interesting read. enjoyed it
Yes, the PI makes mistakes but I used to be a cop and doing frighteningly dumb things is real life! I read lots of murder mysteries, watch tons of cop show both real and fiction. I recommend the book and enjoyed. It’s a page turner.
Bad To The Bones is am amazing, thrilling, suspenseful and sad mystery. Evan is one heck of a great PI. This story is action filled and has great characters, both good and really bad characters. What he goes through to solve the case is frightening. Terrific writing the will keep you reading late into the night. All I can say is WOW.
Good book
James Harper Knox this book out of the ballpark! Evan living on a friend’s farm a retired professional ball player, turned farmer gets accused of murder. He has to escape custody to prove his innocence, along the way he has to recruit allies to help him with this! This is definitely a page-turner! I am a James Harper fan now! Buy this book people
It was predictable.
These Evan Buckley books get better and better. And Bad to the Bones may be the best yet. This is real gritty and grim and Evan really shows what he’s made of. He takes on the bad guys head to head in this one.
Great stuff!!
Good book with lots of twists.
I liked the story, but not the graphic violence so much.
Clever hidden twists, just enough to make you ask, “how did I miss that?”
Grade B writing – main character is a bumbler, not really well developed. I only kept reading to the end for the storyline. Basically ho-hum.
Excellent book…a real page turner that I could not put down.
I like the realistic characters
Loved this book start to finish
The main character in the book is a bumbling idiot without a bit of common sense. Not my type of main character who can handle himself without someoneelse pulling him out of the fire. The author did put some humorous things in the book that I enjoyed.
If I read it, it was excellent !!!!! I READ IT. JAK,jr. IT REALLY WAS !!!
James Harper’s PI, Evan Buckley is not a Jack Reacher (Lee Child) kind of badass, although, Evan does get his ass kicked. Harper’s writing had me on the edge of my chair and hanging on for dear life. BAD TO THE BONES is one of those books that literally keeps the reader turning pages until you reach the end of the ride. I will absolutely be reading more of Harper’s works.
Very good book, lots of action, twists and turns. Great characters. Really enjoyed the book. On to the next one.
In a Rock and a Hard Place, PI Evan Buckley and detective Kate Guillory, I thought possible team, even had a bit of sexual tension.
Book 1 Bad to the Bones was suspenseful with finger pointing twists changing guesses to no one knew All this held my interest, kept pages turning till the bitter end. Evan carried this story, gave Guillory the glory. I was too engaged with Mr Harper’s characters and storylines to let anything color my enjoyment of an exciting goodread and escape from reality. Book 2, Kentucky Vice is next for me.
