Being bad never felt so good. I fell for Ally the moment I saw her. Who doesn’t like a confident, intelligent woman with curves I could spend days exploring?Who am I kidding?I have. Many times. Our story ended abruptly when she packed her bags and left like we weren’t meant to be. We are. So I’m calling her bluff. That’s how I ended up thousands of miles from home, standing next to a man who … home, standing next to a man who claims to be her fiancé.
Being good has never felt so bad.
When it comes to a successful man with an incredible body and biteable jaw aka Hutton . . . let’s just say willpower is not my strong suit.

Embracing my newfound good girl status, I do the right thing to start my reign. My desires no longer matter. The monarchy, the people, and my country do. There is no place for love in this new life.
But I never expected to see him again, much less standing next to my royally appointed soon-to-be fiancé. As if that didn’t complicate things, he’s wearing a perfectly tailored tuxedo and my favorite smirk. I straighten my crown and adjust my dress, realizing this good girl never stood a chance. I’ll take the bad reputation if I get him.

“This time, I’m not leaving anything to chance because we may have been fate, but it’s up to us to create our destiny.”
I’m so sorry I didn’t love this book more. I know it deserves a lot more love but tbh it just didn’t get to me like I expected. After loving Ethan’s book so much I had high expectations for Hutton’s book. However, that’s the thing with expectations, sometimes it’s hard to meet them.
“You’re the fairy-tale ending I wish I could have.”
Nevertheless I enjoyed reading this fairy-tale lovestory. Hutton is as selfless as his older brother, and if an Everest brother falls in love he falls fast, deep and endless. And with Ally he found his match. She challenges and completes him at the same time.
“If our relationship is doomed to go up in flames, we might as well be the ones who start the fire.”
Ally is a lovely heroine. Her soul is split between her upbringing and what she’s supposed to believe and live by and between who she really is and wants to be. Falling in love with Hutton only made the battle between these opposites worse. But he stands by her side and together they fight against those obstacles with ease.
“Hutton Everest is a bright knight in my dark nights.”
What I didn’t like about the book was that everything seemed to go too smooth. I missed something that was really gripping me. And the end felt rushed to me, I wish there were some more explaining of how things ended up and why.
I don’t know what it was that made me feel a little distant towards Ally and Hutton even though they are both very charismatic and lovable. I guess it’s just me. So please, if you want to meet both and the blurb intrigues you, don’t hold back and give Hutton and Ally a chance.
“The broken pieces of my spirit are collected in his embracing love, and my soul feels right again.”
Bad Raputation is a lovely modern fairy-tale where the princess found her prince charming, learning that being bad together only makes the world brighter, more interesting and definitely hot as hell.

More of those Everest brothers…sighs.
I loved Scott’s rendition of the modern day royal fairytale. I wasn’t sure how she was going to swing it all, but in the end I loved it. I loved Hutton because, well, he’s Hutton. But Ally, I adored her. I loved her feistiness and charm. She and Hutton had immediate chemistry and it just set the pages burning. Hutton and Ally both had so much character and they both seemed to evolve right before my eyes. Ally more so, and I loved all the secondary characters included in this one. The writing, as usual, is fabulous. Overall, Bad Reputation is sweet, funny and charming as all get out, and Hutton Everest makes one helluva Prince Charming 😉

Bad Reputation
What a very enjoyable fairy tale written by S.L. Scott! So many twists and turns! Wonderful characters! Well written.
I highly recommend!! Very fantastic!
“I love you, Ally, for being you and for the man you believe I am. I’ll live up to it. I swear to you.”
“No great love affair comes without its obstacles.”
REVIEW: 4 STARS
“There’s nothing rational about we’ve become so fast, but it doesn’t scare me. Time is a number. I’m good with numbers and facts.”
My FIRST book by SL Scott and now I matter of factly know that I have an arsenal of books to catch up on!! I have been purchasing and promoting her releases on my blog because they have always sounded so good, I just never had time to jump on a tour or squeeze one in and now that I have read her, I know that needs to be remedied!!
TALKING POINTS:
Ok….so this is billed as a standalone, but for those that love the WHOLE story and like to read in order, this follows Everest, which is Hutton’s brother’s story. But, saying that, I didn’t get any spoilers nor did I feel like I was missing any part of the story whatsoever. In my opinion, this was the way to write a standalone in an interconnected series. If anything , it made me want to read Everest sooner than later to get HIS story! I loved meeting Ethan and Singer, but am completely excited to read Bennett’s now too.
Also, the cover….hot, right? So much so and I agree. But I feel like it was a title aimed towards Ally, but with the cover of Hutton. It was an interesting mix of cover and title and how it played into the whole story.
I got to feel a love that seemed impossible. I got to read about a man that knew what he wanted and wasn’t taking no for an answer. I got to fall in love with a heroine that had a pretty strong lead in this book, and she was quite admirable. This one just worked all around for me!! Hutton was absolutely delicious for all that he was. He was a successful man, but of course….you know how they do: PLAYER!! Well, that was most definitely not who Hutton was. Hutton’s voice was very distinguishing. It was so easy to feel the alpha in him, but so good to see the man underneath that was so desperately in love with his girl. He had the outward appearances down pat, but the crux of who he was on the inside was completely and happily discovered by Ally. I think it was much to his shock and amusement that she did too, and that was wonderful to witness. I loved watching him fall in love, but the treat for me was watching Ally come to terms with her own strength – and not the one she was born and raised to be. There was an exploration of love between these two that wasn’t supposed to happen, so seeing the fight brought out in these characters was awesome. A love that was determined to win.
Nothing like settling into a fairytale and holding on throughout the smiles. This wasn’t a heavy book, by any means. It wasn’t angsty in the slightest. What it was was a light and fun, easy read. One that I would happily recommend for after the heavy, heart hitting, emotional reads or if you need a feel good, sweet and sexy read to keep you on a book high. SL Scott will be a new first pick for me to grab when I need a great storyline with a comfortable flow. This book was such a great introduction to her style and voice for me. Her voice wasn’t muddled, her characters were well fleshed out, and her storyline wasn’t overly dramatic – which I completely appreciate. All in all, I cannot wait to read more from her! This was most definitely a win for me in terms of reading a new to me author.

S.L. Scott is back with the Everest brothers and I couldn’t be more ECSTATIC!! S.L. Scott blew me away with Ethan Everest’s story, and I’ve been hooked on these brothers ever since. Never would I have dreamed of this story for Hutton and it’s everything and MORE.
Hutton and Aly’s first meet crackled with chemistry. From there, their story was full of twists and turns, but their passion for each other was unmatched by their circumstances.
While at first I was blind to the story plot, I quickly came to realize Hutton was a man of power, charisma, and completely alpha that would never let his woman get away. This led to a full on plight to get her back in the most unique royal romance. I was completely blindsided how the story unfolded, but, in true S.L. Scott writing fashion, I was loving every moment, every surprise and especially the ending.
Hutton and Aly are a match made in heaven. Another fantastic book by one of my favorite authors. I’ve loved everything she’s written and she keeps getting better.
Wow! That is the first word that comes to mind! This new world that S.L. Scott brings us was unpredictable and I loved every minute! Hutton really fell on his *you know what* when he first met Ally. She was definitely a fresh breath of air as our heroine. I think for me, the story changed its game when we were exposed to Ally’s truth. It was pretty early on in the story so you adjust and have time to wrap your head around it. In the end, Hutton is ready for the fight.
The swoony-ness you get from Hutton will have you wanting more! Bad Reputation is a thrill and nerve wrecking! A new favorite for me by S.L. Scott!
Whats that old saying? It’s the climbing of the mountain that makes the view from the top so breathtaking.
Its been a while since I read about Ethan so I was extra excited to see where Hutton would take me. I loved every minute of this modern day fairy tale. Hutton and Aly were a breath of fresh air, exactly what I needed.
Hutton is such a strong character. No holds barred, handsome and smart. A Texan Prince Charming smooth enough to charm the panties right off his Princess. Aly didn’t stand a chance. That is until…the inevitable happens and her “complications” pull her back to the reality of her true identity, who she was born to be.
“No great love affair comes without its obstacles.”
Aly is torn between her new found love interest and the love of her country. While Hutton understands her place, he isn’t willing to give up so easily. He does everything he can to make her see that she isn’t held captive, but in fact in charge of her own destiny.
I loved that I could understand what these two characters wanted and needed yet weren’t quite able to reach. I felt Aly’s struggle with trying to do the right thing, play by the rules, all she had ever known to be questioned. I felt Huttons need to give her space even though he didn’t want to. He knew she needed to make her own decisions and didn’t want to be the catalyst for her fall.
SL Scott delivers another masterpiece of words with this storyline and her quick witted characters. I can’t wait to see where she will take us next with these Everest boys.
“No great love affair comes without its obstacles. No matter what happens with the crown, I promise to give you the fairy-tale ending.”
And that clearly states what this book is all about. S.L. Scott has written one of the most amazing, beautiful love stories in Bad Reputation. It is so romantic, fun, flirty, heartwarming, and so hot & sexy. Hutton Everest may possibly have just taken the lead as the most caring and sweetest boyfriend. Ally has the most impossible of circumstances. She never imagined she would actually fall in love with the most beautiful man (inside & out) that she has ever met and she knows she can’t possibly have forever. After almost losing the girl, Hutton decides to fight for Ally. It’s then that Ally confides she too has not stopped thinking about Hutton for a moment that they have been apart. But does the Monarch have different plans that will forever keep them apart. I absolutely loved seeing Ethan & Singer and Bennett was incredible in this story. Family is the central focus and important to both Hutton & Ally.
“I love her. I love her spontaneity. I love her thoughtfulness. I love the anger that drives her. Determination. Passion. Whiplash moods. I love everything about her. And because of that, I will be there for my girl however she needs me.” Be prepared to be incredibly swooned!!!!
Princes far from charming, friends less than friendly and secrets held that could turn worlds upside down. These are just a few of the reasons that this book is so different from others and I loved it. The author took a story and turned it on it’s head. I don’t do spoilers so you’ll have to read the book to see where I’m coming from. She got it right! The scenarios she wrote about captivate you in a way you didn’t see coming. Even though it’s a romance you are kept on your toes and riveted to find out what happens, as well as what has already happened.
Ally Edwards is a force to be reckoned with. She’s strong, smart, funny, beautiful, knows what she wants ( or so she thinks) and she’s in love. However, she has secrets and decisions that affect her career as well as her love life.
Hutton Everest is THE man! He’s the guy every woman wants to know, love, be with, and keep. Hutton is understanding, smart, and rich. He’s forward thinking (which I love). He is the man that gives women hope! Also, he is NO PUSHOVER. That is sexy.
The story has twists and turns you wont see coming. We are lucky enough to meet up with characters from previous books we’ve read and are introduced to new ones who I wouldn’t mind reading about in future books. I’m not sure if that’s going to happen but if the author is reading this I look forward to reading their stories.
The book is very current and forward thinking. It deals with issues that many women face today. I was fascinated with how she brought so much to light and weaved it into such a good book. There’s intrigue, mystery, romance and heat. This book brings the heat and brings it with smiles and swoons. You may even tear up. In other words it brought all the feels.
I read this book very quickly. Like I said the story captivated me and made me it’s prisoner. What a good way to be held at ransom. Do yourself a favor and read this book. Kudos to the author you hit the trifecta on this one: smart, sexy, and romantic. Well done!
Hutton Everest is gorgeous. Rich. A certified player. Then he took one look at a gorgeous woman in a bar, and fell. Boom. Done for. But, not really, because the gorgeous woman isn’t in town permanently. No, she’s just having some fun before she has to go because life. Her life is meant to be the kind we all wish for – full of castles and crowns and fairy tale stuff like that. Of course, Hutton doesn’t know this, and he falls for her, hard. Can a royal be with a commoner, even a rich commoner? Probably not…unless Hutton and Ally fight for their love. Stand up to her distant parents and fight. Fight for each other and themselves.
Bad Reputation is probably the best thing by S.L. Scott that I’ve ever read, and I’ve read a lot of GREAT, EXCELLENT stuff by her. But this? This is even better. It takes the royal romance and turns it on its head in the best possible way. It takes the billionaire romance and turns it on its head, too. Hutton is soooo swoony. He’s definitely an Everest. But the best kind of Everest. He’s super smart, and when he loves, he loves hard and doesn’t mess around, even though what he and Ally had started out as just some fun. And Ally? Ooooh, she’s amazing! Talk about a heroine for the ages. She’s what all heroines (royals and otherwise) should be – sweet, strong, sassy and head over heels in love with her man. The man she brought to his knees just by being her awesome self. I about cried when they were apart, but thank God the author didn’t keep them apart for so long that I was screaming or anything. Seriously though, Bad Reputation now has the title of being my favorite S.L. Scott story. It’s sexy, it’s emotional, and it’s just so damn sweet and swoony that I almost can’t stand it. Kudos Suzie on this sweet, sexy fairy tale!
5 SEXY FAIRYTALE STARS!! I love Fairytales at this time of year and this one is full of feels with lots of sexiness. Ally and Hutton have fabulous story to tell you and I know you will love every word they have to say. These two have a beautiful sexy connection that draws you into their storyland, no body writes scenes like S.L. Scott. Do yourself a favor and read this book.
Well, I LOVED this new release, Bad Reputation by a favorite author, S.L. Scott. She sucked me in again and I was soooo happy to go into this new world with her.
Hutton Everett, ladies man, hot, hunky, tall dark and handsome, sometimes alpha, sometimes sweet has just seen his future across a crowded bar. Beautiful Ally, dressed as Cinderella with her friend, the wicked stepsister at a Halloween party might have just met her Prince Charming, but nothing that perfect can happen to her. She’s hiding her true self, living free for only a little while longer and it has to stay that way. She has another life and pressing obligations along with a duty to her family which will never change. Being attracted to an American she can’t keep is just selfish and wrong.
Hutton knows the mysterious Ally is hiding something about herself but if he pushes too hard, this tentative long distance ‘thing’ might vanish and he is all in now, even though he doesn’t know her well..he knows he wants her, might even love her and he’s not letting her go.
Ally’s big secret comes out as she runs to her preplanned life a world away. Look out girl, Hutton is coming for you so there’s nowhere to hide! He doesn’t shy away from a challenge and what a big one it’s going to be!
You will have to read the details in all their wonderful glory for yourselves but bring the tissues and be prepared to leave your life in the dust while you get down and dirty with Hutton, Ally and a cast of secondary characters that you will love, or hate depending, until the last steamy, delicious page is finally turned. I have a book hangover now from an amazing story that will linger in my mind for a long time. A perfect weekend read that will give you the fairy tale you didn’t know you needed to make you smile! RECOMMEND!
Advanced copy generously given for my honest review.
BAD REPUTATION is a standalone modern day fairy tale. They meet at a Halloween party. She is dressed as a poor Cinderella in a plain brown dress. He wasn’t dressed-up as a character, but somehow she knew fate had brought a Prince Charming. “What’s your name?” He asked. “Ally.” She said. “That is a beautiful name.” Said he. “Thank you. What’s your name?” “I’m Hutton. Hutton Everest.” Some might call it destiny, complete with a fake shoe, but her flat shoe is dropped from her foot, and she points her toes. They were both surprised they were really doing this. Acting out a fairy tale as if it was real in the middle of a bar.
It was more than a one-night for Hutton Everest and Ally Edwards. Even before their first night together was over, they planned to see each other again. How did they know they wanted to see each other again? It was a feeling. There was just something magical. Destiny! But their time together might not end that night at midnight, but there is an expiration date to their ‘perfect’ time together. There are secrets being kept. And even though Ally thinks Hutton is too perfect to be real, she will be gone before the sun rises on their last wonderful night together.
Hutton is the real deal as Prince Charming. His soulmate has left. Things are looking complicated and downright impossible. He is headed to Brudenbourg to the Sutcliffe Castle, to claim Princess Arabelle Allyson Edwards Sutcliffe, also know as Ally Edwards. In line to replace her mother as Queen. The odds of them ever having their Happily Ever After is looking really dim. Hutton is pure awesome and his steady love and patience give Ally the strength to be who she really was meant to be. Loved the story!!
I am already a fan of Suzie’s work. I have read almost all of her books and I loved Everest, so I was excited to see that his brother Hutton was getting a book. I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I started reading but I fell in love right away with Hutton and Ally. She is sassy and sharp, quite the rule breaker and Hutton is strong and sexy with a soft side. I also loved that the Crow Brothers make an appearance as well as Hutton’s brother Ethan. Definitely a fun read.
Let’s just say my heart swelled with love as I read this book. Hutton and Ally’s story is a story of absolute deep soul love. It is about two people that truly will fight for their love and their destiny.
Below is more of my review on my YouTube Channel.
but first here is one quote that I think captures my opinion of Hutton and Ally.
His love is pure, obvious, and not hidden. It’s simple. He’s a man who fell in love with a woman
https://youtu.be/lQ6YkCF4p18
I can’t help it but every time I see the cover Taylor Swift’s song Bad Reputation runs through mind as though it’s the theme song for this book. I almost think it is after reading it.
Bad Reputation brings us Hutton Everest at his best. Like his brother Ethan there’s a lot on the line. He met the one. He fell for her in a crowded bar. That was the easy part. Nothing after that is easy.
It’s not easy but it’s sweet and supporting and everything you want in a partner. Hutton is a keeper – in every way….
Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood
This story is so much more, than just a second chance romance. It shows you that love is important and that you have to follow your heart.
I love Hutton. He is hot and sexy, but most of all he is sweet and considerate when it comes to Ally. He would give her the world if he could.
Ally is an amazing woman figure. She was trained all life to be a queen. She didn’t know anything else. But she wasn’t content with being a good, quiet girl that she was raised to become. I admire her, for her strenght and stubborness. She went to school even though she didn’t have to. But she felt suffocated in their palace. Of course it is big and spacious, but it wasn’t about that. It was about being under control by all means and everywhere she went. And having her life planned ahead.
So when she met Hutton her life changed. For the first time she asked herself what does she want? What does she need?
I am glad that she stood her ground and fought for her wishes and hidden desires.
This book is amazing. It made me on the edge and I really couldn’t put it down. If it weren’t for me, working twelve hours a day, I would certainly read it in one sitting.
Suzie, once again you did it! I love your books. Oooh I almost forgot. I freakin’ loved it when The Crow Brothers were mentioned in the book. It was amazing how she connected them. Really made me remember their hard start and love that they have for each other. And when I was at the 60 or so percent through with reading I wondered, so the book Everest has to do something with these fellas. And of course I was right. Now I need to read that book asap. They seem such a lovely couple.
Enough of my rambling. Off you go, reading this amazing book!
I received a copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I knew I would love Hutton’s story if we ever got it and I wasn’t wrong! This was the perfect modern fairytale for this time of the year — swoony, sexy Hutton and strong-willed, brave feisty Ally. And the chemistry between these two burns the pages! I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just say — buy it and read it and enjoy it! Unique royal romance that’s definitely worth the read!
Omg. I took me a few to gather my thoughts. This is my first Royal romance and I absolutely loved it. As always this author leaves me speechless. She knows how to draw you in with her characters. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. I was addicted to this book right from the start. It only took me a little over a day to devour this incredible story.
Hutton Everest is the brother of the well known Ethan and he is just as popular with the ladies. He can have any girl but only one caught his eye. Hutton is out with the boys and he meets the beautiful Ally. He is head over heels for her. Hutton will do anything for his Ally girl. They are inseparable and they feel like they have found their one. Then one day Ally just gets up and leaves him there broken hearted. He wants to find out why she left and the reason is a complete shock. A few months later these two collide once again. Hutton knows deep down this woman is his soulmate but does she feel the same?
Ally was just looking for a night to let her hair down and have some fun. She was not expecting the very handsome Ethan to sweep her off her feet. Ally knows that she has duties to her family she can’t get out of. She just wants to be a girl but she is not just an ordinary girl. Ally is a Royal and she can’t have anyone messing up what she is born to do, rule. She leaves Hutton before things get to hard for her. Ally goes back to her home and she is shocked that Hutton comes back to try to win her back. Will Ally get her happily ever after or will her dreams be crushed by her family?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, mystery, and secrets. You will fall in love with these characters. Ally is a beautiful woman that just wants to live her own life. She absolutely loves Hutton but she has duties she must do for her country. Hutton knows what he wants and he will do anything to get it. The way he treats Ally will make you swoon. He is a true Everest. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your toes curl. This talented author will have at the edge of your seats all the way until the end. She puts in some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. This book deserves a crown. I can’t wait to see what she will have for us next.
*3,5-4 stars*
I really don’t know how to start this review as I’ve loved every book I’ve read by this author and she’s one of my favorites; one who I will always buy her books and read but somehow this one didn’t really fully capture me. Don’t get me wrong, I think it was a different story than what I’ve read before but I just didn’t feel it entirely, there was something that I seemed to be missing. Even though the more I read, the more I started enjoying it and got more of a feel. I’d definitely still recommend it.
Hutton and Ally have this chemistry that they’ve never felt before. The more time they spend together, the deeper their connection seems to get but Ally hides a big part of herself and when she needs to leave town for good. Hutton doesn’t have any choice but to try and move on but even though some time passes and he tries to make a new start, he can’t seem to forget about her. When he finds out her true identity, he’ll try to reconnect but it isn’t easy when Ally is destined for something big in her future. Will both succeed to find their way?…
