4 1/2 stars
A great story that had characters with wonderful chemistry. I was immersed into the story immediately and I must admit I was ready to say goodbye when I reach the end. Humorous, entertaining and imaginative, I loved this story.
Bad Love is something wonderfully different
Bad Love is a book that you think is one thing and turns into something else. The story of Kendall’s background tugs on your heartstrings as she is a young woman who was ostracized by her community for making a decision that was right for her and her young son. So she has had to make a life for herself and support her son the best she is able to. That meant coming to NYC and working hard to build a career. But she still lives with the guilt and shame of one decision when she was 18 years old that ended up costing her so much, but also gave her the greatest gift ever.
Logan is an interesting character in that he is the opposite of Kendall. He was brought up by a strong mother who taught him to respect women. He does but he also does not do relationships as he he is not good at them. So with his charm and being handsome he is never without a companion when he wants. Logan also has a talent to betting and never losing.
Now Logan has made a bet that he cannot afford to lose. He needs help and turns to the marketing company that Kendall works for. Kendall is assigned this account and they are now working together. The issue is that Logan being Logan starts to awaken feelings in Kendall that she has put on lock-down for years. And Kendall being the beautiful young woman she is definitely attracts Logan but she will not give in as easily as most women usually do.
Piper Lawson has written and interesting and fascinating story with POV’s from both Kendall and Logan. The story is still romance and love but the underlying premise is different from most books and it is refreshing to read something different. I enjoyed Bad Love and recommend it.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Bad Love by Piper Lawson is the second standalone romance in her Modern Romance series. A story of romance least expected between Logan, the playboy heir and Kendall the single mother marketing guru that is assigned to help him win a bet that, if he loses, put’s his family’s legacy at risk. Well-written and well-paced this was a great story. The secondary characters were quirky and real. Rory was awesome – Bloody Hell – and I thoroughly enjoyed this. This is my first book by Piper Lawson but it won’t be my last. Enjoy!
Hunter was his own man with very little responsibilities while Kendall was a single mom carving out a life for her and her son. They are brought together by a bet Hunter made during a poker game with his friends, a bet which could cost him his share in the family company should he be on the loosing side. But then the sparks started to fly between him and Kendall, a woman he would not normally be interested in. The chemistry between these two are off the charts. Another well written book from Piper Lawson. I received an ARC copy and are leaving a voluntary review.
This was so great!! It definitely lived up to book one. Logan and Kendall were FIRE. Rory was such a sweet kid and I loved reading about Logan and Kendall falling in love. Piper Lawson nails it again. Monty’s story please?

Smart And Sexy! A Little Hard To Buy Into The Love Story At First, But It Soon Pulls You Into Kendall and Hunter’s Deep Connection.
Logan Hunter, twenty-nine, loves women. They fascinate him. He appreciates that women see things a little differently than men do. Because of his strong mother and pioneering grandmother, he has a profound respect for a woman’s abilities. He helps his mom make calls for her charity and takes his grandmother to brunch twice a month. When he is with a woman he treats her exceedingly well, whether for an hour or a week – but never longer because he isn’t good at the hard stuff. His enthusiastic personality and charming cockiness never fail to win people over. His model looks and tongue ring make women swoon and blush.
Hunter hasn’t lost a bet in five years, which is fortunate because he cannot turn one down. For him and his college buddy Nelson, who both hail New York’s finest self-made families, Thursday night poker represents their biggest achievement. They live much as if they were still frat brothers. Hunter’s first mistake is to suggest he can pleasure ten thousand women. But when Nellie turns that into a bet, Hunter cannot help himself when he puts his ownership of his grandmother’s brewery on the line. His impulsiveness causes him to neglect the first rule of gambling: never bet something you cannot afford to lose.
Kendall Sullivan, twenty-six, is the daughter of a pastor – a PK. She is also a single mom to eight year old Rory. She separated from her ex-husband six years ago, when she moved to New York with Rory and accepted a job at Closer, a marketing company. She earned her rise from account assistant to senior account manager in five years with her talent for problem solving.
Plagued with guilt for disappointing her religious family with her shot-gun wedding and subsequent divorce, Kendall lives a simple life. Although lonely sometimes, Kendall has her priorities locked down. She doesn’t need a man, and it is for the best since she won’t make another mistake, and won’t expose Rory to any transitory male figures.
When Kendall is assigned a new client, she is immediately out of her comfort zone. Not only is Logan Hunter insanely handsome, he wants her to sell ten thousand vibrators for him in ninety days. With the promise of a bonus if she delivers, Kendall quickly gets down to business, but she can’t escape Hunter’s sexy gaze. The pair quickly acknowledges their undeniable chemistry and tries to remain professional, but that doesn’t last long.
Hunter and Kendall’s story sneaks up and hooks you before the end. The beginning is awkward. The chemistry is immediate, but some conversations feel premature. The dialogue feels like it jumps ahead a few steps. The relationship does build, however, and eventually it comes across as authentic and beautiful. Before it ends, it is easy to fall in love with Kendall and Hunter. They deserve their HEA!
Some may object to the portrayal of Kendall’s religious family, which comes across as shallow, unsupportive, and judgemental. They are flat. They represent the worst kind of negative Christian stereotype. They don’t ascribe to the “What Would Jesus Do?” mainstream.
This book is part of the Modern Romance series. Wes and Rena from “Easy Love” appear in the story. Ben and Daisy of “Twisted Love” are present, and hints of their forthcoming love story are evident.
Hunter and Kendall’s story is smart and entertaining. It is well-written with only a few errors. The plot is somewhat simple, and the characters are complex. Beneath his outward confidence, Hunter harbors significant self-doubt. He holds onto guilt. Kendall is surprising strong, but guilt also holds her back. There are a number of supporting characters that merit their own story. Nellie would make an excellent candidate! The POV alternates between Hunter and Kendall. I rate this book four stars.

All the feels are packed into this delightful read. I absolutely loved the original story line and how the author did such an amazing job developing these characters and fully bringing the reader into this love story. While I know this is fiction, I felt the journey to be realistic and reflective of how people react and interact.
Loved loved loved
Meet Kendell and Logan and their story all starts with a bet. Kendall is a pastor’s kid and a single mom, she finds Logan to be a huge temptation but can she resist. More importantly, does she really want to? Logan has bet his family’s legacy on pleasing ten thousand women. He is a playboy but he is fiercely attracted to Kendall. Does she hold the power to change him? This was a very witty, funny, sexy story with two equally great characters that fuel the story. This was a quick read for me as I enjoyed the book.

LOVED Logan and Kendall. I love Piper Lawson’s books and this one is no exception….steamy sexy times, whitty banter, and great story line.
“Bad Kendall is out of the box, and she’s calling the shots—at least the ones where nakedness is involved.”
Read it…right now. You’ll love it!
Sexy, and entertaining!
This is the story of Logan, and Kendall, two very opposite people, who when they meet have a fiery attraction, that neither one of them can forget. Logan is the typical entitle playboy, but when he get himself, in over his head, he ends up seeking out the help of Kendall. This was a great read, the characters are well written, and they have explosive chemistry, this book was sweet, emotional, passionate, and steamy! 4.5 Stars
I must admit that the blurb of this one caused me to raise an eyebrow, and I began reading it with some trepidation, lured into doing so only because I had read and loved many of Ms. Lawson’s books in the past. You see, I typically avoid stories that reek of family drama and weak characters with no backbone to stand up to overbearing exes or parents, and Kendall’s divorced, single-mom, preacher’s-kid status made me think there would be plenty of that kind of thing here. What I didn’t take into account, and should have based on what I know of Ms. Lawson’s writing, is that she doesn’t go down typical roads. And thank goodness for that. As a result, I was able to enjoy this book tremendously, and I was so glad that I didn’t let my preconceived notions scare me away. I loved how Kendall and Logan both developed individually, and while doing so, found that they were perfect for each other. This story about so-called “bad” love will leave you feeling good.
A sincere thank you to the author for providing an ARC for review.
Absolutely phenomenal book. I was immediately hooked from the beginning! So well written and the characters are so easy to fall in love with!
This is such a fun romp with more of Piper Lawson’s awesome characters! It’s funny, sweet, and brings depth to a quirky situation. I love the chemistry between Kendall and Logan. And the supporting characters bring such richness to the story. A definite must-read!
From the moment Kendall and Logan met, these two had a connection that was captivating. Logan seems like that self-assured guy with his charismatic personality and can-do attitude, but he often sells himself short. His family owns Hunters Cross and he works there but not doing the job he is supposed to. I was surprised by his lack of confidence in running the Marketing department but yet he has amazing ideas to push their product into the future. At his weekly poker game, he makes a reckless bet and now needs to sell 10000 vibrators in 3 months or lose his stake in the family business. Kendall is a very focused single mother that works hard to ensure her son has a great life. She also keeps a journal of activities she wants to do which pushes her out of her comfort zone. When her latest project ends up being helping Logan sell the vibrators, well, she is truly shocked. Logan truly pushes her out of her comfort which has her listening to “Bad Kendall” and embracing a part of herself that she has buried. Rory, Kendall’s son, is a beautiful light in this journey. His love of cooking is a wonderful thing and when Kendall realizes Logan truly sees her son for what he is passionate about, her walls to keep him out of her life truly begin to crumble. The real challenge is can Logan embrace responsibility and realize a relationship with Kendall is what he needs in his life. I enjoyed their journey and loved the layers that each character has with the issues they faced in their past that shaped who they were when they met. Even better is how they help each other reevaluate these areas to work towards something stronger. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
An excellent story. Kendall has put her life on hold to raise her son. Logan has been a player all his life. This time he has taken a bet that could ruin him. Kendall and Logan have lived the opposite lives. Their attraction to each other is instant. The story digs deep into why we do the things we do and how our past can affect our present. This is an awesome story about fighting for the things you want and believe in. The conversations are witty and funny especially her son. This is a truly modern love story of bringing out the best in the people you love.
Bad love was everything but bad. A great story between Logan guy who is on an important crossroads and hardworking single mother Kendall. They meet because a stupid bet and Kendall is doing everything that Logan wins. In the meantime, the feelings developed between them that is deeper than just a fling. Will Logan mature and will Kendall let her past mistake to ruin her chance for true love
? You will find that if you buy the book and read it yourself. Both characters great developed, likable. I loved Logan and how he develops. I loved the slow burn between them, the sexual tension. I also loved that book portraits that it is not late and impossible to find love again. I want to thank Author Piper Lowson who made it possible and provided ARC for me to read it.
WOW – This is an amazing modern day romance! Drama, intrigue, excitement, humour, romance, witty banter, and lots of passion and chemistry – you will find it all in this book and what a book it is! This book is so well written and well developed it is guaranteed to leave you wanting more. The characters are amazing and strong and I could not help but love them. I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. This book is a MUST READ!

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book at first. It took me a couple of chapters to really get into it, but once I did, I couldn’t put the book down! I loved Logan & Kendall! They’ve got this insane chemistry and don’t want to pursue it, but there was no denying that chemistry and they both acted on it! I loved their banter and how Logan loved to make Kendall blush. I also loved Rory! He was adorable!!
This was my first book by Piper, but it definitely won’t be my last!!!
