Fast-paced with quick-witted dialogues, Baiting Him is not only uber sweet and tots sexy, but delightfully funny!
Chrissie owns The Sweet Spot, a successful bakery that leaves her little time to do anything else besides bake. Gaston, too, is successful owning Twilight, a night club as well as two bars. When Chrissie is out with her bestfriend celebrating her pending nuptials–bachelorette party style–she has an unforgettable meet-cute with none other than Gaston. But just as soon as they start to connect, Chrissie leaves him wanting more. Unknowingly baiting him.
Gaston is persistent, solidifying his place into Chrissie’s life quickly. Protective, slightly possessive, exhibiting the alpha trait in a subtle way because hello, he is sweetness personified. While Chrissie is conscientious, head strong, sharp-tongued, and vulnerable at times due to familial problems.
Aurora Rose Reynolds is known for her #Boom. Her Until series. The Mayson men. But time after time she shows she is versatile. She continues to deliver her trademark writing style all while constantly and consistently bringing something new to readers. I think it’s safe to say the boom exists outside the Mayson clan, though they started it.
Aurora Rose Reynolds’ has penned a lighthearted novel that was an exhilarating read. Filled with laughs, awes, and surprisess, a cute fluff ball of a dog, low angst, and a happily ever after that comes quickly, or maybe I was just reading fast–Baiting Him was everything my romantic heart needed!
Talk about yum-my! Not only did the food and scrumptious sweets that Chrissie created make my tummy rumble, but Gaston was the delicious hero every woman weak for an alpha dreams of. He was sexy, gorgeous, intelligent, articulate, kind and caring, successful, and everything Chrissie could ask for. They meet and, despite Chrissie’s reluctance to take a chance on potential heartbreak, he was relentless in his pursuit of her (which I loved). The development of their relationship was a lot easier than I expected, not counting the sliver of drama towards the end. Gaston and Chrissie’s love was smooth, effortless and inevitable. Their chemistry was on point, there was very little angst, and the sex scenes were exactly what I was hoping for. No fade-to-black here people!! It’s been a long while since I’ve read anything from ARR, but if this is the type of story I’ve been missing, you better believe I’ll be going back for more!
I really enjoyed this book especially because of Gaston, at first I was like surely that can’t be his name but it grew on me and then finding out he had a dog named Lefou just sealed the deal on how much I loved this man. Gaston is a hot alpha male who works hard, knows exactly what he wants, and goes for it. I loved how much he wanted to get to know Chrissie more, so he pursued her hard and got what he wanted. Chrissie is a bakery owner and she works so hard for her business that she rarely takes time off for herself so when her and Gaston become a couple, she finds herself wanting more time with him and worrying less about her bakery. She is hesitant about a relationship because of what she saw her mother go through after her parents divorced but Chrissie wants her happily ever after, so she goes with it. Gaston and Chrissie have an amazing chemistry and they fall head over heels with each other, but I wished that the dilemma/drama wouldn’t have ended so abruptly. If you want a steamy read that has an alpha man that takes care of those, he loves then this book is for you.
I’m a big Aurora Rose Reynolds fan, and I love her brand of alpha hero. I love the heroines she pairs them with, and her stories always deliver the perfect blend of sweet and steam to produce that addictive BOOM! that makes my heart happy. Low on the angst, heavy on the sweet and the swoon, Reynolds creates these completely addictive romances that are easy-to-read, sexy and drama-free.
Baiting Him is the second story in Reynolds’ How to Catch an Alpha series. Chrissie owns a successful bakery, and if it isn’t a cupcake, she doesn’t really have time for it. Gaston, or Gus as everyone calls him, is a successful nightclub owner and knows a thing or two about being busy between running his three clubs. But he also knows a good thing when he sees it, and after their first meeting, he pulled out every swoon-worthy move to get her attention. But Chrissie’s been down this road before, she knows guys like Gus aren’t for her, she’s been chewed up and spit out by them before, and she’s not up for that again. Their undeniable chemistry and the witty banter bouncing back and forth between them is Chrissie’s first clue that there is more to Gus than meets the eye. If his good looks weren’t enough, the gentle way he treats her and his determination start to wear her down, and she’s a complete goner when she meets his aptly named little dog, LeFou.
Aurora Rose Reynolds totally brings the boom in Baiting Him with a low-angst, light-hearted, feel good story with all of the sweet and sexy romance readers love from her. Gaston was a determined hero who knew exactly what he wanted and pulled out every swoon-worthy move to get her attention. I absolutely loved watching this couple fall in love, and I was totally swept up in their romance as I devoured this book in a day. Baiting Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds gets 4.5 smooches from me!

I enjoyed it. Good story and good characters and a fun plot. I enjoyed the listen!
The moment I started reading this second book in this series I was baited. I just had to have more and could not stop until the book was done. This is a great series.
This story is about Gaston and Chrissie. Gaston owns a few bars and. Chrissie owns her own bakery. They meet while she is out one night at his club and end up talking a bit and forming a connection. It is so sweet how Gaston peruses Chrissie, it definitely makes you want to find your own Gaston. I definitely recommend this book.
You have to go read this book to get the details, no spoilers here.
Book two in the new How to Catch an Alpha series, Baiting Him was a light, fun read with low angst and a sweet, sexy romance.
Summary:
Chrissie is living her dream. She knew from a young age she wanted to own her own bakery, and all of her hard work, dedication, and focus has paid off. Her dream is thriving, and she’s determined to keep it that way. That means no men. Any free time she has is given over to sleep, and she’s more than enough to know that relationships are trouble. Chrissie didn’t account for Mr. Tall, Dark, and Alpha, though. Gaston always gets what he wants because he works hard to make that so. From the moment he met Chrissie, he was baited, and knew he didn’t want to be let go. She tastes better than she looks and makes him laugh. What more could he want in a woman? But Chrissie isn’t going to make it easy. Luckily, Gaston knows good things don’t come easy, and he’s ready to put in the work. Can Gaston convince Chrissie that he’s a great catch and claim her as his reward before an unknown danger catches him first?
Baiting Him was the sort of read you grab for a lazy afternoon in your cuddle chair. The conflict was mild and the romance solid. I really enjoyed Chrissie and Gaston’s story. Chrissie is Leah’s best friend from book one, and I really enjoyed her character. She was more emotional than I imagined when we first met her, but still very loving, sassy, strong, and protective of those she loves. She felt she had to take on a lot of the burden in order to keep her loved ones happy, and that made her somewhat guarded and closed off. Gaston really stole the spotlight in this book, for me. He was all alpha, but an entirely different breed than what we are used to seeing from Aurora Rose Reynolds. He was possessive, protective, and cocky, but in a more genteel manner, if that makes sense. He was exactly the type of man Chrissie needed because while he pushed his way into her life, he recognized and adapted his pursuit to be sure she was comfortable. I loved everything about Gaston. His personality, his career, and his alpha-ness. As a couple, Chrissie and Gaston complimented each other perfectly. I loved their meet-cute, and banter that seemed to be both sweet and funny. There wasn’t much couple drama, which helped me feel secure in the romance, and the steamy scenes were well-written. Overall, this was a quick read with wonderful characters. One of the conflicts was a little odd, though. It really didn’t become known that this was a conflict until closer to the end of the book, and then it was resolved within a couple of pages. The romance was the focus, which I liked, but in my opinion, the book didn’t need this conflict. The familial drama was enough for me, so I was expecting something to do with that. I adored the secondary cast. Chrissie’s shop girls, Aubrey and Rachelle were fun and brought a playful feel to the book. I also appreciated catching up with Leah and Tyler. We meet a few new characters as well, one being Anna, the heroine from book three. If you’re looking for a quick, sweet romance with a bit of familial drama and a sweet alpha male, Baiting Him is definitely for you. I’m looking forward to coming back to this world in book three.

Another great read by Aurora Rose Reynolds!! I absolutely love her Alpha Heroes and the sassy yet fierce heroines that they fall in love with.
Baiting Him was another sexy, fun and entertaining read. This is a standalone novel that is told in Dual POV!!
I loved Gaston and Chrissie’s story. It was sweet and romantic without a lot of drama. Don’t get me wrong there is that one character you’d like to throat punch, but even she wasn’t that important in this story.
If you love an Alpha male and the strong and independent woman…then you need to read this book. Or to be exact read any Aurora Rose Reynolds books….they are amazing!!!!
I didn’t really see Gaston as an alpha. He was sexy and gorgeous, of course, but I think (at least when it came to Chrissy, anyway) that he was a teddy bear. He was so swooningly sweet to her. She came first, even early in their relationship? Does he have a brother? I thought they had a great love story and he was there when she needed him most. Loved it!
Another great book in this series from this new to me author! This story of Gaston “Gus” and Chrissie is sexy, emotional and swoon-worthy. I loved meeting Chrissie in the first book as Leah’s bestfriend and couldn’t wait to read her story, curious to see how it would unfold and I was not disappointed. Gaston had me from the beginning with his determination to catch Chrissie’s attention by proving he wasn’t the player she thought he was. Get ready to have your heart fluttering from these two who were meant to be!
I have to say I loved Chrissy and how she had to overcome the challenges she faces. Love is not something that she has always believed in but when Gaston comes into her life things start to change. It is not an easy road but it is one that was worth the journey. Truly loved this book!!!
Another great book!!! I love that there was no unnecessary drama! I would highly recommend this book!
Was given an arc for an honest review
We met Chrissie in the first book in the series. She owns a successful bakery and doesn’t make time foe herself. She has put dating on the back burner to focus on her business. She meets a handsome club owner and things start to change for her. Gaston doesn’t take no for an answer he is very persistent and goes after what he wants.
These two have great chemistry are perfect for each other I was so glad when Chrissie finally gave Gaston a chance. This was a fun fast paced read. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to more of Aurora Rose Reynolds work.
This was such a quick, good read! Overall, the story was cute, the characters solid, and the romance super sweet. For a series labeled “How to Catch an Alpha,” the male lead, Gaston, isn’t oppressively male and domineering like most “alphas” in romance novels are. Instead, he is remarkably sweet and protective of Chrissie and actively advocates for her to push beyond her limits to make herself better.
I loved that Chrissie was independent and a go-getter and that, despite finding Gaston attractive at their first meeting at his club, she didn’t fall all over herself to impress him. Gaston encouraged Chrissie to keep pursuing her passion of baking but take a step back to truly enjoy the best life has to offer. He was truly alien-like in his perfection. 😉
I was also pleasantly surprised with the direction the author took the “scorned mother” plotline in. It feels like more often than not in these kinds of books, the unhappily divorced mother has a profound impact on their daughter’s desire/ability to form a relationship and thus the daughter spends an agonizing amount of time going back and forth between will-she, won’t-she. Reynolds nipped that in the bud rather quickly, which I was extremely grateful for, as it allowed Chrissie and Gaston’s relationship to bloom so much quicker and without unnecessary drama.
This was my first ARR read but it certainly won’t be my last! Highly recommend.
Baiting Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds is a bit of an insta-love story that was sweet and charming. Chrissie is a busy woman. Running her bakery gives her very little free time, but it makes her happy. A man is the last thing she needs right now. Gaston is a man used to female attention not having them turn him away. But he knows Chrissie is a woman worth fighting for. I loved watching him go all out for her. This was seriously swoony, fun and delightful.
Happy reading!
What can I say Aurora never let’s me down, I have yet to read a book that I haven’t loved. Every character has their own character and these characters where perfect for each other! The only downside is Aurora books read so fast and now I’m left needy! Excellent book!! Happy reading!!
Another Cute romantic book. Chrissie and Gaston are a fun couple to read, this book is full of sugary cuteness. It’s fun to watch Gaston chase Chrissie in the beginning, desperate men for the woman are always fun to read. Again with book two it’s low angst, and just a sweet romance. The give and take between the characters is a treat, it’s that kind of maturity that makes this book better than most. Their banter will keep you smiling throughout.
Gaston, no one looks like Gaston, no one loves like the alpha Gaston. Chrissie runs into Gaston
coming out of the men’s room in Gaston’s club. The line for the ladies bathroom was too long.
Gaston comes into the bathroom and is surprised to say the least to see a woman. His first
impression of Chrissie is that she is beautiful and he wants her. When she walks up to the
bar to get drinks and he starts a conversation with her. Chrissie puts him off telling him to go away.
Well what would any alpha man do that wants to get to know the woman he is infatuated
with but send her flowers and woo her. I really enjoyed the instant attraction Gaston has
for her and how he pursues her. What woman doesn’t want a Gaston pursing her.
The book is a sweet no angst low drama and good feel listen. Jason Clarke narrates with that low
sexy voice giving Gaston just the right amount of alpha hotness. Aurora Rose Reynolds wrote
another winner.
4 Baiting Him Stars
Baiting Him is the second instalment in the How to Catch an Alpha series by Aurora Rose Reynolds. You don’t have to have read the first in the series though to enjoy this book.
Cassie is a very sweet heroine with a bit of an emotional side to her. She owns and runs a bakery she loves and doesn’t really have much of a life outside that. She’s out for the first time in a very long time for her friend’s hen night when she meets this incredible hot, sexy man. Although she has no allusions about this man or that he might have any interest outside a one night stand and she’s just not into that so she dismisses him.
“Don’t confuse men and boys, sweetheart,” he says, then lowers his voice. “And don’t assume you know the kind of man I am when you haven’t given me a chance to show you what I’m made of.”
Gaston (Can I say what a name!) is out to prove to Cassie that he is not that type of man she thinks he is. He just wants a chance with her, he knows what he wants and will do anything to prove his worth and convince her she’s it for him.
This was a really sweet read for me but the suspense part took up way less of the story then then blurb would allow you to think. It was a tad misleading. However if you’re looking for a nice easy, with all the warm feelings read, then this is for you.

Baiting Him (How to Catch an Alpha Book 2)
Book 2 in the How to Catch and Alpha series and I am loving it. Chrissie wasn’t looking for love but love had other plans. Gaston was attracted to her from the first time he saw her in the mens room at his club. There was something about her that he couldn’t stay away from. Once they gave into their attraction, it was explosive. Loved this quick read.
