Rowan McAuliffe has been hiding most of her life. Secretly trained in her powers by an unusual source, she’d been taught not to trust anyone. Especially other witches. However, after she was forced to perform a hateful act against her will, she now hides from the Covens Syndicate and their judgement. Greyson Masters is the Syndicate’s best hunter. On top of the danger of his job, Greyson is … Greyson is trying to raise his triplet daughters alone, budding new witches who display an alarming combined power no one understands. Too bad he doesn’t have a clue how to deal with them.
Until Rowan walks in and the chaos settles for the first time in…well, ever.
Little does Greyson realize that his new nanny is the very witch he is hunting, and she’s been hiding right under his nose this whole time.

I LOVE this world soooo much and Bait N’ Witch was an absolute hit with me. It was a bit more on the slow burn side, which I’m normally ok with, but since this was a novella length. I was just begging for a full-length novel because I wanted so much more of Rowan and Grey.
What a place to hide, right in plain sight. I really loved that that aspect with their story and just reading their inner dialogue about what they thought about one another. It was absolutely everything. Between the mystery behind Rowan, Grey’s fierce love for his daughters, I was completely hooked on their story from beginning to end.
When it came Grey, I loved how sensitive he was and how how in tune he was to Rowan’s feelings. He never really thought about his actions when it came to her and I’m like ugh, dude, you’re going to blow this. It was actually kind of adorable to see.
And I just loved everything about Rowan! And that’s all I’ll say about her 😉
Such a great read, but I was just begging for more by the end! Abigail does it again with this novella and I can’t wait to read more.

Bain N’Witch is book 3 in the Brimstone Inc series, and though you can technically read this book standalone, there will be some confusion about Rowen’s origins when you get started. There will also be a lot of characters that you will not know and will likely not get some nuances of the story because of. So I highly suggest reading the first two books. They’re short and sweet (just like this one), so I promise it won’t be a burden. Also, the underlying thread that is Dahlia is added upon here, as in the previous two, and you’ll definitely be lost on that front. 😉
Bait N’ Witch follows directly after Shift Out Of Luck (last scene is essentially the first scene of this book) and follows our misfit, so very unlucky, witch Rowan as she deals with the fallout of the big wedding and her enslavement to the evil werewolf (so happy he’s dead, for all three couples’ sakes!). Greyson is the warlock hunter assigned to track her down. So what does our genius Dahlia do? She gets Rowan a job babysitting his triplet preteen daughters! There is obvious amusement and shenanigans to follow, with plenty of heartwarming moments and sweet as well.
The most fun in this book was watching Rowan try to simultaneously learn about the ‘normal’ witching world (she was raised ‘different’) while also pretending she has very low level witch powers (that apparently is a prerequisite for being a nanny). She definitely steps up to the plate and gives it a darn good go! Grey is overall a very lovable character who from almost the start the reader can’t help but to have the feels for. And the girls are too fun.
If you like a quick, heart-melting story with touching family moments, fun action scenes with magic, a little steamy fun time, a great big helping of paranormal activities, and a good dose of biting your nails with the main character, this is a great book for you.
‘Bait N’ Witch‘ is the third title in the ‘Brimstone, Inc.’ series – and this one may just be my favorite (of course, I think that with every new release in this series so who knows what the next one will become for me).
Sometimes hiding in plain sight is the best defense, and Rowan is right in the enemy’s lair as she becomes a nanny for Greyson’s triplet daughters, little preteens with astounding powers, and normally chaos rules in this household. Now, things are calming down and that’s all due to Rowan’s presence in their lives… but nothing lasts forever, and Rowan’s past is about to catch up with her. Will she lose everything she now holds close in her heart or will there be a way out of the trouble she’s landed in?
Aside from the obviously vile villains I loved everything about ‘Bait N’ Witch‘. Rowan’s so-called crime was at the instigation of a powerful werewolf who preyed on Rowan’s vulnerability and now she’s paying the price. Greyson is a powerful hunter and usually has no trouble bringing in the culprit he’s after, only this time is different. For the longest time, his target was elusive and when he discovers exactly where she’s been hiding he is definitely taken aback. A decision has to be made and now his choice is love or duty – and he knows which side he wants that decision to fall on. I am fascinated by the powers the triplets are showing. The chaos and confusion of the preteen years are bad enough, add in extreme supernatural powers and it becomes explosive. These five people become a family quite easily, now they have a battle on their hands to remain a family… and they are not shy about fighting for what is right and what they need.
If you love a really good Paranormal Romance then you need to be checking out this series. While I will always try to read a series in order, I know that’s not always possible for everyone (even me)… yet, you will find characters and some of their information from previous stories in this series in ‘Bait N’ Witch‘ so just be aware that you might get some spoiler information if you’re just joining – or background if you cannot go back to the beginning, it all depends on perspective, doesn’t it?
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Entangled via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Another totally enjoyable, light-hearted addition to this paranormal series. Once again we meet a couple that are obviously destined for each other, and figure that out long before they do so.
Rowan is not what she appears or pretends to be, which leaves her feeling deceitful for keeping secrets, even though they are ones designed to keep her safe. Even at that, however, she is emotionally open and pure, giving the best of herself to those around her. She is such a sweetheart to the triplets, even while giving them the little bit of tough love that they need. And she is totally contrary and sassy to Grey, which is also what he needs, apparently.
I wasn’t sure about Greyson at the beginning of this tale. He didn’t seem like much of a father or a very nice person in general. But you quickly warm up to him and realize that he is doing his best in trying circumstances.
Most of the secondary players, some we’ve met in previous volumes of the series, were delightful and interesting to read about, with the obvious exception of Phersephone. But the triplets, their great-grandma, and her cat all made fun characters with whom to become acquainted. I hope we see more of them in future episodes.
There was quite a bit of angst and drama that didn’t need to be present in this tale, especially regarding tensions between Rowan and Greyson. Also, there really wasn’t a lot of explanation or exploration of the powers that the triplets weild. There really wasn’t much explanation or discussion about the primary “bad guy” (who turns out to be a woman). The ending in general wrapped up too quickly. But overall it was a fun paranormal romance, and one that I would definite recommend for fans of the genre. I eagerly await the next installment.
This is book 3 in the Legendary Consultants and while it could be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the previous books before this one as they are interconnected and some of this characters story is told in the previous books. In this one we get Rowan McAuliffe and Greyson Masters story. Rowan has been in hiding most of her life. She was taught never to trust anyone, especially while being trained in secret. But when she was forced to perform an act against her will, she is now in hiding from the Mage High Council. Grey is the councils best enforcer and hunter. Despite how dangerous his job is, he is also raising triplet daughters. And is need of a new nanny. What better place to hide than right under the hunters nose? After getting to know Rowan will Grey be able to follow his council’s orders or will he do what he can to protect her?
I thoroughly enjoyed this one!! Rowan has had a tough life and an especially tough time due to some horrible people. But she is this tough, beautiful soul who still tries to do the right thing. She has a heart of gold and I loved her. Grey lost his wife and was left to raise his girls alone and I love the way he tries his hardest but is so completely lost as to what to do in a lot instances. But he loves them and never stops trying to protect them, even from themselves! I love how they are with each other and the capacity they both have for not only love but to be stand up people who are willing to do whatever needs to be done. Now I just need Delilah’s story!! And I can’t wait for the triplets to grow up and get stories of their own!
I’ve been wanting to delve back into the paranormal genre for a while now, and this book was the perfect one to wet my appetite for more.
As one of those pesky “must read books in order” gals, I will admit that I didn’t realize Bait ‘N Witch was part of a series, because I probably would have read the previous books first. But I didn’t and it did not affect my enjoyment of this book at all. The author did a great job of giving just enough info to keep you from being lost about Rowan’s involvement in the earlier books without rehashing their whole plots. I now have those on my tbr list.
Rowan and Grey are electric in their chemistry and charming and funny in their relationship as “nanny” and boss. His interactions with his teen daughters are so typical and normal, definitely enhanced by his workaholic tendencies and the fact that he’s a single dad. And I love how Rowan handles their less than enthusiastic attitude towards her. But she’s just what they need.
Great dialogue, an easy to read pace and engaging characters made my first Abigail Owens book a pleasure to read…and definitely not my last!

My review :
Will she be able to save herself without endangering her heart …
I knew nothing about this author and something in the blurb intrigued me.
I read a few paranormal authors, yet in a few weeks, I discovered three new ones and I loved the insight they give of this very wide world.
Vampires are in the paranormal beings I like the lest, so far I do not find their blood lust very enticing, plus their cruel behavior often leaves me unsettle.
Shifters, I very much prefer, is it because of their bond with their animal side, I just prefer when the mating urge does not devour all the romance part.
And so far, outside Harry Potter, I have only read one or two romances about witches and warlords, I was never very much attracted by this side of the paranormal universe, I do not know why, maybe my upbringing reading Marvel and DC comics, I do prefer forms of life with superpowers.
So It was with very neophyte eyes I began my reading, and I was instantly smitten. So much I read it quite fast. I did not felt lost despite it being the three books in a series and the whole background quite new to me.
The plot was interesting, the characters attractive, and the book in itself answers all the questions emerging from the first chapters.
The open epilogue is a sweet teaser for what might come later.
Rowan, despite she being on the run, looks like a resilient and determined woman, not once broken pat her many ordeals, in fact she comes out every time stronger.
She is not bitter about her fate and what she faced in the past, still able to love and enjoy life even if she knows time is running out.
Greyson is supposed to be the more powerful of the two, yet Rowan, lively nature and inner talent with kids breaches his defenses, she crumbles his walls and opens himself to feelings he buried long ago.
This fast paced and entertaining had me mesmerized at how they would deal with the villains and how they might redeem Rowan her past deeds.
4.5 stars

I’ve missed the first two books in this fab series. What a tragedy – I’ve now added them to my TBR list!
Rowan’s upbringing was unconventional to say the least but when she is on the run for being in league with a magical criminal, she needs to get out of Dodge fast. When Brimstone Inc decide to hide her from the investigators they decide the best place for her is in the home of the lead investigator! Talk about hiding in plain sight!
She may know little about children but with her magical talents are on the downlow. So she uses good old common sense, reverse psychology and good old “Nanny Voice” to get them in line.
Greyson enjoys his job. Its time consuming and doesn’t exactly make him Mr Popular but looking after triplets is much harder! They’ve run off so many nannies it’s not funny anymore. Bur Rowan is like a gift from heaven. His house runs like clockwork, she can get the girls in line and she is damn sexy. An added bonus.
Really loved this little gem. Rowan is a Scot (just like me!) and I loved her no nonsense approach. She is caring without being a snowflake and I loved her devious plans to get the kids in line. Rowan and Greyson are just sparky and snarky! I’m now going to read books 1 and 2 to see what I’ve missed!
Rowen McAuliffe is a powerful witch, but she must hide most of her power while she’s in hiding. No where is better to hide than right under the nose of the ones hunting her. Looking after three preteen witches is not that easy.
Greyson Masters is an enforcer for the Mage High Council. He takes his work very seriously. It would help him find the witch he’s after if he could find out what she looks like.
Just how long can our heroine hide before trouble catches up to her?
There is a lot of danger in the magical battles and a lot of fun and mischief from the youngsters. Will our hero be able to save his family and Rowen??
Absolutely magical fun.
Bait N’ Witch is an incredible adventure of the heart born from mysterious origins and enhanced with magical intensity. There is never a dull moment, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I simply loved and savored everything about this story. The entrancing characters, the beautifully complex storyline, and the ever present danger weaving in and out left me in awe and anticipation. This epic journey will change your heart and mind.
Rowan needs someone in her corner now more then ever. Life is crashing down around her, and to survive she must do the unthinkable. Greyson has a lot weighing on his shoulders. He must find an impossible balance between family, work, and life. Can two people lost and alone in the world fill the massive void in the others life, or will they bring their world tumbling down no matter what they do?
I found myself completely entranced by the intriguing Rowan and the straight laced Greyson. These two rubbed against each other at first meeting, and they entertained me the entire time. They captured my heart and set me on a course for a powerful climax of epic proportions. Nothing prepared me for the power and beauty of this brilliant work of art.
Abigail Owns is a master at pulling all of my heart strings. She doesn’t pull any punches, and when she throws twists at you, she makes you feel every excruciatingly painful edge. I love this intensity to her writing, and I can’t wait to see what she creates next in this fabulous series!!
This was a really fun book to read.
Greyson is a high ranking member who is on the hunt for a witch. He is also a single dad of three girls who are giving their nanny’s a hard time. Roman tries a different service for a nanny and this is where he meets Rowan.
Roman was a great character. At the heart of her character, she is a kind and friendly person who was forced to do some despicable things. She needs to know what Greyson knows so why not hide in plain sight as his nanny.
These two were fun to read about adn watch circle each other. This book not only had laughs but it also had mystery and drama. It was very interested to find out more about the girls and their powers.
Greyson is a powerful mage, he works for the Covens Syndicate (it’s like a witches and warlocks council.) Basically finding witches or warlocks that break the rules set by the council. He either brings them in for judicial system to sort, or he can dispense justice there and then.
Rowan is a witch on the run, after being held against her will and made to do evil things, she escaped. But she always has her eye on the road, she can’t stay long. The nanny job is a great way to hideout until her trail has gone cold.
I liked this book. You could probably read without reading the previous books, I did, but I felt I was missing things. So I may have to go back and start at the beginning.
Well written, very descriptive.
I sense there is more to Rowan than just a simple witch (do previous books give us more?) am I right? Read it and find out
Grayson has pre-teen triplet daughters, his wife died in childbirth, so a succession of nannies have tried to help him. But his daughters aren’t having any of it, they don’t need a nanny (so reminds me of the film “The Sound of Music”) and try to cause trouble for Rowan at every turn. But slowly she wins them over, she treats them like young adults rather than little children. Grayson also has a hard time with his daughters, he’s not sure how to relate to them, and when they ask about their mother, what does he say?
Rowan knows what it’s like to lose someone, her parents were killed in an accident, the woman/demon/witch who looked after and cared for her like a daughter was killed by the werewolf that took her. So Rowan can’t get attached to the teens, and certainly not the dad!!
The attraction between Grayson and Rowan was fun to read, the lust was practically instant, the trust comes later, (along with a few scorching kisses) but with both of them hiding secrets from one another, how long will it be before secrets coming tumbling out?
And how will the witch hunter react when the witch he’s hunting is right under his nose?
Another great addition to the Legendary Consultants series by Abigail Owen!
When this novel first started, I couldn’t help but feel like it was the Sound of Music meets Harry Potter. And honestly, you can’t really go wrong with that combination! I mean, you’ve got the delightful nanny who comes to help look after the sometimes rambunctious children. There might not be seven of them, but when you’re dealing with three teenage triplet witches, it’s a pretty close comparison.
Then you have the strict father who is all about following the rules, yet still has an obvious love for his children, and a growing desire for the nanny who is having such a positive impact on all of their lives. There might not be any singing or Nazis in this book, but you’ve got witches, werewolves, a Mage High Council, and plenty of sexual tension that is just bursting at the seams! And I’m talking about the seams of Grey’s pants of course.
What I love about this series is that although there is a continuing story line throughout each of the three novels, we are offered a different perspective of the events which have transpired based on the characters who are being featured as the leads in any given book. An added bonus is the fact that each novel deals with a new kind of paranormal couple.
In the first book you had a nymph and a demi-god, in book two you had a pair of alpha werewolves, and in this one you have some very talented witches with an unbreakable bond between them. You still see a reference to the characters and events from the previous novels, yet by constantly switching up the “species”, as it were, it’s basically a guarantee to never get bored!
A large portion of this novel deals with Rowan trying to hide her true identity from Grey, as he is actually a witch hunter who has been tasked with hunting her down. This complication definitely adds to the building sexual tension between them, as every time they get too close Rowan has to pull away, or risk discovery.
The one thing I would have liked more information on was the evil werewolf forces chasing after Rowan. This feature was brought in rather quickly towards the end of the novel, and I felt like we really didn’t get to understand who this werewolf was, or why she was dead set on getting revenge against Rowan. Yes, technically the motive was mentioned, but I think a few more scenes involving this enemy would have added to a deeper understanding of the story.
Rowena was a handful with her sassy spunk, yet her practical side was able to balance things out beautifully. I don’t think Greyson knew what hit him!
A widower raising triplet teenage girls, juggling their burgeoning magic while staying on his toes as Enforcer to the Council, Greyson appeared to be a bit stuffy, when he was really a doting dad struggling with a lot on his plate.
The attraction was unexpected, as was the bonding of the family with Rowena. But what fun it was to see these two realize what they didn’t know they were missing!
This was a fun read! The sparks between Rowena and Greyson were fantastic and the irony of Greyson’s daughters’ abilities…talk about Fate having the last laugh! Those girls were a hoot!
Book three in the series, Bait N’ Witch can be read by itself, but the others are worthwhile just to meet everyone else and see Delilah in action!
