Repeat after me: stay away from the hot girl. The beautiful girl. The f**king ray of sunshine in the middle of your delivery route. Layla Barros is everything I never knew I wanted. Everything I’ll never have. She’s an innocent young student. I’m a convicted felon. She’s rich girl from a nice family. I’m from a broken home.I’m no addict, but she’s my drug. I can’t stay away, even though I know … drug. I can’t stay away, even though I know I’ll ruin her in the end.
She might be the girl of my dreams, but I was always a bad idea.

I love the story line . The characters were so real to me . It really showed the ugly side of love and the good nurturing kind of love . I will read a book from this author again
Love this book. It was fun and kept my interest. Good Read.
Good easy to read.
The only reason I gave four stars instead of five, is the book ends on a cliff hangar.
It started good, but then kept dragging on and on… then I realized it was a trilogy
🙁
Liked it but went to buy 2nd one and it was not on iBooks
Phenomenal writer. Loved the characters. Will definitely look for more by this writer. Couldn’t put it down.
Good series
I loved every minute! It pulls u in and to fully appreciate the story on how amazing it is u will need book 2
This book has stayed with me. It’s a great story and when it was done I was glad book two was readily available.
It was just ok. Got real tired of the F-word it was WAY overused and completely unnecessary. The work loses all impact when it’s used so often, it becomes meaningless. I did like being in the head of the guy sometimes, it added a lot to this book which needed it. I did NOT like the preachiness or cliffhanger ending just stop that crap, I almost gave two stars because of it. A book should be complete or it isn’t a book. The sex scenes were well written. Too much drama…the author made fun of telenovellas but this book was like a soap opera! In the synopsis it says older man…the guy was only a few years older so I felt that was misleading. Older would be like 15 years to me, I mean they aren’t in high school…jeeze.
It was depressing even though the love brewing between the characters was sweet. It moved along too slowly for my liking also.
I liked it. It took a little while to get into it but then I couldn’t put down.
Fantastic read.
I felt like there was a slow start to this story. But then once it got going it was so worth it.
Layla is a college student who came to New York from Washington. She comes from money but her parents don’t spoil her. Nico is a hard working man who takes care of his family first. He doesn’t have money or the greatest background. But none of these things matter to Layla. She wants to be with him anyway. Nico never feels like he is good enough for her. Layla has a roommate that is really quite snobby, but I still couldn’t hate her for it because you could always tell she really was just looking out for Layla. Even if it was not what Layla wanted to hear.
The end of the book was very emotional! I really did cry (hence the reason it got 5 ). But then the epilogue happened….. and it pushed to story into a whole new direction with a GIGANTIC cliffhanger that had my stomach in knots!
Now I am slightly annoyed that I have to wait to find out what happens to Layla and Nico, but I really look forward to seeing where this story line goes!

Wow! Nico and Layla meet on one of Nico’s many deliveries to where Layla works and sparks fly and are ignited between the two. Although they come from different worlds all they see is each other and not the reasons why they can’t be together.
I love the chemistry between the two of them. However I am mad that it ends in a cliffhanger (which I hate) but I’m excited to see what will happen next.
Okay, First of all, What the actual Hell is with that ending.
That is not okay. AT ALL. Nope.
Second of all, this is my first book by Nicole French and I wasn’t ready.
I was expecting some light fluff for my sunday read but Nope, I got some emotional heartache for time.
Star crossed and all that bullshit.
Sigh. Like my heart kinda hurts.
EMOTIONS!!!!!
The progression of the book is a little slow in some parts but you get the feel of characters so much better.
Layla is such a strong character. She’s sweet and hates to take advantage of others. Trying her best to do things on her own.
Nico is that man with a past but a heart of gold and would give you everything he has.
Both come from very different worlds that try to distance themselves from each other but they are drawn to back to each other like magnates.
Such a heartfelt realistic love story that keeps you begging for more.
I write weird reviews.
Bad Idea is book one in the Bad Idea series by Nicole French and it is not a bad idea to read this, in fact you should read it!!! There was just something about this book that kept me reading and not wanting to put it down and the ending is WOW!!!!!!!!
This was not a typical story for me. Yes, romance is romance and who doesn’t love a good romance book? BUT its the story as a whole and lesson of life that speak out. Two people just trying to make it in this world. Coming from very different backgrounds or different sides of the track. Then throwing in your own hangups, and trying to “get out” and find yourself isn’t easy, but when you find someone you just can’t walk away from and that whole opposites attract thing can get interesting.
Layla,is in her second year of college. Trying to keep afloat, because even though her parents have it all, they only have given her money for her education.
Nico, whose many years older than Layla, has been raised in Hell’s Kitchen and wants just to survive and get. He has put all his dreams aside for the sake of family.
When the elevelator doors open and he locks eyes with Layla, both theirs lives are about to change. But can they survive the differences, age, education, jobs, and all the other things that life throws at them? That’s all your getting from me because I don’t want to spoil anything. Just go read it!!!!
My only concern for this book was the length, but it is more that I needed to see what was going to happen and just wanted to get to the end faster.
4 Stars

Have you ever read a book that even after reading it you’re still thinking about it, wondering how things are going to turn out. That’s what Bad Idea has me doing. I honestly can’t wait for the next book, Lost Ones, to be released. Thankfully March 14th isn’t too far off. Being the first book of Mrs. French’s that I’ve read, I must say she did an excellent job drawing me into Layla and Nico’s story and making me care for the two characters.
I felt so many emotions while reading this book. I was happy and hopeful for the two one moment and then my heart was breaking for them in the next. The constant struggle to defend each other to their family and friends was frustrating. The inner turmoil Layla and Nico grapple with is saddening. I admired Nico for being the glue that held his family together and trying to give them the best life he possibly could. I loved Nico and Layla together. Their love for each other is totally apparent but the timing for their relationship is off. The odds seem to be stacked against them but I’m holding out hope that they’ll find their way back to each other and overcome everything keeping them apart.
Wow I have so many things to say about this book. First of all, being Dominican, although I don’t live in the US I can say Nicole did a great job with the culture and the way people live from all this mixed cultures.
Nico is amazing, he’s caring, he loves fiercely, he’s gorgeous and all he wants in life is to get something good for himself. I know people like him and I understand where he comes from. I know families like his, very demanding.
Layla is a spoiled girl who, even though is mixed race, has been sheltered all her life. I know a lot of people like her dad too who want to hide their roots. I don’t believe she’s in love with Nico because she kept comparing him to rich kids like her and I hated when she referred to him like the fedex guy or bouncer. He isn’t even that old, she’s just inmature. Her friends are no better and I was really pissed off when her inmature selfish personality made him decide to stay in NY. Good thing he left anyways. If he had stayed he was going to regret it and it would break them in the long run.
The epilogue almost had me throwing my phone away because I can’t believe she went and got herself in a situation like that. But I can’t wait to read the second book on this story and eventhough she wouldn’t be my first choice for Nico, he loves her and I want him to be happy. I feel protective of him because he reminds me people I know .
