AllieWhen I moved to River’s Edge, dating was the last thing on my mind. I definitely didn’t expect to fall for him. Jesse Shepherd. Popular. Star athlete. Cocky as hell. You know the type. But as time passed, I realized there was more lurking beneath that gorgeous exterior.Secretive. Angry. A little bit broken. The more I peeled back his layers, the deeper I fell. Until I slammed headfirst into … fell.
Until I slammed headfirst into his sea of lies.
Jess
I blew my shot.
Pissed everything away—college, lacrosse, my future—only to end up right back where I started in River’s Edge.
I was content to revel in my misery, spending my days drowning in a bottomless pit of booze and girls.
Until I saw her.
Allison Parrish.
Beautiful. Sarcastic. Perpetual bad attitude.
The pretty little distraction from the shit show that was my life.
But the sins of my past were closing in on me, and I learned the hard way that nothing gold can stay.

I love Jesse!
He comes off as a jerk at first but peeling back the layers he has put up we see a true sweetheart willing to do anything for those he loves even when they don’t deserve it.
Jesse & Allie didn’t have a very good childhood so they can relate in that aspect.
Allie is struggling to deal with moving back to her Dad’s hometown after losing him and Jesse has moved back after dropping out of school. They are so similar yet different. They seem to give life back to each other even though they are reluctant about it in the beginning. I loved both of these characters and the push and pull between the two of them. Jesse definitely puts up a mask of indifference till he’s pushed too far and then all bets are off because he’s getting what he wants. Allie wants Jesse even though she hasn’t admitted it to her self. Jesse is a huge risk for Allie, She’s had a lot happened to her lately and she is scared to be hurt even more. This story is definitely a top read for the summer.
This the first book from me in the Bad Love series and I enjoyed it. While I didn’t know the backstory to some of the other characters, I was able to follow along with Jesse and Allie’s story.
Jesse had just enough of that bad boy, cocky attitude to suck me into the story. I felt for Allie and all the pain and loss she felt. Both Jesse and Allie had broken pieces that when together, just fit perfectly.
Bad Influence was a sexy, sassy story of two people who formed an unusual friendship, finding themselves and love along the way.
Gah! This was my first time reading anything by Charleigh Rose and let me tell you, I was truly impressed with both the author and the book. Bad Influence is unquestionably one of the best new adult romance novels that I’ve ever read. It contained a little bit of everything, and checked all the marks for me. It was sexy, angsty, emotional and wonderfully written. It’s a richly developed and well plotted story. Everything about it just jumped off the page, almost taking on life, as if it were happening around me. I absolutely loved it!
Jesse comes across as a cocky and arrogant bad boy, but there’s more to him than meets the eye. He is a lost and broken soul, but keeps it hidden behind a facade. But as the story progresses, secrets come to light showing us exactly what torments him. We see how much he struggles internally to break the cycle as his past catches up to him. I absolutely felt for him because he had a heart of gold and was worthy of so much more than the cards he’d been dealt.
Allie is strong and brave, but haunted by her past. The brokenness that plagues her soul rivals that of Jesse’s soul. Both are lost, and trying to move past all of the heartache and pain. But she was able to show Jesse his worth and to help him become the best version of himself. The happiness they found in each other while trying to heal was absolutely magical. The two of them loved hard and it was a beautiful sight to see. They were everything! A perfectly imperfect match that quickly captured my heart.
Bad Influence was a phenomenal read. I honestly had no expectations going into this book beyond hoping that I would enjoy it. Well, I was pleasantly surprised because I can honestly say that I not only thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was well beyond anything I could have expected. The writing was top-notch and everything that I hope for when reading romance. Without a doubt, this story deserves all 5 stars and more.
This author is the queen of angst and of my freaking goodness did she deliver ALL THE ANGST in her newest addition to the standalone Bad Love series, Bad Influence! Jess and Allie literally owned my heart within moments of beginning this story and wholeheartedly captivated every part of my body, mind, and soul. Their chemistry was absolute perfection and their comical banter had me swooning in overdrive. The second these two laid eyes on each other, I knew that they were going to keep me on the edge of my seat in anticipation. These two were tragically flawed souls that were destined to be the missing piece for one another that they have forever been searching for.
Charleigh Rose never disappoints and I knew without a doubt that this story would be another five star read, even without knowing anything about it. However, this story doesn’t deserve only five stars, it deserves a whole heck of a lot more…like maybe a THOUSAND! This incredibly talented author has a poetic way with words and with each new release I find myself falling even more in love with not only her writing style, but also her addictive characters. River’s Edge is the perfect town and I cannot wait to get my hands on more stories from these incredibly captivating characters!
Wow! Jesse and Allie are FIRE! They had me hooked from their very first interaction! (I kind of want to see that Sierra ***** get popped in the face a couple times though!) Their story, how they met, how they got together, how he perused her…. how they fought, and how they made up… ALL OF IT! I loved it all. Charleigh Rose managed to pull some tears out of me! More than once this book had my crying. The writing was so powerful that I could totally feel the abandonment that Allie was constantly feeling. She was so strong! Despite what she was thinking of how she handled certain situations, she had the strength to keep trying. Jesse (cue the severe swooning!) this man is the perfect mix of arrogant and sweet….. he isn’t really a cocky jerk. He has a sweet and soft heart that just made me melt into a puddle….. and so freaking hot that it made that puddle boil! It is definitely a book I would recommend. I have liked all of the books in this series. All of them books are awesome! You can totally read this as a stand alone and not feel like you even missed a thing. But I still suggest reading the other books (Bad Habit and Bad Intentions) because they are freaking awesome too! If I could give more than 5 stars I would….. now if you will excuse me I need to go find a strawberry dum-dum.
I feel raw and flayed. Like someone split me open, and all the ugly shit I keep locked up inside spilled out for everyone to see. Grieving. Abandoned. Heartbroken. Alone.
Absolutely incredible! I was completely hooked! Allie and Jess are now in my list for top book couples! Such an electric and passionate relationship! Allie felt close to my heart, we’re very much alike. Charleigh has created a masterpiece with this book! AMAZING!
Just when I thought I had my favorite couple from this series picked out in stalked Jesse and Allie to steal my heart. Jesse was the bad boy with a heart of gold I couldn’t help but adore. Brave, strong, independent and beautifully broken Allie was able to see past the mask Jesse wore for everyone else. I loved watching these two together and how they each soothed the others brokenness. The witty banter, push and pull, angst and sizzling chemistry between them had me inhaling their story as quickly as I could. Their story hit me in the feels- from laughing to crying and swooning to a bit of raging plus everything in between. I loved revisiting River’s Edge and after this fantastic and heartgripping read I’m intrigued to see who’s story is next in the Bad Love series.
Bad Influence
5 Stars ++
Oh my oh my wowza!! Absolute perfection! Her words made me want more! Phenomenal characters! Liked how she referenced to The Outsiders!!
“MY DAD ALWAYS SAID THAT both the best and worst things in life are unexpected. They’re the moments that change your life indefinitely, and even if you see them coming, you’re never prepared for the impact. It’s what you do in the aftermath that matters. It’s how you deal with the crisis— or good fortune— that defines you.”
Snag this! You won’t regret it!
5 LICKING STARS!! This series has been amazing, but this book has taken the crown. I want Dum-Dums now!! I absolutely love Jesse and Allie, these two are perfection in everyway possible. Their story is so full of feels and will touch your heart all the way through. Charleigh Rose writes characters that become your family and friends….you will remember them forever.
I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for Jesses story (I don’t know the meaning of the word patience) and the only thing keeping me going was knowing he was going to be well worth the wait (and he totally was). There’s something that’s intrigued me about him from the first mention of him so I couldn’t wait to get to know the real Jesse.
Jesse has that bad boy vibe down perfectly in this book. He doesn’t pretend to be a good guy, he has a past, he’s keeping secrets and there were times he really frustrated me but beneath his I-don’t-care attitude is a guy with a heart of gold. There’s a brokenness about him, a vulnerability that made me love him even more. The more I got to know him, the more I loved him. Allie is the perfect match for Jesse. She’s also dealing with her own problems and she knows Jesse is going to bring her even more if she’s not careful. Trying to keep her distance from him doesn’t go to plan and it’s not long before the sexual tension between them is too much to ignore.
I’ve loved the previous books in this series but I definitely have a soft spot for Jesse after reading this book. The characters are fantastic, the banter, the chemistry, the turmoil are all perfect and I didn’t want their story to end. Another great book from Charleigh Rose.
The Best Things In Life Last Forever
I needed a Jess when I was in college! Just when you think you can’t love this series more, the author gives us Jess and Allie. This cocky, alpha will steal your heart and you won’t want it back.
Jess was all set to go away to college on a lacrosse scholarship. He wanted to get away and leave all the crap behind him. Then that dream evaporated. Gone just like that. Jess is tortured by the secrets he keeps. They may just tear him apart.
Now he’s back home floundering. Then he runs into Allie and she’s now back on his radar. This time he’s going to get the girl.
Allie’s on her own. She’s working, going to school and planning for her future. Music is her life. It flows through her veins. She may want Jess but she doesn’t want to want him. Jess is determined and he’s going to make staying away impossible.
The author delivered a NA romance that gives you poignant moments and sage wisdom. There was so much weighing on them from their pasts but they were both fighters. Strong enough to do better and live their dreams. The intensity between Jess and Allie was enviable. It’s up to them to allow themselves to be vulnerable and share their pain.
This series just keeps getting better. An incredible cast of characters with so many layers to uncover that it keeps me coming back for more. I don’t know what’s next, but I’m looking forward to it.
If someone want to hear my reccomendations about this book I’ve got 3 words to say about Bad Ifluence, Charleigh Rose and Jess with Allie : LOVE THEM HARD!
I want to be their roommate, with my headphones on (sometimes)…
I want to be their big sister, I’m sure – me & Lo could rock as siblings…
I want to be their best friend, just to have them all around…
And, Yes here comes this few moments little moments when book left me speachles, I want to say everythig, scream my love for this characters and THIS author butI don’t know how…. No words could desribe how much this book capitaved my bookish soul and heart.
I’ll be FOREVER gratefull that Mrs Rose decided to became a writer -from one book to another she’s showing how much tallented person she is. Charleigh Rose has outdone herself with Bad Ifluence, and deserve for very, very long standing ovation!
Bad Influence give me so many emotions from very first paiges. I didn’t read this book, I devoured every damn letter, with the hunger like on human’s one last meal !!!
It was angsty adventure, with right dose of desire between 2, little broken young people… about hard times and good ones, where tears mixing with laughs…. because welll…. Actually… LOVE is always the best answer !
Jess sigh…. he’s amazing !!! and nothing less. He’s hot so obviously so let’s welcome the perfect material for every daughter father’s nightmare, however from the other side… his commitment to family and people he love is unquestionable. I liked to watch His relationship with Lo. It was such a great adventure to watch them together again! Seeing Allie, showing up in this family picture was more that expected. She warmed my heart, because she’s sweet and little lonely… I was happy to see how her life was changing around Lo and Jess.
I can say with all honesty I have! Bad Influence is amazing, breathtaking and OF COURSE must read.
***** 5 ANGSTY STARS!! *****
Charleigh Rose is the queen of angst. She writes it, I one-click it. I don’t care what it is because I know it is going to take me away to a place of young love, angst, a whirl of emotions, and hot and steamy sex. I have been waiting for Jesse’s book since he made his young and cocky appearance known in Bad Intentions, and I’m thrilled to say that he exceeded every expectation I had – and Allie was the literally the strawberry lollipop on top!
Jesse is not your typical bad-boy. He hides behind his lacrosse jacket, pretty boy face and cocky/charming personality. But underneath it all, he is simply a young adult who was forced to grow up too fast with too little. He is rough around the edges, buries his feelings and emotions behind his humor and flirtatious personality, and would much rather sacrifice his own happiness and future for those closest to him. He has been beaten down so much in life that he simply believes that he does not deserve love or success of his own. He is loyal to a fault, passionate, and cocky as hell. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to smack him or kiss him at times. But for the most part – I just wanted to love him. I love his edginess – the fact that he holds nothing back when he speaks, flirts or fights, and his possessive nature – especially when it comes to Allie. And when he showed his vulnerabilities I was done.for.him. DONE.
The second Jesse walked into the bar and approached Allie, the pages lit on fire. Their chemistry, witty banter, and overall care-free attitudes were pure perfection. I wanted them together from the first second they met. Allie is literally Jesse’s missing puzzle piece. Although she has her own past demons she is working through, she is intrigued by Jesse and the facade he seems to portray. She sees through him and never falters to lift him up – to tell and show him how much he is worth and deserves; and at the same time, she holds her ground with him and sets up boundaries. She is not intimidated by his somewhat erratic behavior and undisclosed past, but she will also hold him accountable for it. As much as she tried to fight her feelings for Jesse – it was a losing battle from the start. This girl is a fighter, but it was so endearing to watch her finally let her guard down and accept what she no longer had any control over. Her feelings. Sigh…
This book is EVERYTHING that I love about a new adult angsty romance….the depth of the characters, the push and pull and non-stop banter, the excitement and fear of navigating adulthood, and alllll the steamy “almost” sex. C Rose hit this one out of the park and ticked all of the boxes for an unforgettable and addictive addition to the Bad Love series. I will never get enough of these characters and can’t wait to see what’s next for them. Well done once again C Rose!!
