I enjoyed the story with Theo, a widower with a 10 year old daughter, and Violet, a divorcee and teacher with 2 young children. Violet is a character from the first 2 books in this series. You can read this as a standalone but I do recommend reading the others first for background information. These two are troubled with emotional baggage but are thrown together when Theo hires Violet as a tutor for his daughter. They start an affair as they can’t fight their attraction to each other. I received an advance copy of this book from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.
A wonderful taboo sexy story. It can be read as a stand-alone, but you get a better sense of the main character, Violet, if you’ve read the previous story in the series. I was really pleasantly surprised by Violet; she turned out to be totally different from what I expected. The Frenchman was so sexy and easy to visualize, I could even hear his sexy accent as I read the book. I really liked how the kids were an important part of the story, not just background noise. The author showed both of the main characters as thoughtful, loving parents that really cared and put them first, even when it was hard to do with the sexual need they had for each other. All in all another great story and oh how it sizzled; watch those fingers, don’t want them to get burned.
Violet is the one who left her family to get help for severe post-partum depression. While she was gone she also finished her degree and now that she’s come back her world has changed radically. Her now ex-husband is marrying one of her best friends and while she isn’t totally comfortable with it, she knows they both deserve that happiness. She also has a great teaching job at a French language private school, but has been put in an awkward position by the principal. She has to inform Theo Brodeur that his daughter Marcelle is failing two classes and the rest aren’t any better. She’s has to tell him she has been expelled, but Theo is having none of it. He tears up the confirmation of the talk and leaves.
Upset with the outcome and what it could mean for her job, Violet leaves for home but distracted she rear-ends a car. The car with Theo Brodeur and his daughter Marcelle in it. Thinking quickly Theo comes up with a plan to keep his daughter in school. Violet would tutor his daughter for which he would pay her and convince Principal Clark to let Marcelle stay or he would tell the school of this accident. They would surely fire her after that and she really needs her job to pay off all the medical bills she incurred over the last couple of years.
Theo never expected to be so attracted to a woman so soon after his wife’s death and tries not to give in to his libido. On the other hand Violet is the first tutor that Marcelle has ever responded to, that in itself is a reason to stay away.
I love the way this story plays out, and it gets really sizzling. There’s also Principal Clark who isn’t happy with the turn of events and is determined to show Marcelle to the door.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series which I am guessing will be Lara’s story.
I knew this was going to be an interesting book because we got to know Violet a little in the previous books. It’s not a flattering picture she left me with, but I never expected how much I was going to like her. Hang in there with her and give her a chance trust me. Her back story is going to rip your heart out and all you want is for her to find her happiness. This book is Violet’s redemption. Now Theo I had to warm up to because he has a very grouchy side that makes him seem a little jerky. He will win you over. Violet and Theo have a ton of chemistry and it burns up the pages. The epilogue is the perfect touch and it left me with a happy smile on my face.
Who’s a bad teacher?
Theo only does no strings, what with his personality and a spoiled, willful daughter. So, when Violet is tasked with expelling said daughter, and a mishap with his car has him blackmailing her, things are going to get complicated with her past and their future.
Steamy, read with a lot packed in.
Recommend.
