“A masterpiece! Tristan and Danika have a story told so realistically by R.K. Lilley, you’ll ache for them in BAD THINGS, and have a hard time remembering this is a novel. A very well written novel at that. Off the charts sexy, soul-baring emotion, and explosive chemistry between the two mix together here into pure literary gold. BAD THINGS is a beautiful thing!”
~Raine Miller
NYT’s Bestselling … Bestselling Author of The Blackstone Affair
Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier.
One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.
She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?
For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.
Bad Things is about Tristan and Danika, and their train wreck of a love story. This series can be read as a standalone, or with the Up in the Air series.
Bad Things is a full length novel, at roughly 105,000 words.
This book is intended for ages 18 and up.

Wow, I will never ever tire of the feeling this author gives me when reading her books.
I wanna say first that this is not my first time reading this book, it is, however, my first time reading it since I made a Goodreads account, I wanted to go back and re-read/listen to it before writing a review, because honestly? I will never tire of this story, these characters or the author and I was in need of a good dose of R.K Lilley again.
Bad Things is book one in the Tristan & Danika series, and if you have read R.K’s Up In The Air series first, then you would have read about these two, but what you didn’t get was their story and how they ended up where they did in that series. I first fell in love with these two in Up In The Air when they made an appearance, I often wondered throughout that series, where, what, how and why things were the way they were with T&D, and this book/series tells you all you want and need to know about these two.
Bad Things is the start of an EPIC, emotional, all-consuming, addictive and downright delicious relationship. In this book, we get to read when Danika and Tristan first met, how they met. In the beginning, these two tried to fight off their desire for one another, but it only made them want each other more, and having Tristan sleeping under the same roof and then in the same bed, well you knew damn well where this was leading… The flirting, the banter between the two of them and the chemistry that continued to build up, it was only a matter of time until they gave in, and when they did.. It was like nothing else they’d ever experience before, it consumed both of them, even to the point where the jealousy and possessiveness wasn’t healthy, but they could not deny themselves each other, and GOD DAMN.. It was powerful to read, it was so damn hot, so addictive, and the push and pull in this plot was overwhelming but perfect all at once and the angst? BE PREPARE. That’s all I can say, that’s the only thing I can say. BE PREPARE! I can’t really explain it, Even though I have read this time and time again, I was still on the edge of my seat as I read/listened like it was my first time around all over again.
I. Just. Couldn’t. Get. Enough!
I absolutely adore this author. She is my number 1. My go-to and my automatic one-click. She’s at the very top and this story, and plot and characters are exactly why. Her books are like no other books I have read before. Sure they are hot as hell, kinky as hell, but R.K puts in so much more depth to the story. Her words weave together and create an easy flowing, emotional, angst-filled, mind-fuckingly beautiful plot with amazing characters, I cannot fault this author on anything.
PURE PERFECTION sums it up nicely!!
Grab a bottle or 10 of wine, a box of issues, a fan and prepare for the ride of your life with this series, I can tell you now… You won’t get out of this without crying at least once!
Yet again, this book didn’t disappoint and I will be going back in the near future and re-re-reading all over again.
6 stars, because 5 just isn’t enough!!
Full review on the 3rd book page – Lovely Trigger
I love this series. Wish it were a movie!!
This year I decided to read all the books I always wanted to but never had time for.
I bought this book on June 11th 2015 It is extremely sad that it took me so long to read this incredible book.
The book is everything I expect from a romance and so much more. The story is so endless hopeless but also beautiful, I don’t know how to describe it in other way. It’s a love story with so many obstacles and complications, but in her own way unbelievable beautiful.
Danika’s and Tristan’s story is like a train wreck that you can’t look away from.
Their relationship and chemistry is so never-ending explosive, that it takes your breath away.
They are sweet and swoony one second and destructive and hateful the next.
Their sexual adventures are hot as hell and let just say there are more than few steamy scenes that make you sweat
The emotions and feelings that this story represents are more than just a love story.
Like the saying goes, we’re the product of our parents and environment and the two are shaped and hurt by exactly these two.
This story is a heartbreaking struggle for friendship, love and family and it’s the first book in the series.
I’m currently reading the second book and wow!
The review will be of course continued… They are 2 more books in this series to read and I love binge reading
Love this series, on my favorite list very well written it definitely on my re-read list
loooooord, I wasn’t sure if I could love another couple like I love James and Bianca…although I adored these two as side characters, their own story is HAWT, so amazing and sweet and even sad. It hits ALL the spots, and am moving to the next one with a lightning quickness.
Audiobook: Narrators – Sarah Naughton & Chris Ruen
This narration was pretty good. Nothing about it bothered me, which is always a win, but nothing stood out and made it outstanding either. I would re-listen to both of these narrators.
While this is a favorite of some readers, I’m left uncertain exactly how I feel about it. On one hand, I loved the possessiveness Tristan displays for Danika. However, I despised the double standard he exhibited. He went berserk over any other man that he even thought would make a move on her but he had no problem flirting with his ex and couldn’t understand why she didn’t see that it was innocent. And that’s just a tiny nugget of his off balance thinking. I don’t want to spoiler it completely. He also made decisions that just ticked me the heck off. As for Danika, I thought she was way too forgiving just because of his smile. So yeah, I may be turning into that reader that can’t handle the inequality between an “alpha” hero and the heroine.
I’ve started book two but even after the opening I’m thinking I’m in for an angst fest. Sigh.
Mostly Heroine POV with a few from Hero
Have to read all three books
Bad things, Rock Bottom, & Lovely Trigger
I had a hard with book I think it was because I kept thinking it was out of order I felt like it should have came before the up in the air series. Tristan is manwhore and Danika is noting like she was on up in the air. But it’s a great story that I can’t wait to continue
