I met his smirk and said, “Let the games begin.”My words to Trent, one of the Kings of Hawk Academy. I was offered the chance to be part of their ritual. Old rules. Old traditions.Old building. Old money. But all of this was new to me. I wasn’t one of them. I wasn’t rich or privileged, and I was far from arrogant. The Kings, both Trent and James, were the most gorgeous but dangerously cruelest … James, were the most gorgeous but dangerously cruelest guys that I’d ever met. They expected me to fall in line and fade away as if their sky blue eyes would brainwash me as they continued to torture me.
I was the new girl, but I was no princess.
They may be the Kings of Hawk Academy, but when I find out their secrets, I’m going to bring them and these old walls tumbling down.

This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Peitho; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

This book gives you alot of back story in the first lot of chapters. Which is filled with sad outcomes but gives you more understanding about who Vicki is. From here she is left with no other option but to go to the academy her mum set up for her to attend.
When she arrives she is bullied as soon as she walks in the door. Which leads to her wanting to leave but with the help of Mr Hawk she stays. To be taken on a mad ride of twists and turns to end on a crazy discovery at the wrong time to leave you hanging needing the next book

This was my first book by Peitho and it was definitely and interesting read. Even now that I am trying to write up my review, my brain is going everywhere and I am struggling to figure out what to say that captures my reaction to the book without spilling the twists of the plot.
Vicki lives with her mother and step father until an accident happens and her mother passes away. At the will reading Vicki finds out that not only did her step father drain all the accounts and disappeared but she is supposed to uproot her life in Utah to move to a top notch boarding school in Massachusetts. She is instantly bullied by some of the pretty, popular, rich kids and she struggles to make friends, in fact the only person she seems to be able to talk with at all is Mr. Hawk (AKA the headmaster or principal of the school). When the bullying gets to be to much she is ready to pack her bags and head home, but now that shes an orphan she has nowhere to go. Mr. Hawk doesn’t want her to leave, he wants to push her to stay and when he lets it slip that he knows her father, as in present tense, she has to stay at the school to find out what he knows. When she is give a opportunity to put an end to the bullying for the rest of the year she jumps all over it but will cost be to much?
I will say this about the story, once you get to the academy the story is freaking good, like I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. The time leading up to the academy was a little slower paced and I almost thought I had the wrong book but I am so glad that I stuck it out. The plot itself was good and twisted, there were a few major twists I saw coming and I few that blew me out of the water. I felt terrible for Vicki, especially her first day at the school and how horrible it must have been. Not only is she forced to attend a school across the country but she can’t even figure out how her mother set this up.
I’m not gonna lie though… Mr. Hawk sounds HOT as all get out! He seemed to genuinely care about what was going on with Vicki and he tried to help her where he could, like removing her from the dorm room she was supposed to share with one of her bullies. James and Trent Hawk A.K.A the kings of the school left me a little confused but also excited to see what comes next. I can’t really talk about them with out spoiling the plot but they are Mr. Hawk’s step sons and they have the most power over the student body when it comes to who is bullied and who isn’t. I believe the next book will be Trent’s and I can’t wait.
I do recommend this book but I caution you to keep in mind that it is a darker story and it does start off a little slow but it’s worth the read!

All the potential in the world, the developing storyline was interesting and had the makes of a wonderful novel; however, I never could become engaged with my attention fully invested. I will definitely have to give this story another try later on.

Whoa…. this book has it all:
Humiliation
Angst
Grief
Bullying
And this storyline is dead serious…. literally.
How can a story of a bunch of teenagers be so cruel? So immature? So immoral? When you read Bad Intentions, you’ll see. Vicki’s dad is MIA, she was told he died. Her mother was killed by her stepfather when she was a senior in high school. Six months into the marriage, the stepfather has raided all the money in the accounts, kills the wife/mom and disappears. Vicki is left with nothing, but her mother’s will. She is to go finish her senior year at an exclusive private school, Hawk Academy.
It’s here that the rest of the story takes place. The place is full of rich kids, kids want to make life a living he11 for ‘outsiders’. When Vicki has had enough, she’s ready to go back to Utah and stay with friends. But the head master lets it slip that he knows her dad. That’s all Vicki needed. Now she’s on a quest to find out who her dad is and if he’s still alive. She has to stay at Hawk Academy.
I found this a quick read…. I finished it in one day. And, yes, Vicki does find out who the man that fathered is. But, it’s not an easy quest for Vicki and she pays a big price for that information, and that price is not in dollars.
OBSERVATIONS:
This book is not for everyone. The main characters may be teens but the subject matter is very adult. It’s hard to wrap my mind around the moral depravity regarding these teens, especially what happens in the last two or three chapters. On one hand we have an immature and innocent Vicki. On the other hand, see rich kids doing the unthinkable.
Some readers will read this book and stop there. Others will want to continue on to the next book to see where the story leads. This is a fast read, but not an easy one. The ending will have you cringing and wanting to know more, wanting justice, but also wanting to see if Vicki can out-manipulate the Hawk twins. I have a feeling their bullying has just begun. She is weak now but will be stay that way or learn how to fight back?
This may be about teenagers but it is not for teenagers. This is an adult read. I had a hard time deciding on how to rate Bad Intentions. Gave it four stars since it kept me reading wanting to know what would happen next. It kept me hoping Vicki would remain innocent but wise up. Kept debating between three and four stars. Three since the subject matter, especially at the end, was too detailed. Four since I kept turning the page wanting to see if Vicki would cave or stand her ground.
WISHES:
Want to know more about the stepfather. Will he be found and how? Just what is his story?
What is Vicki’s mom’s story? Why did she keep Vicki’s dad a secret?
