 🙂 I’ve practically binge read this series by Lauren Rowe and I can’t get enough! This one is the first but the way I’ve read it (Captain, Hero, BPH), you would understand more in the time frame the books happened and it made me appreciate Keane so much more. And truly, I haven’t read a character like Keane in such a long time and it’s honestly a breath of fresh air.
Maddy is on the verge of moving to LA to go to college and also being closer to her sister but as a favor to her and Dax, Keane will be alongside her on the drive aka road trip to LA. Nothing is going as planned and they get off on the wrong foot but Keane is on a league of his own and no matter what happens she just can’t seem to stay mad at him. The longer they spend time together, the more they start to bond. Even though Maddy is getting attached, she still has her walls up but slowly they are being teared down. But although Keane is no one-woman man, he can’t seem to stay away from Maddy. Will they get a chance together?…
I’ll always give an honest review and for me this is book I liked reading but didn’t love. I think what did it for me was the repetitive speech which was funny….. but I didn’t want to read it on just about every page. There were moments when I really loved this book and then others when I didn’t. That’s my opinion and this book was recommended by many, so I know I’m in the minority here.
I loved the characters, the story was as unique as Keane himself.
