From bestselling author Charleigh Rose comes an angsty, new adult standaloneLoMoving to River’s Edge was supposed to be a fresh start.Away from chaos.Away from bad influences and worse relationships.All I wanted was to give my little brother more of a chance than I ever had.It should’ve been simple.I didn’t count on my transgressions following me.And I definitely didn’t count on meeting Dare.… me.
And I definitely didn’t count on meeting Dare.
Tall, tortured, and tattooed.
A Lost Boy through and through.
Falling for someone like him was asking for heartache.
But I was a sucker for punishment.
Dare
I had a routine.
Eat, work, sleep, repeat, only ever doing the bare minimum to keep up appearances.
I kept my circle small and my guard high.
I spent years making sure I didn’t repeat the mistakes of my past, forming an impenetrable layer of ice around my heart.
Then Logan showed up in my town, in my tattoo shop, testing my patience along with my self-control.
She was fire and I was ice.
I should’ve stayed away.
But I had been cold for far too long.

Beautifully broken girl meets a beautifully broken boy. Not your average couple. Usually you get all the hype if one person saving another. I love how this time, Dare and Lo save each other. Sexy, tattooed and brooding, Dare is the ultimate bad boy. Logan is the sexy girl who trying to get her life on track. I love how it’s not all heart and flowers, it’s gritty and takes work. Once again Charleigh has wrote a book that makes you want to not want to put it down and become one with the characters. The sexy scenes are icing on the cake! Lol
Ever since devouring Bad Habit last year I have been highly anticipating Dare’s story because this man right here has been a mystery that I have been craving to solve! Charleigh Rose girl I didn’t think it was possible, but I believe Dare might have wiggled his way deep in my heart and kicked both Asher (Bad Habit) and Pierce (Misbehaved) down a notch. Of course I still love those two and they will always hold a special place in my heart, but DARE…oh my freaking goodness..DARE! He is my new addiction and I need more of him right this very instance (even if he’s just a secondary character) to cure the pain in my chest…
Dare is a dark and mysterious man that needs the perfect woman to come along and show him that love really does exist, even if he doesn’t believe he deserves it. That brings us to Logan, or Lo as everyone calls her. Like Dare she didn’t have the best life growing up and struggles to believe that she deserves happiness in her life after her last failed relationship. She is only 21 years old, but already has lived a life worth a thousand lives. She is so selfless and has one of the biggest hearts! Lo has been raising her younger brother, Jess, as if he is her own and she has no second thoughts about giving up something she wants in order to provide for him the best she can. This lady right here is hands down one of the strongest female characters I have ever read. I don’t know what it is with Charleigh Rose’s female leads, but I’ve got lady crushes on all of them and I am not even afraid to admit it!
Bad Intentions is one of those stories that will captivate you whole body and soul right from the very beginning and hold on tight page after page. If you plan on starting this book right before bed just prepare yourself because once you meet Dare and Lo there is no humanely possible way you are going to be able to put down this book until you reach the end. Once again Charleigh Rose is the QUEEN of emotions and I certainly felt an abundance of them while inhaling this beautifully captivating story!

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! Hello, my sexy Dare. You swoon mofo. Where have you been all my life? You can come and find me whenever you want and we can be antisocial together.
I want my very own Dare. He was EVERYTHING. Growing up the way he did, it was no wonder he’s been as closed off as you see. Coupled with a trade by that happened with his last foster home, that’s a recipe for the world’s most lonely and anti social human being. He is what you describe as a beautiful and caring but tortured soul.
Then comes in our heroine. Logan, or Lo, as she prefers to be called, is this amazing woman. She’s had such a terrible life but has never let her circumstances get the better of her. She remains this strong and independent woman. Always putting her brother and her first. You’re talking about neglectful and drug addicted parents, abusive ex’s, horrible, horrible living situations but she never stayed down. One step in front of the other for her and her brother Jesse. She’s had to take the role of sister, friend, mother, main provider, and anything else needed for Jess and her surviving.
Lo gets to meet our sexy Dare while job hunting after moving to Rivers Edge. Let’s just say that it’s not the best first impression for either person. But, all that changes fairly quickly.
These two have so much chemistry, it’s literally zapping you from the pages. I’m talking about several wardrobe changes needed, attacking husbands or boyfriends late at night type of hot. Charleigh Rose sure does know how to write sexual tension, sexual encounters, sexual EVERYTHING.
Apart from that, Dare and Lo get each other on a more bare level. They both come from broken, tortured pasts and have issues with trust. But, the love, affection, understanding is so beautiful written between these two character. You’re swooning and falling in love right along with the pages. It really is a great love story (not to mention ridiculously sexy and hot) where two broken souls find each other and mend each other.
I can’t wait for everyone else to meet our sexy tattoo artist Dare and the beautiful and strong Lo.
Good job, Charleigh Rose!!! This was definitely worth the 5 stars.
The characters in this book just work together. The romance isn’t head over heals. It is more mature, because of the characters backgrounds.
There are some twists and turns that you don’t really see coming.
I couldn’t wait to start this after meeting the hero in the first book of this series and Charleigh Rose did not disappoint with his story. I loved it. The quiet, loner bad boy who’s not really a bad boy at all and the girl who always rises above meet and fall hard against much resistance. The plot was simple and inviting, engaging from the very beginning. The connection between the characters was intense and perfect. The secondary characters mixed in perfectly to make the story that much richer. And the romance was sexy, sweet, and satisfying. Complicated histories provided for perfect conflicts to the broody hero and sassy heroine. I’m stumbled across this series in LJ Shen’s FB group and I’m so happy I did. Bad boys who fall hard for the tough chicks who refuse to be low are a definite favorite. I look forward to more.
So I really bloody loved “Bad Intentions” like so so much.
It was my first book by this author and I was really impressed with its ability to reel me in and keep my attention on target throughout.
This has to be up there as one of my top contemporary reads of this year.
It was such an unexpected gem, taking me completely unawares and I am immensely glad I got the opportunity to experience this great piece of romantic fiction.
So I really connected with both of the main characters here.
Finding both Lo and Dare, to be in themselves such inspiring and down to earth individuals that I couldn’t help rooting for them all the way.
First “Lo” herself, she had such a grown-up responsible attitude to life.
A total product of her upbringing.
Having to be a mother to her brother and take on such big responsibilities at such a young age has definitely shaped her character, in a very positive way indeed.
Then there is Dare, his past still impacting on his present and future.
Closed off in a way that is not healthy he is totally unprepared for the whirlwind that is Lo entering his well-ordered small-town life.
Lo looking for a job to support her family wanders into Dare’s Tatoo shop and as these two connect for the first time, the match here is lit sparking a red-hot attraction that is as inevitable as it is hot.
And these two sure do set the pages alight with their raw chemistry.
There is nothing major shocking in “Bad Intentions” narrative this is more about love, life, trust and loss and two lost souls connecting on a much deeper plain.
There is plenty of drama and humour here also to keep the reader engrossed, alongside a fabulous supporting cast that does a great job of also keeping things fresh and interesting.
This is told in dual POV and at heart, it’s “Bad Intentions” ultimate simplicity that actually calls to me and though part of a series, this, in my opinion, can totally be read as a standalone.
I did and followed along easily.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Bad Intentions (Bad Love)” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

I’ve been waiting for the next book in this series since I finished reading Bad Habit. I was so glad when Charleigh Rose announced all these amazing characters were getting their own love stories and I was definitely curious about the icy tattooed God, Dare (one of Asher’s best friends, the hero of Bad Habit). And since I loved the first book that much, I had high expectations for this one and I am so glad to now say they were reached!
Bad Intentions is the second installment in Charleigh’s Bad Love series and, as I said, now it’s time for Dare to find his soul mate. Dare and Lo both have very difficult and messed up aspects from their past. Lo is struggling to give her brother Jess the life he deserves with the very little they have. It’s after they are all alone that they want to escape that past life and now they find themselves in River’s Edge. Lo and Dare meet for the first time and everything starts to turn upside down with their instant chemistry. Dare is also very affected by his past life, even though he has a pretty decent life right now being an owner of a tattoo shop and his good friends. He still is a broken man. Will these two broken souls fix together? Of course, when love gets in the mix!
I haven’t spent more than five minutes with this girl, but I can already tell she’s the type of crazy I need to stay far away from.
I am becoming addicted to this series! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved the first installment. I connected instantly with all the awesome characters Charleigh has created and Dare was no exception when I first read about him in Bad Habit. Now we also meet the one who will change his life forever and boy, they are so good together! Even though at the start these two are not ready to accept the connection between them, it is obvious they will not be able to fight those feelings. The sexual tension is palpable on every scene and the icy aspects in both their lives start to melt when Dare and Lo are together.
“Remember when I said I didn’t have bad intentions?”
“Yes,” she whines, moving faster, and I feel like I could come from this alone.
“I changed my mind.”
She’s wormed her way through the frozen cracks, and she’s been slowly melting the ice inside me ever since.
Yes, of course they are obstacles between them. The past keeps making appearances and secrets are kept. That always complicates things but what do those aspects have against the love that starts growing between these two characters? Absolutely nothing. Dare and Lo start living a beautiful relationship: they are always there for each other, they talk about their pasts, they have a mind-blowing and smoking hot chemistry and love always wins, am I right? When all those feelings start growing between this couple, it was even more amazing. Lo and Dare are amazing together and I am so glad they found their happy ending. I would have loved a longer epilogue though!
What happens when fire meets ice? Fire wins. Every time.
Therefore, my rating for Bad Intentions is 4.5 STARS because it was a fantastic addition to the Bad Love series. I loved this new couple and how they fight against their pasts to be together and to be happy. If you enjoyed the first installment, you’ll love Dare and Lo’s love story! They have an awesome relationship and their connection made me melt all over the place. I seriously cannot wait to see whose story is next, I am sure Charleigh Rose will not disappoint! Highly recommend reading this one!
I knew I would love this one as much as the first!! Remember do not judge a book by its cover.
Dare is a HAWT AF tattoo artist with a past and Lo is trying to recover from her upbringing and take care of her brother as her parents should have done. She grew up quick when her mother was not around to be a parent as she should have been.
These 2 are soo good together and find that they are feeling things they both are not use to when they are with each other. I loved how once they finally broke thorugh each others walls they found the family they both has been craving.
4.5 stars
Wow!! What an intense and amazing story!! Definitely was excited to get to know Dare better after being introduced to him in Bad Habit……and I was not disappointed at all by the story we were given. Dare is a hot, sexy, brooding tattoo artist, but what I didn’t expect was the heart of gold underneath the surface. Dare seriously had me swooning when he thought not only of Lo, but her brother as well. Plenty of hot and steamy moments between Dare & Lo, as the connection between them was on fire!!
Hoping we get more stories from some of the other characters in River’s Edge as I just enjoy all of them so much!
“Dare. That’s not a name. That’s a warning.”
I thought I was mesmerized by Bad Habit…Dare surpassed my insta-love that got me in the feels with the first book. Broody, moody, broken from a past that would make the strong cringe, Dare is the perfect storm of unpredictability and the sweetest thing to be covered in tattoos. And then in sweeps Lo…the perfect balance of adorable snark, and open vulnerability, she caught my heart from get and I just wanted it all to work out so bad for them. I’m not giving away ANYTHING…but you’ll have to work for it.
“…because girls like her-the beautiful ones with daddy issues-are pure chaos. And chaos is my kryptonite.”
I fell right along with them and with everything coming their way like it was, there were times it seemed like I was going to have to throw my kindle in frustration at the powers that be for getting in their way of being together. I love that I went from laughing one minute, to heavy-hearted, to fanning myself once things imploded between them. It just had everything! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!
“I’ll sit with you in the dark. I’m not a fan of the sun anyway,” she says, yawning.
“You are the sun.”
~~~Erika, Book Haven Book Blog
She was his sun when he was in the dark
Two people beaten down by their pasts that they refused to let it keep them down. Both fighters forged by necessity and working hard to move on from the past and make a better life.
This story was so full of pain and love. Lo’s new in town and looking for a job. It’s just her and her younger brother, so she has responsibilities for more than just herself. Dare turns her away at his tattoo shop Bad Intentions, but a party with mutual friends throws them back together. Eventually Dare hires Lo when she has no other options.
Their attraction was a slow burn into an inferno! They both tried to stay away, but bad idea or not it was inevitable! Dare comes into her life when she needs someone the most. He has been living in the dark so long, he’s finally found his sun and some peace. However, ghosts from his past continue to haunt him. Dare has to decide if he is ready to share his past, so that him and Lo can have a future.
Lo was self-sacrificing. No cost too high to give her brother a better life. But she needed someone. Dare was all quiet and withdrawn, the outsider who liked to just be alone. They found hope and life with each other.
I devoured Lo and Dare’s story. It was filled with passion, harsh realities of life, love and forgiveness. It was a beautiful, so sexy and some swoon-worthy moments! And Dare’s broodiness, tattoos and protective alpha side make him the perfect book boyfriend.
“Sometimes it’s hard for me to come out of the darkness. But I’m trying.” – Dare
“I’ll sit with you in the dark. I’m not a fan of the sun anyway.” – Lo
“You are the sun” – Dare
Good job, Charleigh Rose!!! This was definitely worth the 5 stars.
Five hot-and-cold stars! This book is a kryptonite for those who love bad boys!
Holy sweet and fluffy unicorns! Reading Charleigh’s books has becoming my new favourite hobby. Bad Intentions is a captivating, haunting, page-turner book wrapped up in a sinful cover that had me drooling over like a thirsty woman. I should not have been surprised in the least because Charleigh never disappoints her readers. Excellent book!
Damn it! I freaking loved this book so much. It was worthy of every second, minute and hour I spent while reading it. This book is literally like delicately melting ice. The pull and push between the main characters was a delicious battle to watch. I’m still reeling from it.
This book is beautifully addictive. I didn’t want to end it. I felt deep into the story as if I was another character. That feeling is experienced when the author has the talent to drawn you to the story with the sensuality of her words. Charleigh’s writing is magisterially sensuous, smooth and intense. She delivered a masterpiece with the right amount of passion, love, lust and chaos! The plot is incredibly well developed. This book has become my kryptonite. Let me correct that last sentence… Charleigh’s books have become my kryptonite.
The characters are strongly complex and a little bit broken. Life has been their enemy but fate will fix that because after all everyone deserves a little bit of compassion, love and a second chance. Lo and Dare are fire and cold. Both had a gone through a lot. However they manage to survive because they are fighters. Lo had to mature faster because having an addict mother is hard and consuming. Taking care of her brother will be her priority. Moving with her father will turn upside down her world. Not because of moving but because of a sinful tattooed guy!
Dare is hot AF bad boy! I never have liked tattooed man until him. He is sin personified. His lonely tendencies only give him a mysterious halo. Like you want to discover each sinful secret he is hiding. But at the same time it make you want to hug him so badly and melt the ice that is guarding his heart. Jo will be the only one who will go under his skin. Her sweetness and fierceness are something that will leave Dare drooling over. She is a fighter like him. She is not like the others. She is fire.
The attraction between them will be unbearable, strong and deep; something that they have never experienced before. Jo is chaos. Dare is bane. Jo is warmth as sunlight. Dare is a loner wolf ready to devour his prey. They are broken but they will fix each other no matter if they don’t know what needs to be fixed.
I totally love that Lo, the heroine of this book, is a strong woman not the typical damsel in distress. She is more that a delicate flower. She rises from the worst and keeps fighting like an amazone ready to fight any war.
If you have a soft spot for bad boys and strong heroines, this book is perfect for you! It’s a must red! You should not miss this one. Go and grab your copy right now! Five stars are not enough to rate this book. I would give this one many stars. From the earth to the moon and back!
To say I was excited and anxious to get my hands on this book would be an understatement. I have been a fan of all of Charleigh Rose’s books and the sneak peaks we have been getting of Dare and Logan’s story had me salivating for more.
Dare is a sexy and mysterious tattoo artist who goes out of his way to guard his heart. When Lo walks into his shop, he knows he should run far, far away, but the attraction between them is instantaneous. Lo is my favorite kind of heroine. She is feisty, opinionated and more than a match for Dare. Despite all of the walls he has up because of his past, Lo breaks them down one by one. Both Lo and Dare have painful pasts and that leads to an emotional read that is liberally sprinkled with the sexiness one comes to associate with Charleigh Rose. This story had everything in it, exciting moments, sexy moments, emotional moments and wonderful dialogue that will make you want to reread several scenes. This book was more than worth the wait and I look forward to seeing what the next book in the Bad Love series will bring.
I have been dying to read Dare’s book forever and Bad Intentions was amazing! I loved loved Dare. Sexy, broody, tatted and swoony, yes please!! I want my own Dare!! I loved Lo, she was sweet, strong, feisty and I loved her relationship with her brother Jess. The tension and chemistry was amazing and so hot! The sexy scenes were extremely explosive! I loved loved them together! They were perfect for each other! I loved all the secondary characters! I need a book about Jess! I loved this book so much! Definitely a must read!
STORY:
This felt like a slow burn-ish book. It’s either that or the pace was low key chill. However, I can honestly say, it was not bad, but it wasn’t awesomely great, but it still caught my interest and I liked it.
Lo has not had the best life and, at only 21, has been the mother figure for her little brother. Needing a fresh start, she moved to River Edge where she meets Dare. Lo was a character that in some ways you can relate to. She isn’t prefect, but is also figuring it out. Dare, wow super grumpy and moody, but it’s oddly sexy on him. Both characters have a hard past that they are trying to forget and overcome, and they compliment each other so well while doing this. I think for me, I enjoyed seeing the transformation of Dare in this book. Seeing a bit of him opening to Lo and doing things he doesn’t normally do was really nice to see.
I felt like we got a lot of Lo’s past, but it felt like Dare’s past was thrown in at the end, and it was rushed. Even the epilogue to me felt a bit not complete. I think the epilogue should have been included in the last chapter and a different epilogue should have been provided.
SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
Sexually, I love Lo’s and Dare’s chemistry in the bedroom. It wasn’t anything crazy, but it was spicy the way they go at it.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
So many characters. I did not read the first book in the series, so I came in this not familiar with the other characters Briar and Asher. I like them and their friendship with Dare. Jess, Lo’s brother, really enjoyed his character as he definitely added to this story. Lo’s mother, what a piece of work.
OVERALL:
A nice storytelling for me. The ending could have been better, but overall, I was satisfied.
TRIGGERS: drug addiction, manipulation and abuse of power by a husband.
****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
““I think he’s broken, Jess. He’s broken, but he still tries to save me every single day.”
In the second book in the Bad Love series (which can also be read as as standalone), we get to read about Dare Adair. The mysterious and very attractive tattoo artist at Rivers Edge who featured in Bad Habit as Asher’s best friend.
Dare Adair has been an orphan since he was 4. This has bought a lot of trauma and distrust throughout his life however he has not let him derail anything and everything he has worked for. Owning the local tattoo shop in the main part of town, his business is booming when it is tourist season. But he also gets an outlook on the new comers into town, including 21 year old Logan and her 16 year old brother, Jesse.
Logan and Jesse have a mum addicted to meth, and a dad who doesn’t want to know them. When their mum is finally locked up, they adventure down to Rivers Edge to stay with their “dad” while they get back on their feet. Logan then looks for two jobs and ends up working for the local Restaurant & Bar, as well as the tattoo shop thanks to Dare.
Dare and Lo have an instant attraction and can’t deny they want each other. But as they are both running from their past, they find themselves under estimating themselves if they truly deserve the love they both feel.
This was an emotional read, but also steamy. Who knew quiet wallpaper Dare – Would be such a wild boy in the sack 😉
Excited to go on and read about Jesse!
Overall; 4/5 Stars with 4/5 Steam.
Pretty sure I’ve fallen head over heels in love with Dare! This series has had not one but two damaged boys with troubled pasts and I’m here for it.
Dare is a tattooed, gorgeous, blue-eyed business owner with a dont give a shit attitude, but hidden underneath his facade is warmth and kindness.
Lo and her brother Jesse are new in town and only looking for a fresh start. This girl can’t seem to catch a break until she finally lands a job next door to Dare’s tattoo parlor. Only things don’t go so well during Dare and Lo’s first introduction. This woman keeps her head held high despite her troubles and her maternal instincts are very admirable. She’ll do anything to provide for herself and her brother.
I loved the chemistry between Dare and Lo and their small circle of friends made me love this story even more. Let’s not forget about the steam in this book because those sex scenes were HOTTTT!!!
If you have a chance, listen to the audiobook. Lance and Jennifer did a fantastic job at bringing this book to life!
Such an enthralling read. I’d been waiting for this baby forever and it definitely lived up to the hype. Take the broken bad boy and put him together with a sassy but strong spitfire who’s been just as broken throughout her life and create an explosion of lust, love & loyalty. This author knows her stuff when it comes to creating an angsty love story that will have you falling faster than you can say, “eureka”. Definitely recommend this baby!
Bad Intentions is the second novel in the Bad Love series. And I. Loved. This. Book.
Unlike Bad Habit, Bad Intentions is filled with swoony moments plus one hundred. Wow. This book will definitely leave you gasping for air and something to cool you off. That’s how hot this sizzling book is. Thank you Charleigh.
Lo is a heroine that you will root for. She is such an amazing character.
Dare, on the other hand, is Mr. Opposite. He has an aura full of mystery.
This is a book that will keep you turning from the very first page. A story line full of intrigue and complexity. This is just a good read! This can be read as a standalone but if you have the opportunity to read book one: Bad Habit, please do so!
