I love this world and how lush and real and diverse it is. I love these characters, and how well the author sets them up for tragedy and joy. All three stories cut me deep, made me feel things I didn’t really want or expect to, and then rewarded me for my patience. I enjoy the writing style, the dialogue and the realistic decisions all these characters make.
Nora and Leo – what a bumpy road! But we get to meet such a wonderful cast of supporting players and really get into this world and I love that. I love them together, and I love the struggle trying to get them there. I wouldn’t say or do many of the things either of them do, but that’s why it’s fiction!
Cuba and Dovey – these two are really frustrating, and define torture. They are amazing together, and good for each other but have to get past their own sh*& to get there. Such a good ride for the reader as we get to meet Spider, get to know Cuba more than we saw in Nora and Leo’s story and see that for so many, life is just not simple, even in the years it should be!
Sebastian and V – I have always loved Sebastian. He’s just THAT GUY, whether he’s a friend or a boyfriend that lights up the whole room. I adore V and her badassery. But again with the torture and terrible decisions! These people just can’t get it together… until they do.
I’m very excited to continue with Spider’s standalone!
Loved this boxed set! The stories follow a set of characters through the end of prep school and beyond. Naturally, they all come with their own demons, but isn’t that the best thing? Getting to see them sort through the negatives to find their HEA? Recommend this set for sure
Somehow I’d missed starting at the beginning of Ms Madden-Mills’ books (started with Spider and worked backwards…) but I’m so glad I took the plunge and read them. It was great to meet the characters and follow them through all three books, and meeting Spider was awesome! The introduction to the Vital Rejects and how his character progresses… well, i’m looking forward to rereading his. Onwards and upwards, and onto the next book!
5 over all stars to Bad Wicked Twisted : A briarwood Academy Box Set by Ilsa Madden – Mills .
After reading all of the books in this set , I am not 100% on which one is my favorite .
“Behind every beautiful thing is a world of pain.” I think this quote from Very Bad Things Nora and Leo’s story really digs into what expect from the books . These are all about coming of age, believing in yourself and helping cope with the pains that come from that . I have loved every book I have read by Ilsa Madden -Mills and this set did not disappoint . I am going to say that Very Bad Things was the story that pulled me in the most . I loved every part of these books and Im sure you will too .
