Wow!! This one had me reading flat-out and they would have to pry this book from my cold dead fingers before I would stop to sleep. Every single word was scarily believable. The dive into the human psyche was deep and dark, but sucked me in every step of the way. Tens across the board.
Excellent psychological thriller. I enjoyed every page .
This is the first Douglas Clegg novel I have read and I look forward to reading more. I particularly enjoyed the family dynamics of the story. I don’t know if Mr. Clegg has kids, but he certainly writes like he does. It’s this familial bond that makes the stakes in this story so dire. We relate. Protect family at all costs. My only minor criticism …
It was too disturbing to continue to read
really enjoyed this book. Silence of the Lambs inspired. Really thought it moved at a good pace, and that it was pretty believable. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Definitely worth the time, and it will go quickly when you are reading this.
I really enjoyed the book and could not wait to get back to reading it. It was a easy read if you like this kind of book.
a great read, page turner, read it way into the night
I will not forget this authors name! A haunting scary story that might keep you up at night wondering if there are people like Agnes Hatcher that really exist. Starts out gruesome and doesn’t let up. And then there is Trey and the way his mind works, makes you think about him a lot too.
A really, really excellent read. Suspense and intrigue all the way with fully believable characters. Loved every moment of this book as it took me on a journey where I fully felt all of the emotions of the main characters. Brilliant! Well written and proof-read, congratulations!
This was a horror genre so I wasn’t surprised at all the blood and gore but it was handled quite well. There was lots of murders and lots of bloodshed but I didn’t have nightmare so I’m counting that as a score.
I found this book hard to put down. I enjoyed the unpredictably of the characters and all the twists and turns. I can’s wait to read more by this author.
very suspenseful
This is not a book for the most part, especially if it involves any patients from Darden State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. It is enjoyable when it is just Trey, his wife Carly, daughter Teresa and son Mark, the Campbell family. Trey has worked at Darden State for over a decade. He is a psych tech, supervisor who would have gone on to …
Good reading!
The reason for the one star is the first few chapters spooked me so badly, I could not finish the story. That is how the writing draws you in. But I opted to not have nightmares.
Good read !
Couldn’t put it down. Original story, beautifully written. Cant wait to read the others.
Twisted murderer!! Couldn’t stop reading it. I read it in less than a day.
Karma, murdering psychiatric patient on the loose and Jack the Ripper!
Scary but probably realistic look into the mind of a sociopath.
