Life on the sea is enough for Roselyn, until he gets under her skin.
Roselyn Jensen runs her father’s crab boat with an iron fist. When another captain asks for her help, she expects the transition to be smooth. However, all her years on the Bearing Sea haven’t prepared her for him.
Salvatore Russo also comes from a long line of fishermen. Although the most junior of his boat’s crew, he yearns … crew, he yearns to advance. His hope grows when they need a replacement for their deck boss. He needs the newbie to take over his duties. Then she shows up
Between his resentment of her and her attraction to him, their worlds spin out of control. What happens when their love of the sea threatens to capsize these two jaded crabbers? Will they give in to their urges or stick to their pledge of staying professional?
The “Girl Power Collection” is a celebration of feminism in an unprecedented manner and will serve as an inspiration for millions of readers across the globe.
Over the years, men that have made landmark achievements in different facets of life have often been celebrated with very little stories about bad ass women that have excelled in their respective positions. While there are some works that highlight the fantastic achievements of women in powerful positions, there is no particular project exclusively dedicated to celebrating the “girl power.”
The compilation contains short stories with the theme of Girl Power in whichever way the author defines it for herself and her readers. The 33 romance stories are narrated in a diverse yet entertaining and inspiring way and will be released in regular intervals throughout 2020.

I was hooked! And I wanted more! Well done!
I am loving the way the authors in this collection take professions that are traditionally male dominated and turn them on their head with a strong female lead. Bella does just that in Bait Me with her female crab boat captain. I loved that though she was strong she was also okay with being vulnerable, an uneasy line for many authors to manage. If you know me at all you know I have a thing about fate so the main characters crossing paths throughout their lives before finding each other at just the right time was perfect for me. Well done and I can’t wait to read more!
Holy Cow! First off let me say that that Girl Power Series is an AMAZING idea, the authors are all talented and intelligent women. I was very honored when I was asked to read and review Bait Me by Bella Jeanisse. I have never heard of a female crabber, so that aspect of the story totally grabbed me.
Jeanisse writes a stunning story of two people who both been hurt, neither looking for love that find their solace in each other. Not realizing that their paths have already crossed when they were mere kids or how fate keeps making their paths merge.
The steamy scenes and intimate workings of Salvatore and Roselyn leave you wanting for more. Seeing the growth in both main characters is just as satisfying as the storyline. Development and flow are consistent, making you see how the relationship goes full steam so fast. This book makes you feel powerful as a woman and yet also lets you see how just by letting someone treat you like a lady doesn’t mean that they are trying to make you feel less than. They may just be treating you with the respect and honor you deserve.
This story was quite different from the other stories that I’ve read so far in the Girl Power Collection. While Roselyn was the powerful, strong female character who was able to hold her ground and had a sharp tongue (which is what I’ve come to look forward to and love in these stories.) Roselyn also had a vulnerable side and I enjoyed that she was able to embrace that without compromising her strength. I think that Roselyn and Salvatore were exactly what each other needed, even if they didn’t know they needed it.
Let me first begin by saying this is my first book by this author. I genuinely enjoyed the story from beginning to end. It is a fast-paced read, but none the less romantic and fun.
Roselyn is the only female in her family. She has learned from the best, to not take any (you know what) and how to handle working on a crab boat. Bella packed so much into Roselyn, she is a well rounded, bad@ss female character. She is in her mid-twenties and it was so refreshing to read about a young female who had herself together. I loved every new layer of her, and trust me, as you turned the page, we found a new layer to Ros. I wanted to hug her, party with her, and go fishing all at the same time.
Salvatore is everything you’d expect by hearing his name. He is also everything you don’t expect. This man gets the awakening deep in his soul to realize that he has found the one. I loved how he didn’t care what he did for a living and wasn’t ashamed to let Roselyn in, or ashamed of her. He made her more powerful and that is what the queen needs in her king.
All of the side characters just helped with building the story and world. I don’t know if the author plans more, but I would love to see her brothers meet their match.
I read this book in about two hours. If you are looking for a unique romance, with heartfelt love then, check this story out. I don’t think you will be disappointed. It definitely gave me something I didn’t even know I was looking for in a read.
With this being my first book by this author, I would definitely read more by her. I was not bored and found myself wanting to finish and find out how they got their HEA.
Dutch Harbor’s Female Boss
Roselyn worked side by side with her dad and brothers on a crab fishing boat in Alaska. Great part was she was her brothers’ boss on the deck and she knew her work. She met Sal while doing a little fill in stint on another boat but once the boat landed they parted ways.
Who would have guessed that both Roselyn and Sal lived and worked in California! Fate?! I loved the scene in which they first meet again. Whew!!
This book was about women who take on the men’s world while still being the beautiful women they outwardly show. I never would have thought that a book dealing in the Alaska crab fishing trade would pull out the best of women while giving me the hotness factor I love with this author’s books.
This is a true “woman in a man’s world” story, but Roselyn shows them she knows her stuff! I love her character. She is definitely tough, but still very much a woman. Salvatore is a overall a good guy, but needs to have his rear end handed to him to get over himself–which she does. I love their attraction and their love story.
Roselyn and Salvatore’s story was exceptional. Reading of a female crabber and Captain was a nice change from the norm. I loved how these two were a little vulnerable but they each found love and strength in each other.
Roselyn Jensen works as the deck boss on her father’s crab boat in Dutch Harbor. She’s one tough cookie in a mostly all male dominated career. When their season is over and the captain from Passionate Dreams needs a temporary deck boss, her father recommends her. She’s hesitant at first, not knowing any of the crew. Deciding she could use the extra cash, she agrees.
Salvatore Russo is a deck hand on Passionate Dreams. When he realizes the deck boss is a female, he’s floored.
Salvatore’s jaw dropped. “But she has tits!”
“Yeah, she’s a woman and the youngest deck boss in the fleet.” Devin frowned at the shock on everyone’s face.
Despite their rocky start, there is a mutual attraction.
Mesmerized by her green eyes, he froze. Why am I attracted to her?
She felt the same pull. What is it about him?
As the trip wore on, the crew and Ros shared mutual respect.
They meet again after two chance encounters.
“Finding you again…twice by accident. You can’t tell me you don’t find it odd. I’ve never gone fishing from this bay, and you never told me you owned a boat.”
Will they try to maneuver the world of dating? Ros is skeptical.
This is a wonderful story with a strong, feisty woman! The secondary characters are great as well!
Bait Me is a short story in The Girl Power Collection exclusively dedicated to celebrating “girl power.” I really enjoyed this story and if you ever seen Deadliest Catch, you will love this!
